  1. Not sure if this has been posted, but Michigan gets a commit from 5-star offensive lineman Stephen Schilling Thursday. Scout.com rates him as the 3rd best OL in the country and Rivals.com rates him as the 2nd best offensive guard in the country. After losing out on Sam Young, this is a great grab for the Wolverines! Schilling is Michigan's 5th 5-Star commitment this year, the 2nd 5-Star offensive lineman. Schilling Commits to Michigan
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 02:01 AM) Heads, UNI only up by 2 at half against the powerhouse that is Evansville. Hopefully Evansville can somehow pull this out, it'd be HUGE. Sadly, part of the former sentence USED to be true......
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 05:08 AM) Early in the 2nd half Lavin was commending Davis for making the changes. This was when they were cutting the lead. Obviously Killingsworth sat on the bench to long and he is your best player (along with Vader), so he needs to be on the court. That said when he was out there (aside from the 1st minute or two in the game) he was getting destroyed by our defense and was turning it over/forcing shots while not recognizing the double team. He was really miffed and got taken out of his game. I don't think it cost ya guys the game (having him on the bench) and it could turn out to be a really good learning experience for Killingsworth. First of all it is VadeN, not Vader. Sorry, that was killing me. I try to be fair and would have no problem saying Iowa beat us if I thought we played well. But I thought the game as a whole from IU was terrible. Missing Strickland hurt. Strickland being out, hurt Killingsworth, giving him one less option to pass to. I know you feel differently, but I can't give Iowa that much credit tonight. They weren't that good. If IU had anything, they would have won by 10. IU just completely laid an egg tonight, and coaching has to bear a big part of the blame in my mind. Not only was Killingsworth on the bench, but for a time so was Monroe, Vaden AND Wilmont. You just can't win without any of your top six players on the floor for an extended period of time.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 04:39 AM) At first, I thought the back spasms were getting to Marco or something. However, Erin Andrews quizzed about that, and it was just figured that Davis was trying to prove a point. Also, Andrews asked Davis coming out of the locker room at the end of halftime, what he said to Killingsworth about moving the ball when being double teamed. Apparently, Davis gave her a look, and said he didn't have to say anything because Marco knew. I won't get to see them until tomorrow morning, but the post game comments are going to be really interesting. Unfortunately, Davis is going to get ripped a new one tomorrow. I'm ripping him a new one tonight. Even Lavin, was quietly questioning the move, by commenting several times that the point was proven and he needed to go back to his big guns. Killingsworth did pass out of the post early in the game. I know one got picked off and I do remember at least one other, but I don't recall him being shot happy and shooting every time he got the ball.
  5. The Iowa game was just ridiculous tonight. Greasy, did I miss something here? What the hell did Killingsworth do that was so bad to deserve to sit more than 10 minutes in the second half?? And Monroe? At one point, they had a lineup of Ratliff (4 fouls), Suhr, Calloway, Allen and Kline? How in the hell do you think you can win on the road in the Big Ten without ANY of your top six players in the game? Granted Strickland and White are hurt, but s***, you can't have Vaden, Killingsworth, Monroe AND Wilmont on the bench at the same freakin time!! Is there something else going on here or did the ghost of Bob Knight take over Davis tonight?? I can't believe we didn't get beat by freaking 30!!!!
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) Perfect. I prefer ESPN, they actually do the games in HD. Well at least all of the Iowa ones I've watched on ESPN thus far were on HD. Every once in a while I'll see one not, but I assume the Iowa/IU game will be Should be a doozie. The Indiana @ Iowa game is INDEED in HDTV Tuesday night. Let's hope the Hoosiers whip the damned Hawkeyes in the wonderful spectacle of High Definition!!!
  7. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) How did Michigan State not move into the top 10? Let's see, they beat Ohio State in 2ot on the road then poleaxed Iowa by 30. And IU is ahead of them in one poll? I don't get it. Don't try to get the polls. Especially in the 8-16 range. Many of the teams are basically interchangeable. You'll drive yourself nuts trying to make sense of it.
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) 6 Big Ten teams in the top 14 of the RPI. And 4 Missouri Valley teams in the top 27. Lots of good basketball in the Midwest this year.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 06:21 AM) Cripes...is the Iowa/IU game not on TV? Cause it should be. Thats gonna be a really good game. The Indiana @ Iowa game tomorrow night is on ESPN @ 8:00 CT. the games I listed were CBS games only.
  10. Nice work PA..... very impressive

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) Is that supposed to be in green? Man I have seen them a couple time playing at the bars and they are so bad. Also that chick from Catfight I am pretty sure got turned down. She got the ticket to Hollywood

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) uh oh, American Idol is politically incorrect against gays http://contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mn...obic_20_01_2006 This will be nothing. Did you guys see the "guy" that spurred this comment? You couldn't tell!! "he" was wearing heels and a women's t-shirt, yet seemed shocked people asked the question. Simon offends anybody and everybody. Jackson's comment was fair. This is much ado about nothing. OR an organization just trying to get pub for itself on the heels of a very popular show.
  13. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) Bobby has been great, he's keeping totally to himself. Pat has decided to put his own voice in the media here now, and it hasn't been going to well. People here are hoping that with Pat, they will get Bobby's basketball tactic's, and a younger guy that can actually recruit a little without having the temper legacy follow. But all we have seen so far is a whiny brat. Will be interesting to see if the program ever decides to go in a different direction later on if this keeps up. I know Bobby has been great. But he is also surrounded by people who kiss his ass. That ever changes and you will see the true side of Mr. Knight. I have no doubt Pat will be pretty close to exactly the same way, although my guess is the odds are against him being nearly as good a coach.
