QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 12:18 AM) No comment That's pretty much the all time set up in Soxtalk history. Hanging curve right there.

Heads, I really don't think you could last a day in Carbondale. PS I absolutely busted some people today in beer pong and baseball. I wish everyone didn't pass out so early though cause now I'm going to have to watch some Scrubs for about another 5 hours before I can try and go to sleep.

That Was Not As Good Of A Game... The Semi-Positive Postgame Thread
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 01:36 AM) I hate the way the team is structured right now, especially when I think that better pieces are not waiting in the wings, but rather ignored in the wings. It's very frustrating as a fan. Exactly how I feel. This organizations thought process is quite perplexing at times.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 01:02 AM) It's really hard to get interested in the Sox minor league system this year. Go Poreda.

The "Mighty" Detroit Tigers
Detroit's going to hit, they aren't going to pitch very well though. This is still Cleveland's division to lose imo.

South Park had the best fight scene in the history of fight scenes tonight.

Tom Crean to Indiana
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) But they already signed the LOI -- Marquette doesn't have to let these guys out of their LOI. That would be a complete dick move on their part, but they can still make them come here and go through the business of transferring (if they felt so strongly about it). And I don't need to be reading that right now, especially with regards to Taylor. I'm going to have faith, though -- Beasley stayed at K-State even though Huggins left, right? Or is that more of an exception-and-not-the-rule thing? One more thing that works in Marquette's favor -- and hitless first brought it up and the previous poster mentioned it as well -- Marquette has a financial advantage on most other schools. Crean had to have been ranked among the top coaches nationally as far as annual salary, right? I'm relatively confident they'll bring the big bucks to the table. And to be quite honest... I'm kind of really, really hoping for Weber or Lowery. I'd be fond of either of the two. No.

April Fools Day Thread: Joe Crede and Nick Masset dealt to SF
Not gonna lie, I'm pretty happy with this deal. Crede needed to go and despite what Masset did yesterday, I'm still not very confident in him. Can't wait to see Josh back with the big league club.

I'm throwing this out there...
Fields hit 23 home runs last season in less than 400 ab's. The talent is obvious and I think most people at this point just believe Josh is the better baseball player. Right now, Crede has just as much to prove, if not more than Fields does.

2008 White Sox Catch-All Thread
Buehrle is going to be fine but once we get to the 3-5 spots in our rotation, I got a feeling that we're going to be seeing a lot of similar scores to yesterdays game.

That Was a Good Game... The Positive Postgame Thread
It's nice to have real baseball players in the 1-2 spots of the lineup. We're going to score some runs this year.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 31, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) I saw that Washington played Philadelphia today and I figured it was a mistake. Nope, sure as s*** that was perfectly correct. It's downright stupid. Ya, that confused the hell out of me too.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) What is the reasoning behind Linebrink instead of Dotel? For me in a tie game, I look to the guy who has been a closer, because essentially he was asked to do just that, and not give up any runs. Its not really a set up role that we were asking, which is what Linebrink has always been asked to do. Ya, that move doesn't bother me at all. Dotel just made a dumb mistake by throwing a meaty pitch with a 1-2 count.

Official 2007-08 College Basketball Thread
QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) So this has been by far the most boring second weekend I can ever remember in the tournament. The elite 8 games have been terrible and outside of the Xavier/WVU game there really hasn't been a single exciting game. I do think that the final 4 should be fantastic because assuming that KU wins the 4 best teams in the country will be represented. My only rooting interest in the Final Four will be to cheer against UNC(sorry palehose) but I'm definitely looking forward to next weekend, there should be some awesome games.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 10:39 AM) Indeed, I think it's unquestionable fact that a girl can become more attractive if you find her to be a great person as you get to know her better. And vice versa. I know plenty of girls that I was initially attracted to, got to know 'em a bit more and all of the sudden they didn't look very good at more.

Your favorite baseball movie ever?
Pretty hard for me to choose between Eight Men Out, The Sandlot and Field of Dreams. I love those 3.
