  1. I didn't have a problem with the article at all. I thought it was pretty accurate. From a bigger picture viewpoint, the Sox seem like a pretty ho-hum team.
  2. The video would not load for me. It said it was loading and then suddenly stopped.

    I just saw that one....... I have had it up off and on all night. Bourbon Street is crazy all the time for those that haven't been there. We were there in December of 2003 and on the weekend it was packed out after 11:00. Lots of breats then too. It is bigger on Mardi Gras obviously, but it goes on all the time. On a normal weekend, you will see people stumbling down the middle of the street carrying a beer at 4 am. It's been me before, so I know.
  4. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) Hey, Hey now, I never said I "thought" we were going to lose. I dreamt it. I "thought" we were going to win by a landslide. I was mistaken. There's a saying in baseball that goes...... Don't think. It can only hurt the ballclub! I'd say it applies here too. LOL
  5. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 01:15 AM) I dreamt last night that we lost. A model of consistency........ lol
  6. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) Good point, i realize that Rex, but this is Michigan. Not only are we not playing physically well, we're playing like assclowns mentally. No excuse for that part. But that is my point. Teams get upset because they aren't ready to play mentally and they get surprised. That is why it is so difficult to go unbeaten, even if you are talking just in conference play. Somebody usually sneaks up and bites you in the ass when least expected.
  7. Playing on Sunday, then traveling to play on Tuesday is not easy. Tired legs, a game where you are heavily favored, etc..... Classic upset equation. Expect it to stay close.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 03:23 AM) Where'd you go to school, Rex? Evansville
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) LoL, probably. I know a couple of guys who played at SIU during the 90s, one drafted by the Yankees and coached in their minor league system for awhile. Now works for the Indians minors. I played against SIU in 1987 and 1988. I think I missed Finley by a year, but I am not sure. I don't recall playing against him.
  10. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) I've been doing a lot of Davis supporting of late. I really want him to be here next year. I just can't wait to see Killer and White down low with these freshmen. I think Wright's going to be back now. Also, this was brought up in the last IndyStar column. The Knight backers are f***tarded. The people that say Davis took Knight's players to the final four, na uh. Who was the recruiter of those players? Davis. Who's system was that? Davis'. Also that argument should go over to Texas Tech. The Knight backers that say he's doing a good job at Texas Tech. He didn't recruit those players. The whole argument should be moot. I agree with much of that but not all. My problems with Davis have nothing to do with the pro-Knight idiots, nor who won with whose players. My issues with Davis are documented so I will not repeat them here. But I think the thing that will hurt Davis the most is the $300,000 bonus he is due July 1st. If the AD has ANY doubt that Davis is the guy long term or ANY inkling that if things don't go well he will have the same decision to make, there is no way he will invest an additional $300,000 in Davis. If there is any doubt at all, DAvis will go or it will cost them more money to keep him. As far as Knight goes, he is doing well at Texas Tech and he is pretty much doing it with his own players. Knight ran off several players when he first got there and made sure that the players that stayed would buy into his system. The catch is that all of that has absolutely nothing to do with the decision that needs to be made at Alabama.
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) Well, congrats to Illinois. I don’t think anyone had doubts who was going to win this game. However, I’m not too upset with how we played today. They didn’t get beat as bad as I thought we would with Bracey being out. I was really pleased w/ Vaden today; he’s had a consistent season. However, nothing was very stand out; he really stepped it up when Bracey went out against PSU and today against Illinois. I agree. Although they struggled at times, which was expected, they battled and never looked "beaten". I hate that things are such that we can be satisfied with a double digit loss to Illinois, but that is they way things are today. Illinois is very good and IU is in transition. I really think that Davis will end up getting fired after this season. I hope that whoever the new coach is, will be able to keep the players there. I do think there is a good nucleus, but sadly, I don't think Davis will be around to see it come to fruition.
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) SIU doesn't have their first game until the 11th out in Florida vs. Stetson for a 3 game set. Would Steve Finley be considered SIU's top baseball alumni?
  13. This round presents some interesting matchups. I am struggling with the McCarthy-Hill and Brkich-Cox matchups. Jenny M. is an old favorite and is from Chicago, apparently a former regular of Oak St. Beach. Hill has caught my attention ever since she was in a Girls of the SEC issue of Playboy a few years ago and then a centerfold in the Girls of Conference USA issue a year later. She is truly a beautiful girl. Cox and Brkich are just different. Cox is more glamourous and really hot, but Brkich is the girl next door type. Personally, I like the pics of her that are not magazine layout shots. Anyway, I think we have some real quality here, so I hope everyone enjoys.
  14. The quarterfinals are up. As have the previous rounds, Round 3 will run for approximately a week, ending sometime next Friday night. Vote early and vote often............ er, just vote!

  17. There were 5 votes cast in the Nickki Cox/Amber Brkich poll. That poll was done incorrectly and will be deleted and replaced. Please check the new poll shortly and vote again and those 5 votes in the original poll will be lost. Thanks, Rex
  18. Jenny McCarthy - Model, TV Personality, Playboy Playmate Lauren Michelle Hill - Former University of South Carolina Cheerleader, Playboy Playmate, February 2001
  19. Shania Twain - Country Music Artist Heidi Klum - Supermodel
  20. Nice finish to the half for the Hoosiers after a terrible start.
  21. Man guys, lighten up. That event didn't call for "serious reporting". The whole thing was meant to be light and fun. A journalistic resume was not necessary for that. They used a good looking woman who could make it light hearted and fun. Hell, she ran the obstacle course and the pass catching course, showing how it worked. I thought that was great. I am not nominating her for sideline reporter of the year, but I thought she was perfect for that venue.
  22. Time for some kids to grow up today......
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) Georgia Tech is about to fall out of the top 25. What the hell happened to these guys? Pretty much the same team as last year and they just can't seem to get it going. Losing BJ Elder has really hurt them. With him hurt, it is not the same team as last year.