  14. A few notes for fans of other Big Ten teams outside their viewing areas.... Sunday February 12 Illinois @ Ohio State (noon CT) is being broadcast nationally, but NOT in HDTV. Saturday February 25 Michigan @ Ohio State (12:30 CT) is being broadcast regionally with the opposing game being Louisville @ West Virginia. Neither is in HDTV. The semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament on March 11 and the finals on March 12 will be shown nationally in HDTV. One (non-Big Ten) side note: The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship Game this year will be broadcast nationally by CBS @ 1pm CT on Sunday March 5. Here is the complete college basketball schedule for CBS for the rest of the season. College Basketball on CBS
  15. For any IU fans outside the midwest, here is some info on their upcoming games being broadcast on CBS. Sunday Jan 29 @ Minnesota (noon CT) is being broadcast regionally with the opposing game Arkansas @ Kentucky. This means there is no chance in hell I will be able to see the game, but those outside of the Southeast may. Saturday February 4 vs. UConn (noon CT) is being broadcast nationally so no worries there! Sunday February 19 vs. Illinois (2:30 CT) is being broadcast regionally with the opposing game Arizona @ Stanford. Most of the country should see this game. I would guess that the Arizona/Stanford game will be mostly limited to the west coast. Sunday February 26 vs. Michigan State (noon CT) is being broadcast nationally so no worries there! The Big Ten wildcard game on Saturday March 4 (noon CT) will be broadcast nationally. It will feature one of three games, which has not yet been determined. The options are: Illinois – Michigan State or Indiana – Michigan or Wisconsin – Iowa. The thing I really hate about all of this is that NONE of these games are currently scheduled to be broadcast in HDTV!!! Looking at this schedule really makes me hate the loss of DJ White. Both the Big Ten Tournament and the NCAA Final Four are in Indianapolis this year. I know we aren't dead without him and he MAY return, but it depresses me somewhat to think of the possibilites the way this year has come together.
  16. I really think this week may be the most challenging and important week of the year for the Hoosiers. They are 4-1 in the conference right now, with their only loss their only road game. They go to Iowa Tuesday and Minnesota Sunday. While Iowa didn't look impressive yesterday, they will be at home and I expect that to be a very difficult game. Minnesota has really struggled this year, but IU has struggled even worse in recent history playing in Williams Arena. They just can't seem to win at Minny so this will be an important game. Minnesota has lost 5 in a row and it will likely be 6 as they visit Illinois Wednesday night. IU needs to make sure that streak goes to 7! IU's schedule is broken up fairly nicely the rest of the season, not having two major games back to back other than UConn (Feb 4) and @Wisconsin (Feb 8), but only one of those is a Big Ten affair. I really believe that this week will determine whether IU has a good chance at winning the Big Ten.
  17. Hey greasy, do me a favor, NEVER change your avatar please.
  18. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 06:14 AM) All the fans here are getting fed up with Pat Knight. He's going to be taking over the program when Bob leaves, yet he's been on the radio numerous times including tonight whining about not being able to recruit elite recruits. Hey Pat, either go back in time and fix your daddy's temper problems, or shut the f*** up and get out and recruit. Pardon me while I laugh. I always knew the day would come when the folks at Lubbock would realize that Knight comes with a bunch of baggage and that it would not be utopian with him there. While he has done well there, as the team struggles, it will only get worse. When Bob Knight's world isn't perfect around him, when people start to question him, it can get very ugly. I have no doubt it will be the same with Pat.
  19. Let's hope that IU gets ahead early and wins this one easily. Marco Killingsworth didn't practice Thursday due to the back spasms that were giving him trouble against Illinois and Roderick Wilmont has not practiced the past two days due to the ankle he hurt in the Illini game. Hope neither of these linger............
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 05:36 AM) (H-HR)/(AB-HR-K) For pitchers, you can't really find AB data, but AB should about equal to 3*IP+H+RoE -- And you probably won't be able to find minor league Reached on Error data either. You can get a pretty good idea if you fudge it though. Ask and ye shall receive! Not sure what the hell this number is supposed to mean, but here are Liotta's numbers for last year based on your formula. Kannapolis .326 - (108H - 5HR/428AB - 5HR - 107K) Winston-Salem .315 - (46H - 1HR/181AB - 1HR - 37K) Overall .322 - (154H - 6HR/609AB - 6HR - 144K)
  21. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) I have heard grumblings of who it is. I won't say because some people will want to see it when it comes out, but if you PM I will tell you. Why not? I posted the whole Top 10 last year before it came out! Be like Nike.......... Just Do It!
  22. I know here in the Birmingham area, home sales have slowed considerably in the past few months. I know these aren't the busiest times of the year, but I think it is a sign that an adjustment in the market is coming. How soon and how bad it will be is the million dollar question.
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) That's an interesting concept - but - if you don't have nets under you if the market falls, you're in BIG trouble. We aren't talking about a 2nd mortgage per se, but merely two mortgages that equal one. I have the first at 80% of the principal and the 2nd at 20%. I put no money down simply because putting 5% down only changed my payment about $25 a month. For $25 a month, I'll just keep my money. If the market falls, some areas will get hurt way worse than others (CA probably being #1 as Jason has already alluded to). So you do have to know your market. But as long as you are making your payments, you aren't going to "go in a hole". Your equity may not appreciate as much, but doing two mortgages has great tax advantages. PMI is not tax deductible. A 2nd mortgage (whether 10-15-20%) is. Your payment will be much cheaper as well. There really is no downside other than having two payments!
