  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) You bring the food, and mi casa es su casa...
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) Gordon 0 for 10 from the field. He's just being generous and letting Okafor win ROY...
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) He boxes out for others. Watch some Bulls games and you will see that he clears the lane for Chandler, Deng, and Antonio. His biggest problem is after boxing out to go and jump hard for the ball. It's alright. BTW, BULLS ARE CLINCHING TONIGHT. Which is why dalembert would probably not work... Finally, someone who gets it...
  4. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) Yes, offense. That's half of the game just in case you didn't know. And Curry is making enough strides on defense to warrant him getting big bucks. Pax and Skiles have taken note of this. Again, it's a money issue with you. Go be a Clippers fan if you don't want to pay him. It is because the Bulls share the ball so well(other players and coaches have said that we execute and run the best team ball in the league), we go away from Curry after the first because teams start collapsing the double teams on him and Skiles likes to get everyone going. Up until recently, Kirk was holding the ball. Curry was good the whole game when Kirk was out because Curry touched the ball on every possession(Duhon got it to him, part of being a better PG than Kirk, early in the shot clock) and was allowed to create for himself and others. If the double came, then Curry quickly kicked it out and the guy who received it would quickly shoot the jumper. If it didn't Curry just handled whoever was guarding him. This was possible by him getting the ball the whole game as opposed to just the first quarter when Kirk is in there.
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) And I seem to remember the Sixers doing pretty good when he was on the bench. Dalembert does the exact same thing that Chandler does. Catch alley-oops, and dunks for offense. There is no offensive skill set there. Wanna argue that, try going to RealGM. You'll get laughed at big time. Dally is a good defensive player, but you don't need two. Will teams be afraid to drive??? Probably not. Will teams be able to double our guards??? Yes, because there will be no low post presence to be scared of. Curry gets the job done whether you want to admit it or not. Your outside will not always fall in, especially for this Bulls team who's starting backcourt shoots around 35%. Imagine that with them getting worse looks??? Probably around 32%. Curry is a better player than Dally. Just because you don't want to pay him the big bucks is just stupid not to have a player, especially a top 4 Center(at least statistically) in the league. You have to pay him. He's only 22 and is averaging around 16ppg and that's not because he can't average more, that's because he like the rest of the team shares the ball. And Rasheed Wallace wasn't or is a great scorer??? Are you freaking kidding me??? There's a reason why he was a big acquisition. He can post up anyone in the league and he could step out and shoot the three. Brown just has him, like the rest, share the ball. Detroit has a great scoring PF and a C who gets his points off of rebounds and dunks. Curry is the 'Sheed and Chandler is the Big Ben. Great post. I agree. My only concern now is health, but they obviously need to have every necessary test to leave no doubt in their minds if they're gonna pay the big bucks... Your thoughts on duhon being a better pg than Kirk?
  6. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) sheeds the backup pg. Nope.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) Detroit have shown you don't need your C and PF to be great scorers to be sucessful in this league. 'Sheed scores.
  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) So you find a typo and respond to nothing else because you know it is the truth? Typical. *Waiting for a dumb ass remark*. Just teasing. No harm intended. Look at my original post on here. That about sums up my feelings. Edit: Actually, I'll repeat it. I think it'll turn out like maggs. We'll make a solid offer and he and his agent will want more. He's not worth the health risk, so he leaves. No need to get your panties in a bunch...
  9. C'mon, Skip. Hit a few 3's before you get blown out...
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Dalambert is worse at one thing compared to dalembert and that is scoring. That may have been too deep for me to understand. Some sort of internal battle?
  11. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) no s***. I dont know wtf he's thinking.
  12. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) In High Definition -- if you don't got it, I recommend getting it. The picture is so beautiful... Or you can invite us over. :rolly
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) now i know you like Dalembert and he is a solid player but thats dumb to think that a Dalembert/Chandler combo would be better than a Curry/Chandler one.
