I would say Floyd is hotter right now, also might be the hottest pitcher in baseball.

Iverson wants to play for Memphis http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Iv...?urn=nba,174594 He must want to win. -
It seems like we play the dodgers every year, while at the same time we never play the Mets.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 07:22 PM) Well congratu-f***ing-lations to Ben Gordon for getting 5 more million over 5 years. Holding out REALLY paid off for him. Give me a break. And can you please link us to any article that says he's getting 5/60? From what I've heard, his deal starts at 9.5 and goes up at the end. Are you kidding? 5 million is a lot. -
That's a beautiful set of young core guys. I remember a lot of chicken little's (not just this board, White Sox fans in general) just a couple years ago panicking about the lack of youth. I will never doubt Kenny Williams.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) $58.68 million That's the salary cap. You want to allocate 19% of that to a guy who doesn't start? The Bulls have been built around Gordon as the main scorer for years... it's not the key to a championship. It's time for you to realize this. Doesn't start? Who cares if he is going to average 35+ mins a night. I don't see your point. Minutes played> "role" -
QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) Perhaps I'm hopelessly naive, but I don't think he's a juicer and I would be seriously bummed if he were ever exposed as one. Most of the top guys who have been (Bonds, Sosa, Arod, Manny, Palmeiro, Canseco, Clemens), I already thought of as douche bags to begin with. Albert, however, seems like a legitmate class act, in line with guys like Ripken, Junior, and Thome. The sport needs its heroes, and to me it would be a real shame. Exactly how I feel.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 03:35 AM) The 6 hours a day was for the first three months (November through early February). I don't go that long now. And I was doing that while working 35-40 hours a week as well. So other than sleeping, I really had no time for anything. After taking a few weeks off, I started going for about half that time. So my bad if I made it sound like I've been going 6 hours a day since November. Since it's summer, I can run outdoors now (and I enjoy outdoor running more than the treadmill anyway). So I do all my ab work at the gym. Along with sauna and swimming. And I'm running outside for 90 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Gotcha, 6 Hours was to get from point a to point z and 90 minutes now, to maintain point z. Good job man.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) See? Everyone knows he's a 6th man, and you just can't be successful paying a 6th man $11 mill per. Everyone here must have a NBA job. GMAFB. -
6 hours a day at the gym? That's 36 hours a week, just about a full time job. What's the rest of your schedule like if you don't mind me asking? Just curious on how you dedicate so much time. Thanks

Not trading Kirk for some value, while at the very least doing a sign and trade with BG really sets this franchise back. What a stupid franchise the Bulls have become. -

QUOTE (dbaho @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:41 PM) Well I guess Krstic ain't exactly a banger down low, so they could use another real good player on the boards. And Millsap's a pretty good defensive PF also, much better than Boozer anyways. And they've got to use their cap room now before it gets swallowed up in the Durant and Green extensions. I think Green is too valuable of an asset to come off the bench. I wonder if they would look to deal him. I do like the idea of Millisap signing if Green were to be moved. -

QUOTE (dbaho @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) Well I don't think Millsap is going to sign and not be a starter. And Durant's basically shown he's a much better player for Scotty Brooks as a 3 and not the 2 spot, plus they drafted Harden for the SG spot. Green could be a 6th man of the year if he came off the pine, but then again it could hurt the Thunder in trying to re-sign him long term, so it's an interesting balancing act they have to play here. I just do not see the point in OKC signing a 4. Jeff Green is still developing and very serviceable. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 12:18 PM) The Thunder should sign Millsap and then trade expiring contracts (Watson/etc.) for Kaman. Kaman/Krstic Millsap/Collison Durant/Green Harden/Thabo Westbrook There is no reason why Jeff green should come off the bench. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:52 AM) The fact that they pulled the contract offer last year was a pretty rough sign. On the other hand...their draft this year makes zero sense if they let Gordon walk. I understand that... I want to know what happened in the last 3 weeks that put the writing on the wall? Drafting 2 big men? LMAO -
QUOTE (Soxy @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 10:49 AM) At work we have one of those cd players where people can hit a cd and listen to part of the cd to decide if they want to buy it. Well, yesterday a woman came up to me and said "the cd player is broken, I keep clicking on one of the cds but it doesn't play." I assume someone had unplugged it, so I go over there. No, the volume was down. All she had to do was click the volume. Ugh. what's a cd player?

QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:22 AM) I think there's quite a difference between being able to see Dwayne Wise is not a major league starter than people saying Gavin Floyd might not be as good as he was last year. I don't like Wise either, but I'm going to trust the guys who have a ring. -

QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) What really bothers me though about this all, is that I think a good majority of us knew Anderson should play over Wise, that MacDougal, Lillibridge, and Broadway had no business on the roster, that Colon is finished, and that Josh Fields is not a starting 3rd baseman. My question is why is it so hard for Guillen to see all this. I know a couple of those guys cost us at least 1 or 2 wins. I know Pods has been a savior that no one and expected and you need to go through a little trial error, but if Guillen/KW realized all these things in the beginning of the year, like I think many people here saw, I think we would be sitting atop the division. And how many of those people said the same thing about Floyd, Pods and Count? -

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) How has this team not been bi-polar? We started off hot, fizzled, then really sucked, picked it back up a bit, started to suck again, and now are playing pretty good, like you said, probably the best we have all season. I'm all for being optimistic, but this has been very up and down. I disagree. This is the first time all season where we have been playing good. Wins and losses don't always tell the whole story. So without looking at things in just black and white, I will tell you that we have not been bi-polar. We have sucked all year up until a few weeks ago. imo
