QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) How long is Thome out? Friday most likely, he said he is already feeling better.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) You've watched enough baseball. Do you think he's hitting 94? I personally don't. I'd say 90-91, which isn't a bad thing. He's finally shown that plus breaking ball tonight, and his changeup is pretty good, too. Well the Comcast gun said 92, which is always slow. I think hes been at about 90-91 with a couple upwards of 93 by watching him with the naked eye. Either way the kid is going to be a stud. 22 year old rookie, pitches like this, composed, against the AL champs, k-ing and not walking batters. Mercy.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) Here's what the lineup might look like tomorrow: Erstad, Iguchi, Konerko, Crede, AJP (DH), Ozuna, Anderson, Molina Dye and Thome are supposed to be back. Dye tomorrow, Thome by fri.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) Come on Hawk and DJ call out Ozzie. Oh wait you both have no balls, my bad. Call him out for what? Did he injure half his team?
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 08:56 PM) C'mon Rock, he's not hitting 94. I'm happy that he's low-90s tonight, but he's not hitting 94. The gun at the park said that he did.

Well, put someone on the DL and bring me sweeney or Fields please.

Wow, if you cant see how great of a pitcher Danks is going to be, you are blind. His curve that he has featured the last two innings is more 12-6 and is NASTY. His change is a plus pitch and he has hit 94 mph on his heater tonight at the park. (the tv gun is about 2-3 mph slow) This kid is going to get better and better and better.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 05:03 PM) Anderson is the superior defender and no one will convince me otherwise. His play speaks for itself. The kid cannot read the ball off the bat, luckily he is fast enough to make up for it.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) Mack and Anderson were already in the OF and Pablo was subbed in for Dye. Even though he ended up playing LF he was still subbed in for Dye which is a terrible defensive replacement. Dye has a better arm, Pablo more mobility. either way he was subbed cause he was hurt.

QUOTE(Dan @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) What 4 American cars have you owned? The years that I mentioned are just about as solid as the come. Also 98-02 F-Body's were built in Canada. 1987 ford taurus, 1996 ford explorer, 1998 jeep grand cherokee 5.9, 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) I'm kind of hoping PJ Brown would come back for a diminished role. He isn't great by any means, but I like what he can add to the team in a smaller role. Me too. He adds a great vet presence. I could lose fatty mcfat from our bench. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 06:24 PM) Dye for Ozuna isn't exactly a smart swap defensively. It was Mack for Dye, Ozuna for mack actually.
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) He got taken out the 8th or 9th last night. I thought that was for defensive purposes and injury prevention with how wet the field was. He was due for a day off.

I wonder if the Reds will get rid of Freel.
-
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 04:39 PM) Anderson at DH? That makes absolutely zero sense. It should be-Anderson CF, Erstad LF, Mack RF, Ozuna DH. Erstad at CF you mean.

Torn labrum, Rotator Cuff and loose shoulder huh?

Anybody worried about our lefty relievers?
RockRaines replied to JUSTgottaBELIEVE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Here we go with "proven lefties" again. Hows that proven lefty stud reliever doing on the northside? Our pen has some of the best stuff in the league, thats enough to make them 10 times better than last year. Unless someone wants Jeff Nelson back. -

QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:27 PM) Sefalosha is a quicker, better guard than Hinrich. Not really. His ball handling and shoot are notches below what Kirk brings. Thabo should take Duhon's job though. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 11:14 AM) Does being slightly better and spending a lot more money count? At least they finally figured out how to get a good defensive OF in the ball game. It only took them a month to figure it out. Off the cubs board re: Prior's surgery

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:00 PM) Hey, its not just a chick car! The Eclipse that my dad drives was originally purchased by my gay brother! I must have missed this the first time through. American auto manufacturers are right up there with everyone else in terms of quality now. The perception that they're crap is still lingering from them building crap for decades. There may be some that are up to par, but in my personal experience (4 american cars) they have been crap. But as i stated, I meant American muscle cars from the years that he mentioned.

QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) Here are players with similar or worse OPS from 2001-2006 than Darin Erstad. http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/shareit/aRXn Is OPS really a great indicator of how valuable a lead off hitter is? How important is slugging PCT when your job is to just get on base and slap hits? A majority of his career has been batting lead off. He has done that to a tune of a .299 avg .354 OBP and .809 OPS (for Craig). I would say thats a pretty good line.
-
QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:34 AM) False. Whether or not he's produced leading off is irrelevant. Whether he's hitting 1st or 2nd, he's still in front of the 3-4-5 and needs to GET ON BASE, which he hasn't been doing. OH RLY. Do you happen to know his numbers as a lead off man? And hes still better defensively.
