HS Senior rips his own graduating class.
Rowand44 replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) WHo gave the school a worse name? The athletes who probably excelled in sports and school, or the whiny senior who decided to take it upon himself to embarass the school through his graduation speech? Ding. -
Refuse to.

Before I could drive and my dad took me to all my sporting events, we left almost every game early and it just drove me nuts. I haven't left a game early since I've been able to drive.

Official Soxtalk 2006 World Cup Thread

So for someone who knows nothing about soccer, is the US pretty much done already? If not, what do they have to do to advance? -
Roethlisberger injured in motorcycle crash
Rowand44 replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
It's just retarded to ride a bike without a helmet. Hopefully he ends up being ok but this was real dumb on his part. -
Should the KKK be allowed to protest at historical sites?

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) What should the counter-message be? Fists. -
Ha, everything mentioned in this thread was delicious. I think I liked the baseball mitt with bubble gum even more then the wrestling bar and that's saying something. Both were awesome.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 07:31 AM) What was he throwing MPH wise last night? I didn't see the game, and the game thread didn't have much description on that. I was at the game and kind of shielded from the gun so someone else will have to fill you in about that. He's throwing about as hard as he threw last year though, his control just completely sucked last night. Every hitter seemed to have a 3-1 count and obviously that isn't going to work.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) Another guy I can think of is Ken Shamrock. That guy is as tough as it gets. He's old now. Obviously the guy is still very tough but he's definitely not the fighter he once was. He's had his ass handed to him the last few times I've seen him fight.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 07:23 AM) I don't think anyone doubts this was going to happen to Freddy about a month back when he throwing the stuff he was. And really what's happened this month is quite weird for him, because usually he's the pitcher who absolutely thrives against high class opposition, while he has problems with teams he should put away easily like Kansas City. I think no doubt we're going to be able to find a taker for Garcia or Garland this off-season though, but it will depend on what KW wants in return. Teams in the NL like San Diego who need SP and have a pitchers park would be well advised to try and get one of these 2 on the cheap. Garcia's stuff isn't the problem right now, last night he just kept falling behind every hitter and when you do that you're going to get rocked, period.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 06:41 PM) I don't get the wrestler love here. Obviously some of what goes on turns out to be real and you have to be tough and in shape to do it, but really wrestling is mostly fake s*** going on between juiced up freaks. Fake really isn't a good word to use for wrestling, scripted works out better because those guys get the s*** beat out of them every day. You're right about one thing though, for the most part they are juiced up freaks but most of them are tough as nails. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) I go with UFC fighters like Matt Hughes or Chuck Lidell. These guys are bad asses. Yup, two more very good choices there.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:56 AM) Don't start with the "MBIIA" argument, I think you just did.

Ya, that kid has no friends. -
Garland sucks right now and Freddy just decided to get behind every god damn hitter today and then he'd have to groove a fastball and it would get nailed. Those two guys worry me everytime out right now.

Yup, firing the hitting coach is always the answer. Von Joshua, Gary Ward, and now Greg Walker, it's obviously always the hitting coach's fault.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) I figure if you commit to go to a game, you are there for the long haul. Too much can happen, like tonight. Of course two hour rain delays and all that ... it might be time to leave. That's stupid to sit 3 hours waiting when you know more rain is coming, etc. Sounds like opening day. I must have been one of four people still at the park when the game resumed.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Was that you out there in the stands with your friends with your shirt off with the "I" in "White Sox!" ?! No, I was the explanation point.

The dumbest thing I did tonight was not wear a sweatshirt or jeans to the game but I stayed. The thing that bothers me about that whole 9th inning is that Jim and Mack hit those balls so hard.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) A lot of you seem to be experts and/or know a whole lot more about exercising than I do. So I'm just wondering, what are some good cardiovascular exercises? Biking, running, and jump roping come to mind for me. Any others that would help burn off some of the fat? Any form of martial arts.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) The more often he plays the sooner he will be exposed... ride him out at various positions while he is hot... but don't be shocked too see some errors thrown in. Pablo is a solid hitter... but then again he has very limited gap/power. His ability to draw a walk is lacking... in 408 career at-bats he has walked only 14 times while striking out 44 times ( which is not bad). Whoa...you're alive.
