  1. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) Ohio State cleaning up with top offensive line commitments. They currently have commitments from the top OL prospect in Ohio (Michael Adams), Florida (Michael Brewster) and Texas (JB Shugarts). Shugarts is the guy I really wanted to see in a Michigan uniform, so seeing him commit to OSU really hurts. Huge coup for OSU to start building another great line.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) Per the blog: Erstad, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Crede, 3B; Mack, LF; Uribe, SS. What the f*** is going on here? Thome DHing, Dye in RF and 2 guys in left. It's madness. So Thome is healthy afterall? Thats the new defense. Two guys in LF, NOBODY in CF. Take that baseball gods.
  3. We just cleared a spot on the 40 man. Im sure a move will be made somehow. Also if we need an additional OF'er Sweeney would probably be the logical choice.
  4. Update: I contacted a competing dealership that does not have a friendly relationship with LM. He is finding the exact same car that I was looking at previously, and is working to beat the numbers that I was given by LM.
  5. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) +1 for Quinn. I also despise Notre Dame, I almost look at them like I look at the Cubs, it seems many people root for them is because it is the thing to do. I try not to let my hatred of ND distort my opinion on prospects but the way Quinn performed in big games leads me to believe he wont cut it in the pros. Notre Dame is the cubs of college football. The bears need to draft a WR, O-lineman and some defensive guys later. Im guessing they will pick up a smaller speed back in the middle rounds as well. On espn: I dont agree with this assessment of Berrian at all 3. Wide receiver: Muhsin Muhammad turns 34 this year and he no longer has the speed to consistently beat defenders over the top. Mark Bradley could be the heir, but he has been plagued by injuries the past two seasons and Bernard Berrian is marginal No. 2. The Bears need a playmaker who has the ability to crack the top three during training camp.
  6. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) It was brand new right, I would think if places didnt have it they could order one. thats what I figured. We shall see. The story continues....
  7. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 12:31 PM) If you dont reach an agreement with LM are you gonna go to different dealerships or look for a different car? Dealerships. Ive contacted the lisle dealership as well. The problem is that LM had the exact car I want, now I have to try and find it somewhere else.
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 12:27 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2851147 What a tooldouche. Shut up already. Funny, with the hatred of the media from this fanbase, you would think some people would appreciate an athlete that constantly blasts and corrects them.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) That in a nutshell might be the 2nd biggest reason I drive cars into the ground. Car salesmen are about the lowest form of life on this planet. I HATE dealing with those people, and would rather drive something older than give them a dime of my money. They are the worst. Im now in an email battle with the GM. The key is dont fall in love with the car, and make sure if you dont like the deal, dont take it.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 05:22 AM) Russell really pushing his cause for a callup to Charlotte soon. Problem is, there's a lot of other pitchers like Gio and Jack Egbert all doing the same. Gio and Russell should be called up to AAA pretty soon. They are both excellent stuff guys who are performing well.
  11. QUOTE(quickman @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 09:49 PM) i understand why you say what you say , but really the sox need to do a better job of proving that your right. You like these guys which is fine, but most won't make it. I will gladly trade any of them for a proven player that can help me win now. The sox are great at drafting and developing third baseman to be good players but they are truly hit and miss on pitchers which most organizations are and god forbid they can develop a catcher or middle infielders. Just a note Royce Ring had simular stats and quite frankly he is a fringe guy. I can go on with more and more and so on. OH TQ, I miss your POV on here. But please dont bring up Royce Ring comparative to Gio. Royce was a closer at all levels, Gio is a young talented lefty starter, who has been very successful in the ranks.
  12. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:01 AM) I kind of hope the Claire and Charlie story line dies. They really don't help the story along. Actually, I don't really like the backstories/flashbacks much at all. I do feel the producers make the Losties look dumb though. Every chance they have to make an Other do something or tell them something, they don't. Why wouldn't they take the Russian guy hostage? Why has no one cornered Juliet and made her give them answers? Isn't anyone wondering why Juliet and Sun were gone in the morning? It just seems they are dying for answers and whenever they have someone that can give it to them (and us), they don't press for them. I think its funny that EVERYONE that crashed on this island has such great principal and an ironclad word. Everyone is always saying "no, i gave him my word."
