I think that if the Sox were on a roll, and maybe won 4 of the last 5, you leave Mags at first and hope BD can tie it up somehow. However, given the fact that they've lost 5 of 6 with virtually no offense, I would think you go ahead and take a shot at stealing second. With the propensity the Sox have shown for hitting into DP's, what do they have to lose?

Relax Peoples, our Sox were one Billy Koch inning away from taking another series 2 of 3. The D-Rays have a much better lineup than they're given credit for(Aubrey Huff is the most underrated player in the AL, quite possibly), and they play hard under Lou P. If they continue to lose series' to the likes of Cleveland and Detroit, then we have problems. My apologies if this had already been said, I didn't read the whole thread.

A guy in my fantasy league just picked up Paul Shuey. This guy could be smoking some serious crack, but is it possible that the Sox are going after him? And even if they were, would they make him the closer? My thought is hell no. Does anyone have any reason to think Shuey would be a closer here?

OK, that's what I thought. I agree he should have been ph for, but if not I am OK with it. I just didn't see why, with a rookie pitcher on the hill facing his first? batter with no out and the bases loaded, you wouldn't give Olivo the take sign with a 3-1 count.

I agree that because he's a rookie, he's going to have these types of problems. I am certainly not advocating giving up on him or anything like that. Another thing that concerned me about that particular at-bat against the D-Rays involves another blunder by Jerry Manuel & staff. If memory serves, Olivo was up with either no outs or one out, the bases loaded, and the Sox down by 1 run. If there's a rookie pitcher on the mound for Tampa, why not give him the take sign on 3-1? Olivo swung at ball four twice, both pitches being breaking balls. I think Piniella out-managed JM on that one.

Methinks the league is quickly catching on to the fact that he can't hit a breaking ball to save his life. He's Pedro Serrano with a better arm. Anyone else noticing this?

Here's an off-the-wall idea. Has Anaheim given up on this season yet? Their bullpen is loaded with quality arms, think they'd listen to offers for Percival? They'd want young starters in return, I would guess.

Schilling will never play for JR, too many labor troubles. I doubt the Mets would trade Glavine. I think the Mets would absolutely trade Glavine. They're rebuilding now, I think any vet on that team is available.
