  1. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 05:35 PM) High K rate. Needs to improve strike zone control. Decreased power because of injury. Scott Boras. He's only a junior, so once he slipped past the first couple rounds, he'll go back to school. Considering he was considered one of the top college position players entering the year, he needs to go back to school unless the redsox throw a ton of money at him, which isn't out of the question. Gotcha. Thanks.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) It looks like Uribe's wife is the only person to get him not to pull off the ball too early. By the looks of Juan, I actually think he's the one giving birth, not his wife.
  3. The Red Sox just drafted Laporta. Is there a reason he fell this far?

    Ab Workouts

    QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 05:04 PM) I workout every night starting around 9pm or 10 if a sox game is on. My goal is to drop my glucose before I go to bed. My stomach is empty by that point. After my workout I drink a bottle of water. It amazing to see how working out at night affects my blood sugar not only before I hit bed, but when I wake up. When I dont work out, my sugars are up at least 20-40 in the morning. When I run at night, my numbers are almost "normal". I always work out at night, I've tried before to get up early before my day starts and do it but that didn't work out so well. That lasted about two days.

    QUOTE(T R U @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 05:00 PM) Yikes I do work out everyday though, my diet just sucks.

    So drinking 5 cans of pop a day and basically no water is healthy, correct?
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:35 PM) Who did STL pick? Adam Ottavino.
  8. QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) not good enough, how about we draft guys that are mid 90's. lets see if the rest of the draft goes as bad as last year. Why are you even following the draft considering you hate minor leaguers so much?
  9. Avery Morris for the Dodgers. Two Sawx picks then our sox.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) What pick are we at? Stros at 23.
  11. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:23 PM) Does anybody thing Daniel Bard could slip to the Sox? It would be sweet to let him work as a reliever for us down to stretch to save innings and bring him up in Sept. Don't jinx it.
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) Is the radio that much quicker than video or something? Arizona just picked for the video The draft tracker thing is what is flying, the radio was behind the video when I turned it on.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) Makes a lot of sense. Dbacks are doing a lot of good things. They really are.
  14. Where's the best spot to follow this live? This is really the first time I've ever been home for the draft.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) BA appears to think the Cards are going to load up on Boras clients (high ceiling guys too) if they get the chance. They now have Shcerzer sliding to them at 30 (past us; this would be the type of guy that if he fell, it would be worth taking a chance on trying to negotiate a 3 million buck contract). They also have Kennedy going to the Cards in the supplemental round. Kennedy probably hurt his stock as much as any projected top pick as he was a top 10 pick at the start of the year (if not a top 4 or 5 pick) but like Scherzer he struggled with consistency this year and some scouts have doubts about his smaller stature. I was talking to a friend about the same thing last night. If Scherzer falls all the way to the Sox at 29, I think you have to take a chance on him. I doubt the Sox will but I'd really love them to.
  16. I'm interested to see if the Sox go the college closer route for a guy that could possibly help them this year.
