  1. That's HUGE if Richard's last start is later tonight!
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 12:42 AM) Danks is younger, Floyd has better stuff. If I'd rate all for of those guys it would be Quentin, Floyd, Danks, Jenks & Ramirez. what's crazy is from that core group of players, only Jenks was in the picture at the end of 06. And it really only cost us Bmac Freddy Garcia and Chris Carter Who needs a Farm system when you have Kenny Williams?
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 12:20 AM) so do the Jags suck or are the Bills good? Cuz that was a pretty sweet win. Oakland this week, St. Louis next week, and then Arizona the next week...win 2 of the 3 and I'll be a happy camper (and I figure the game they'll lose is against Zona because they look ridiculous) You guys have one of the premier RB's in football, a good defense and a 24 year old qb who is passing the ball at a 71% clip. I think the Bills ARE that good.
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 11:59 PM) So what 2 of Jenks, Quentin, Ramirez and Danks are you putting Floyd ahead of? Q,Danks,Floyd,Jenks, ramirez would be my order. That's just how much I value starting pitching. I think tiers would be better to look at our young franchise players. Tier 1 : Q Tier 2: danks Tier 3: Floyd,Jenks,Ramirez It would be nice to see Swisher and Fields jump into tier 3 next year. I think they both may have just had off years.
  5. I realize he would probably be about the 10th pick or so amongst popularity with our fan base. However, he is one of our top 3 franchise players. I said it.
  6. HA! The Yankee announcer is mad Jeter Bunted instead of going for a hit. "He's derek Jeter! The all time hits leader at Yankee stadium!"
  7. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 07:26 PM) He's OPS has been stuck at or under .750 for most of the season, you'd hope your $20M SS would step up his game when the team is falling out of the playoff race but no he just continued to suck. He's having a dog s*** season but no one seems to care since he's Derek f***ing Jeter. But he is a 3x Gold Glove Winner!!!1
  8. Funny Jeter Broke the Yankee Stadium Hit Record on an error. I hate that asshole. Yankee fans BOO the s*** out of Arod and Jeter always gets a free pass.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 12:34 PM) God damn I love ya, AJ. we better stop before they tell us to get a room our own thread. PS. This year (with the Brady injury and the Browns looking like Puppies) I have to say NFC>AFC
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 12:29 PM) The Giants beat the Rams 41-13. I don't care when the points were scored, that's not having trouble. Steve Alert!
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) Giants, are you kidding me? They had enough trouble against the Rams (possibly the worse team in the league, along with the Chiefs). The Eagles/Cowboys are both head and shoulders better than the Giants. This time last year the giants were 0-2. How far fetched is it to say that the defending Superbowl Champions will win their division after starting 2-0?
  12. was at yesterday's game. Really surprised at the turnout of our fans. Good job
  13. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:47 AM) I wouldn't say all that, especially since this team most likely won't have a real test until Week 8 at Pittsburgh. I still think Dallas takes it. The flashy offense is great. But a great D is like great pitching and I can't say Dallas has that right now. They will be New England 2.0
  14. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) Big, big win there. Westbrook's fumble definitely the turning point. Defense has quite a bit to work on though, especially stopping the run. yeah, cowboys D looked like bears O. The Giants have to be the favorites for the division IMO.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) I agree with Jason. The Packers were sloppy, played about their worst game possible and still came out on top. They looked sloppy at the beginning of last season as well and ended up winning 13 games. The team is young and loaded with talent. If Rodgers can play the rest of the season within himself as he did Monday then they will win the division. doubt it
  16. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) On a side note, if this makes Youkilis win the MVP, I'll vomit. Please give it to Hamilton. Boston fans were Chanting "MVP!" for Pedroia when I attended the bos-sox game in Boston last Saturday.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) Come on Ranger!!! it's still Go Sox!!! I know. This sure makes the Griffey trade look that much better. Things can look up if Swisher can perform at career levels, Griffey Perform at a respectable pace and Carlos coming back in October,
  18. I guess it's time to say Go Bears? Bulls? NM
  19. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 10:00 PM) Why dont you gander for a minute at the numbers the sox put up against Friday nights starting pitcher Weaver. Think Johan but better. Thats how he pitches against us. Then Lackey. And then we get Halladay next week. I see easy driving ahead. The fact that the Angels have the best road team in Baseball almost throws the "home field advantage" out the window. I would be ecstatic taking 2/3 from the angels and a split from the blue jays. 7 of our remaining games are against the bitter Tigers and Indians looking to play spoiler. The Yankee series should be fun. I'm sure they are going to just roll over during their 2nd to last series before Yankee Stadium is torn down. I am just hoping we don't repeat 2003 all over again.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 09:30 PM) Seriously? Losing to one of the worst pitchers in baseball (Liz), then losing to a rookie (Bowden), and then losing a series (probably) to Cleveland was predictable? not sure what you thought I said. But I meant the stretch starting last Friday (vs Boston) as mentioned in the first post.
  21. This bad stretch was very predictable. Our schedule gets slightly easier the rest of the way.
  22. I ranked the American League Teams on a difficulty ranking of 1-28 based on Home/Road records So I broke down the remaining schedules based on the above difficulty rankings. For example: The White Sox play the redsox the next 3 games. Which is ranked #2 in difficulty so it would appear on their schedule as 2,2,2 for the next 3 games. So based on the above calculations, the toughest schedules in order would be: 1. White Sox 2. Twins 3. Red Sox I will be the first to admit the system is not perfect( you could argue the seperation between certain tiers are more difficult than others), but it is interesting to say the least. The fact that the White Sox,Twins and Red Sox have very similar Home/Road records make this more accurate. Also take note that the next 9 games for the White Sox looks to be the toughest portion of the remaining schedule. If they can get through the next 9 games they actually have a slightly easier road the rest of the way for the final 19/20.
  23. QUOTE (juddling @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 12:29 PM) Too early for a 'bucket list' joke?????????? wow. grow up
  24. This poll sucks. You should at least have the option Buyout and sign him to a new deal.
