I'll take him back tomorrow. And tomorrow, he would be an upgrade over what the Sox are running out there now.
  2. I try to stay out of politics, but you are certifiable if you believe that. Like Bush or not, that is the most ridiculous assertion I have ever heard.

Hate to sound like a KW hater without objectivity, but the guys obtained in trades and the signing of Yofu had to do with Williams. Or at least nothing more than listening to his scouting department. Signing a free agent to a Minor League contract again has nothing to do with KW. More than likely that was Shaffer signing the guy based on the scout that saw him in Miami's recommendation.
  4. Backman will be in the Majors next year, with the Sox or with someone else. Book It.
  5. I like Phil Rogers too, yet can't stand KW, so where does that leave me, O Wise One?
  6. Think of how many errors he would save our infield.
  7. Beat you to it Showtime. When Ankiel went back to the Appalachain League and played for Johnson City, they also played him at DH when he didn't pitch. He led the league in HRs. Hit .286 with 10HR and 35RBI in 41 games.
  8. Note: Barons are now in 1st Place..... never woulda thought that after their start On Ankiel, I saw him play twice in AAA and he was just unbelievable. He was dominant in every way. One of the few players you just shake your head over as you leave the park. His downslide has been sad. Don't be surprised to see him get to the Majors again though, possibly as an OF.
  9. Can't be. Gotta figure with 5 IP and 3 hits (didn't see any HBP's) he faced 18 or 19 batters (possible error). Even if he went to a full count with every batter, he wouldn't be at 100 pitches, unless there were tons of foul balls, but we all know how likely that scenario is.
  10. Without a doubt. I don't think anyone envisioned that kind of success for Rocky with the Sox and no one that I know of realistically saw him plugged in as our closer. A change of scenery can do a guy some good and it definitely did in this case. I'm rooting for the Rock, but am definitely glad we have Colon. I'll bash KW all day, but I will never question the Colon deal. We basically traded spare parts for him.
  11. I'd be curious to know his pitch count.
  12. Definitely Munoz (He has been dominant since his first 4 outings)...... Bullard is not on the fast track, but won't be pushed aside just because someone else below him seems ready. Wouldn't discount Sanders either. He is more than holding his own in an albeit limited role, in Chicago.
  13. I won't complain about that. Pacheco is one of the arms that is really starting to excite me. They have always done it that way, so no need to question it. Give them credit for consistency.
  14. Full boxscore..... Bullard and Smith with rough outings, but a win is a win. Hopefully it is not Greg Walker. I have heard nothing but bad things about him. a little insite here please..................thanks............ I already told you my thoughts HSC. If you want to find a way to let others in without attaching my name to it, feel free. Some things, I cannot say..... And just because I have my opinions, doesn't mean he won't be okay in the Big Leagues. So how good a hitter was Walker?? I don't recall him being any more than decent.
  17. We need to be careful..... ask for KW's head and we could have Josh Shaffer playing SS ahead of Jose by the AS break! LOL
  18. We can't trade for Darren Dreifort. We'd try and Kw would acquire a AAA OF by the name of Daren Dryfort instead. Danny Evans has that effect on KW.
  19. Oh yeah, Barons still won, 8-7. Ring with save # 10.
  20. Barons bullpen struggled in the 8th. Looks like Bullard and Smith got knocked around. Bullard gave up one HR and Smith 2. No box yet.
  21. From a guy who sees a lot of games, I'd say that is quite accurate. A few guys that started slowly have gotten hot and everyone has finally bought into the team first concept. I see a lot of similarities in this year's team as last year's at this point in how they play. Time will tell if the talent will be enough, especially if we lose some players. Reed and Yan could help, however.
  22. Starter Enemencio Pacheco was pulled in the 5th inning for unknown reasons. An hour and 38 minute rain delay was the unknown reason. The Sox have been historically consistent in not bringing out their starter after a rain delay of even moderate length.

Hey man, bet ya $50 Thomas walks on his next at bat.... I'll give you 3:1 odds on $100 Lee goes yard his next AB...
  24. Rex Hudler replied to Molto's topic in Pale Hose Talk
    Pete Rose........ that's funny.
  25. Sorry bro, his current numbers suck, which support my opinion. Saves are a worthless category. That answer tells me all I need to know Bmr. Can't admit you're wrong, can't provide evidence to the contrary either. Good luck in your fantasy world. I'll stick with the real baseball world.