  13. QUOTE(Balance @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 08:54 AM) I hope you get exactly what you want, at exactly the price you want! If not, you can take your business to another dealer. Just about to give another update. After I left the GM of the dealership called me and told me that the numbers I wanted were totally not doable. The funny thing is he also told me that the numbers his own finance manager quoted me were not doable. He then tried to convince me that he wasnt making any profit, my trade in was crap (which it isnt at all) and that the payments were totally off base. One of them is lying, try and figure out who. Car buying is seriously the gayest thing. They could make it so much easier than it is.
  14. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 02:01 AM) I was merely posing a question, and you provided a comparable comparison. And the only time I've ever had surgery on my foot, I didn't play a sport afterwards, but I didn't become physically inactive either; it wasn't a 9 inch scar, but they cut quite deeply. I don't recall it bleeding, but it was also like 8 years ago, so the details are a bit shady. Anyways, if yours bled through the shoe though, why did Schilling's only appear in various small amounts, never increasing throughout the game? Whatever, don't answer that, because I can keep bringing up questions like that and furthering an endless, pointless discussion. It's two different surgeries, so maybe there are differences. All I'm saying is Schilling hyped the s*** up out of that sock, and he sucked quite a few people into it with that hype, regardless of what it actually was. He could have changed the sock or the gauze, and no one noticed a thing, but it did get the hype it got, and I'm not surprised in the least. He pitched well though.
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) It's merely a question, and that type of surgery looks like it would have been wrapped up in enough gauze to not bleed through the sock. I mean, I assume that is what it looked like right afterwards; I'm sure he didn't just throw a sock on and say let's go pitch. I'm not questioning the talent and will of the player, just the character and the circumstances of him. Have you ever had surgery on a foot, and then played a sport directly afterward? I have. And it bled through my shoe.
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 07:21 PM) But from a person with a selfish, greater than god attitude like Curt Schilling? You bet your ass I do. Yeah, selfish, yeah greater than god. http://www.shadefoundation.org/bb_weekly.php http://blogcritics.org/archives/2006/05/24/220901.php http://www.charitywines.com/ http://www.curtspitchforals.org/curt/about/press.asp http://wcbs880.com/pages/92515.php?content...ontentId=212554 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/100_Inning_Game
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 07:02 PM) I'm not doubting he had trouble walking, but I just found it funny how he hyped this story trying to make everyone think he was a God. Its actually pretty impressive to come out of an invasive surgery like that and pitch so well. Also i enjoy his outspoken views on steroids in baseball and his insane amount of charity work out of baseball. If the guy wasnt on the Red Sox, many of you would have a different opinion, and thats ok.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) I remember when he talked about how he couldn't even walk the morning of the game. Haha. He had a completely stitched up foot, its not like he lied about having surgery. Foot surgery where there are that many stitches in it will swell and he probably couldnt walk the day of the game.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 06:13 PM) It needs to POUR for the Cell to be a mess. Yup. But this is also a move that allows our guys more time to rest for the series against the Angels. Solid decision for many reasons.
  20. QUOTE(Balance @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 05:20 PM) I do like the G35 coupe. I definitely do. Check out carbuyingtips.com ; it helped me when I bought my RSX. Thanks Bal!! Update: Went into the dealership and they pulled bait and switch on me for about an hour. Background on me is that im in high cost sales, so this doesnt intimidate or scare me. So after about 5 guys told me i was crazy, I asked the sales manager for a piece of paper. I wrote down exactly what I wanted, in clear terms. I wrote at the bottom, if my terms are met by tomorrow at 5pm I will purchase the car with these terms. I then signed my name to the piece of paper, put in on his desk, took my keys and left. We'll see what happens.
  21. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 05:45 PM) the field probably got practically destroyed from all the rain... I don't think the Sun would do much help. that field drains better than any field in the MLB. I think they were anticipating the storms that are about an hour away.
  22. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 04:21 PM) I don't trust dealerships without gimmicky commercials or low-budget, corny saturday morning infomercials. Actually Luxury motors has a very shady reputation on some of their higher end used cars. If this wasnt new, I wouldnt do biz with them.
