  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:49 AM) I think I'll be fine whether or not this deal goes down. Not me. I think I will go into a deep depression as a sports fan if he rejects this.
  2. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) ha... but truly if he says yes...this is Cutleresque I agree 100%
  3. QUOTE (Punch and Judy Garland @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:40 AM) I'd say the Freddy Garcia deal was slightly bigger. Peavy has had a better career than Garcia at the points of the deals, but our team was in better shape when we got Garcia. Both though were the crown jewels of the market when dealt (should it happen) and both were actually traded far in advance of the July deadline. I'm in favor of the deal provided we don't trade Flowers or Beckham. I want Flowers to be our catcher (or 1b-DH) in 2010. I just hope this deal isn't an indication that Kenny is changing strategies, rather that this is a part of our current youth movement. Peavy is a top 5-10 starter in baseball. Freddy was never in that tier. I am going to have to disagree here.
  4. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:39 AM) George Bell if he did say Yes what day you think would be his first start....i am coming home tomorrow and plannin on going on saturday...i might want to buy my tickets now If the George Bell trade was done in 1988 you may be right.
  5. Would this be the biggest trade acquisition in White Sox history? I am doing some major brain storming here, I am stumped.
  6. Did anyone call out the naysayers on the 1st few pages of this thread yet? If he waives his NTC there should be a few apologies and a few courses of crow served.
  7. QUOTE (Ron @ May 21, 2009 -> 12:05 AM) Great way to eke out a win by the Magic. You can live with LeBron the Scorer, it's LeBron the Distributor you fear, and this game showed that yet again. Too many shots by LBJ, he's got to spread the wealth even more than an 8 assist effort like tonight for them to win. You could not be any more wrong. Lebron shot 20/30. If he takes more shots at that clip, they win. Mo Williams and Delonte West had open shots all night and they still combined for 10/32 shooting. He plays with a bunch of stiffs. Cleveland wins 50 less games without Lebron.
  8. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 20, 2009 -> 11:24 PM) f*** YEAH!!!! Absolute bulls*** call for Dwight's 6th foul but it didn't matter. Go MAGIC!!!!! you're welcome Cavs in 5 you're welcome again
  9. And as soon as I say that, you guys go on a furious run. As proven all season, I am indeed the Orlando Magic good luck charm.
  10. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 20, 2009 -> 09:58 PM) I think if the refs were neutral and Hedo was playing at his best, we could win this series. But I don't see either of those happening. You guys squeaked by a team that squeaked by the Bulls. So I guess maybe the Bulls would have had a shot too? I'm just being real. Cavs . . . . Magic Everyone else
  11. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 20, 2009 -> 09:50 PM) Sigh, Mo Williams hits a backcourt 3 at the buzzer. If Dwight is gonna get called for those type of offensive fouls that have been called so far (especially the 2nd one), this series is over. Hate to break it to you, but this series was over before it started. That goes for any team in the East against Lebron.
  12. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 19, 2009 -> 11:04 PM) Blake Griffin is going to be a beast in the league. Whoever compared him to Beasley doesn't know Griffin. He is so much bigger and more powerful than Beasley and is still athletic as hell. ... yeah whoever that was
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ May 19, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) I said he was a less mobile Beasley. I never said that he wasn't a good player. sorry
  14. f***ing madness at my place, switching from Sox to hockey to basketball
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ May 19, 2009 -> 10:58 PM) Griffin is a less mobile version of Michael Beasley. And a more physical version. Nice job trying to knock Griffin without telling the entire story.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 19, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) Like I said all season, we just aren't in Detroit's league yet. Nothing wrong with what we have done this season, we just aren't Stanley Cup good yet. This series will be good for them as they are learning even more that sometimes you need even more than 60 complete minutes. I don't buy it. Anaheim was so close to knocking off mighty Detroit.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2009 -> 03:18 PM) Plenty of reasons to doubt and/or hate them. I just have this feeling that they're getting the genuinely disrespected card on their side, and with the talent on their team, they're the ones you want being cocky if you hate them. This is the reason why I'm picking the Lakers. Personally, I want Denver to win.
  18. I seen this coming with the passing of Mr. Wirtz. I mean, everything was in place to succeed: 1. Huge market 2. Huge Arena 3. Hungry Fan Base 4. Rich tradition 5. Best Jerseys in Hockey (maybe sports) 6. A nucleus of Kane & Toews Wirtz did EVERYTHING wrong. His successor had nothing to lose.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 19, 2009 -> 08:48 AM) I hate having to defend Ron Turner, but when he has his chips he isn't that bad. If the Bears aren't too bad at WR, then I'm really not that worried about him calling our plays. I can agree with this.
  20. WWE vs The Denver Nuggets http://www.craveonline.com/sports/article/...r-nuggets-77233
  21. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 18, 2009 -> 01:04 PM) just one team. Bulls and Sox
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 18, 2009 -> 11:48 AM) But think where they could be with Al Jefferson and the other pieces they put around and having just gotten Ray Allen... I'm just saying. You don't trade Rose for a Championship, because he hopefully will bring more than just one. Pierce-AL Jeff-Rondo-Big Baby-Jeff Green might be a top 3 team.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 18, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) They put up a damn valiant effort this playoffs without KG. I hope dealing Jefferson was worth the 1 championship. I would trade Rose for a championship.
