  1. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:06 AM) Well Nelson is certainly a better player than Rafer Alston. I cringe if Rafer's shooting more than 5 times a game, because more often than not, he's a 30-35% shooter, and that just ain't gonna get it done. And the Lakers are going to double team Dwight with Fisher and force Alston to hit that open 3. Hence why I think Nelson could be a real X - factor in this series if he got his outside shot going. We played absolutely terrible, but Dwight needs to spin more to the baseline and not force himself to go the middle, Lewis needs to pick it up and drive it better, while Lee needs to go slashing to the hoop again. I agree Nelson is an awesome player, but you can't compare KG and Nelson.

  3. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) I's find that statement funny too if I knew very little about sports. If you knew anything at all, you'd know that an all-star PG who averaged 17pts/5 assists per game is a big blow to any team. because Orlando really missed a beat without him?
  4. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 02:10 AM) Orlando was missing a starter too. The Boston series was 2 rounds ago. I dont understand the point in bringing them up now. lol
  5. I remember when Griffey and Thomas were the cards to get.
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 11:52 PM) carlos who? stop it
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 12:35 PM) that is all the Sox are talking about doing. I dont know where everyone is getting Frank being an active player on the roster. That is a joke. Dewayne Wise on the roster is the biggest Joke of them all. Frank can't help with his glove Check Wise can't help with his bat Check but... Frank's Bat> Anything Wise can provide. I'd rather be short on outfielders than put that joke of a AAAA player on the field.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) How about playing 72 holes of golf vs playing a few games as a DH? Golf is a physical skill sport based on muscle memory, consistency, aim, endurance, and huge freaking balls. Shooting a basketball in a hoop is much easier for more people than playing a round of par at a golf course, regardless of how much you sweat. Ok, I admit, this made me think. I actually like the comparison between a DH and a golfer. I'm surprised more defenders of golf do not bring this up. Touché.
  9. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:23 AM) This comment is everything thats wrong with the basketball system. Go to a school-screw the grades I 'm gonna be a millionaire. The hell with someone who wants to be in any other profession. One conversation with this guy and the school knew he was an idiot. They are all responsible, including the player. Maybe you will forget it in a couple of months, but someone with a kid in college, legitimatly paying for their more deserving kid to get a real education, should detest this and never forget it, or it keeps happening. I am disappointed with his HS altercations, not his SAT altercations. The NBA age limit is silly rule.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 10:23 AM) Where did I say anything about ESPN? Do you even play golf? If you actually read what you quoted you could see its something that involves athletic skill or physical prowess. I play Golf a lot, I also bowl, but I recognize the difference between those activities and running a full-court basketball game. If more amateurs played without a cart and more pros played without a caddy, I may take it a little more serious.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 09:50 AM) As the word "sport" is defined in the dictionary. Golf is most definately a sport, and one of the more difficult ones at that. ESPN also airs the Spelling Bee, you know.
  12. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 2, 2009 -> 04:10 AM) Umm,actually LeBron is the "other" 23...he took his number after MJ,not the other way around. I can agree with that. My mistake. I won't agree with comparing Golf to one of the major sports.
  13. Lebron is still the most awesome player to lace up a pair of sneakers since the other #23. Lebron is also the biggest name in sports right now.
  14. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 31, 2009 -> 01:36 AM) Lebron will never come to Chicago, its Cleveland or NYC. You make very valid points.
  15. I stand corrected. Poor sport. First negative thing I really seen from the kid, so it won't really change my opinion of him. Just shows me he is human.
  16. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 30, 2009 -> 11:18 PM) Yes. Burden of proof rests on you to prove otherwise!!11 alright... I'm on it btw, congrats to DBAHO and TRU
  17. QUOTE (Ron @ May 30, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) Dwight is earning that Superman nick tonight. 21 points, 6 boards, only 1 foul at half. Magic up 58-40. LeBron scoreless in the second, is he tired out or conserving energy? Dwight was a Beast tonight. Not sure about all the Lebron hate in this thread, but the 2 most stand-up guys who happen to be superstars would be Lebron and Dwight imo. The NBA has a very good thing with those 2.
  18. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 30, 2009 -> 11:02 PM) Great show of sportsmanship from Lebron just walking off the court while his teammates remain to congratulate the Magic. Were you there?
  19. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 30, 2009 -> 11:10 PM) it took MJ a few years to win,did LeBron think he was just going to waltz his way to multiple championships? Not with that supporting cast. He needs his Pippen and he won't find that in New York. He'll find a Rose in Chicago which might be the best sidekick anyone with cap space could offer. Someone needs to tell NY that naterob won't cut it.
  20. QUOTE (lord chas @ May 30, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) lebron marino he's 24. Anyone who would compare a 24 year old to Marino might have an IQ of 24.
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 30, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Best Bears offseason ever!
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2009 -> 11:30 PM) ZZZZZZZZ@Denver. This series was over after game 3. The NBA is easily the most predictable sport there is. like during the Bulls dynasty?
  23. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 29, 2009 -> 06:01 PM) I was more interested that mixed schools were farther behind than the others, I was wondering what would cause that? It would seem like they would all be struggling. My best guess is different budgets for different districts. Probably not necessarily due to race, but being under counted in the US Census could have something to do with it. If not everyone is accounted for in the Census, that means less funding for your area. That would have to mean that mixed areas avoid census takers. Again, that is my best guess.