  14. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) The same Sam Dalembert who was being benched by the 76ers, earlier this year?? Hell no. Chandler does everything he does and is better at it. Dalembert and Chandler would just get in each other's way and that would equal no offense. I understand defense is important, but offense is important as well. Many other players have had heart problems. In fact, two pretty good players(can't remember names, but it was noted on the radio had irregular heartbeats and they were nothing more than a simple complication. Dalembert
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Jon's are fifth starter, and he kept us in the game against their number two starter (he started opening day, but in terms of best pitchers, Radke's the number two). I don't think many people, before this game, would think that we'd be in a position to win the game in the ninth (Radke vs. Garland doesn't look great on paper). A lot of those hits, too, were soft ones. Hell, did Lew Ford hit the ball out of the infield? Oh yeah, that spray hit to right, but there were a lot of soft hits. All things considered, I thought Jon pitched pretty well. I know the 6.00 ERA doesn't look great, but it could have been a lot worse. Anyone else think Pierz might get his first day off tomorrow? Tough lefty on the mound seems like the perfect time for Widge to get his first shot. Anybody else liking Jon as our number 5 over last year's options?
  16. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) At least maybe Mariotti is going to be an equal opportunity basher this year? He bashed us after the Sox won their first 2.
  17. He's the Bulls' version of maggs. Unfortunately, I'm expecting the same result.
  18. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Yeah, good defensive PGs are very hard to come by in this league. Wade has a lot of upside, but he has a looong way to go before he can be considered as a 1st or 2nd tier defender at PG IMO. So who exactly is ahead of him in these 1st and 2nd tiers of yours? Not at least putting him in your "2nd tier" seems like you're devaluing his defense. I really don't see two tiers of current PG's in front of him at all... Kidd has been dropping off this year too...
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Three years down the road who will be a better over all player? Honestly. Depends on your definition of "better overall player." If you're going to give lots of weight to rebounds and assists, lebron will probably have more because of his size and pg mentality. Better defense and steals? Jordan. Better scoring? Jordan, by far. More championships? I'll put money on Jordan. More wins? Jordan. More clutch? No answer needed... Jordan is the better overall player. Honestly.
  20. I know, I know...Chicago doesn't care much about DePaul...It's the only important coaching vacancy this year... But I figured I'd throw this out since it's been ruining my otherwise nice sports week with the Sox and Bulls continuing to win... --- U-Va. Moves Quickly in Pursuit of DePaul's Leitao Virginia Athletics Director Craig Littlepage yesterday received permission to interview DePaul Coach Dave Leitao and there are indications Cavaliers officials didn't waste much time in meeting with him. According to flight tracking data, the University of Virginia Foundation's Cessna jet flew from Charlottesville to Norfolk yesterday. Leitao, who is 58-34 in three seasons with the Blue Demons, was attending the Portsmouth Invitational, a basketball tournament of NBA draft hopefuls being held near Norfolk. The U-Va. Foundation plane then flew to Midway Airport in Chicago and returned to Charlottesville. DePaul sports information director Scott Reed said Blue Demons Athletics Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto granted Littlepage permission to interview Leitao yesterday. Reed said Leitao was on DePaul's campus yesterday afternoon. Leitao, who turns 44 next month, signed a six-year extension with DePaul last fall and the Chicago Sun-Times reported that the deal included a buyout of as much as $3 million. Leitao did not return a telephone call seeking comment. The Cavaliers are seeking a replacement for former coach Pete Gillen, who took a buyout after leading Virginia to only one NCAA tournament appearance in seven seasons. Before he was hired at DePaul, Leitao was a longtime assistant at Connecticut when current Virginia President John T. Casteen III was president at the school. Leitao was Huskies Coach Jim Calhoun's associate head coach from 1996 to 2002. South Carolina Coach Dave Odom, a former Virginia assistant, remains a candidate for the position and might be Littlepage's top choice. Odom denied a Washington Post report this week that he had been offered the job, but has admitted having interest in the job and said he met with Littlepage during the Final Four in St. Louis. --- I'm most upset that it may hurt our solid recruiting class by having our mr. michigan recruit to leave with him. I'm not a big fan of DL's motionless offense, but this may put us in a bad position heading into the Big East...
  21. fantasy playoffs...So I might need assists from Skip... Donyell still out?
  22. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) BOOM goes the dynamite!
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) I never liked him because he was from duke. Good thing we traded Brand, right? Seriously though, Deng (get well soon) is doing a solid job for the Bulls. And yeah, in my opinion he can be one of the better players from that draft...better than iguodala...Although I am not a Duke fan myself, they're obviously going to continue to provide some good players... deron/dee=langdon/avery?
  24. Anybody know that that espn insider Big Hurt article talks about?
