  1. QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:21 AM) CREDE HAS A HISTORY OF SUCCESS AND DOES NOT HAVE A YOUNG GUY ROTTING ON THE BENCH WHO IS BETTER THAN HIM. Brian Anderson is not better than him. Erstad has shown he is better defensively, and is producing as a lead off man.
  2. QUOTE(Allsox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:32 AM) The jury's still out in my world on Darin Erstad. Nice game last night but one good game in the last two weeks still isn't cutting it. So far this season. Batting as a leadoff man: .300 .344OBP
  3. How did we win without Ross Gload?
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) Mackowiak didn't always start for a Pirates team that had less talent than this Royals team. It's too bad wind is blowing in. If not, I'd expect 3 or 4 homers by Sox tonight. Ok, so way to compare two bench players, one who plays defense and one who doesnt. Congrats on your non-point. Seriously, come up with something that Ross Gload did that was better than getting traded? He is a 31 year old career bench player.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) How do you know how Gload is going to be? Easy, he is a career bench player that cant even start on the royals.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) Tough call, too hard to tell how Sisco is going to be. I hate watching Sisco pitch, as he always makes it seem like throwing strikes is hard. STFU Fathom. The best thing Gload ever did for the White Sox was get traded for Sisco.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) I guess I must have been in my own world when I recalled people pleading for Gload to get the chance to start in LF last year. Sorry, must have been a different player. GLOAD OR SISCO make your pick
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) Do you even post about the game anymore, or just rip on posters? Ozzie never gave him a chance to start in the outfield last year. Gload or Sisco, make your pick right now.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:14 PM) Good grief, his stuff isn't crisp so far. Any idea on his velocity? hes lost his arm slot, badly. He will get it back.
  10. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 08:07 PM) Rich Hill will return to mortality. His curveball is great, but an 88 mph fastball that is consistently up in the zone wont make it for long. I disagree. I think at times his curve is great, but he hangs it a TON.
  11. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 06:35 PM) I generally dont think leasing is good unless you can use it as a write off. Have you thought about selling your car privately to get a better value as opposed to using it as a trade in? I am the type of person who likes a new car every 2 years at least. I never own a car 5 years. Is it a serious downside having a lease? I got 20k miles in the offer per year
  12. So here is the car buying report. I went to the dealership to test drive a brand new model they just got in. I drove it, loved it and sat down for the dog and pony show. First they brought over the sales manager, the guy basically had zero sales skills, so I basically ignored his statements. As usual they offered me about 4-5k less than my trade in was worth. Now I own my car outright, which is sort of a bad idea when you want a new one every couple of years or so. Then this finance mgr comes over and tries his hand. He actually made some progress with me as we both agreed most likely I would want a new car in about 2 years. Leasing may be the way for me to go, anyones thoughts on that?
  13. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:52 PM) I'm sorry, but how isn't Grinderstad healthy right now? I just realized that this was AAArdsma's girlfriend.
  14. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:36 PM) Right now I would rather have Jerry Owens leading off than Erstad and probably Pods as well. Owens is getting on base at a nice pace in AAA
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 12:27 PM) Jason Giambi and his 155 OPS+ is waiting on deck this isn't exactly the same situation as Barry Bonds with some scrub hitting behind him or Albert Pujols last year being followed up by Jim Edmonds or an injured Scott Rolen. Alex is going to get a ton of protection in this lineup. I dont give a damn. Giambi can strike out and hit into dp's A-rod just hits jacks. You have to walk him.
  16. Why the hell havent people started walking him yet?
  17. They already said he has an injury, they just blamed it on genetics. His shoulder is uncharacteristically loose. Also the roids wore off.
  18. QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 01:30 AM) Knowing Ozzie, Erstad will likely remain 2nd once Pods comes back, and Iguchi will still bat 7th, lol. PODS isnt coming back. he will have to have surgery again.
  19. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:58 AM) thats basically how the whole thing started. Actually the story is that they were in a bar in Baltimore I believe, and they were watching a bar band. Rowand yelled "play some journey" and they did, an thats how it started.
  20. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 11:25 PM) G35's can be had in AWD. Just remember, AWD helps you maintain traction under power, but not necessarily while turning and especially not while braking. I see plenty of people flying around way faster than they should be in their AWD cars in the winter because they think AWD makes them invincible. Only the sedan can be had in AWD, the coupes are solely RWD for obvious reasons.
  21. I hope Konerko continues to show up. Erstad saved this team some runs, and also gave us some. Nice game. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) do you guys still hate Konerko and want him cut from the team? Did anyone actually say that? And he did suck, horribly. Today he didnt.
  22. I have to say something about this game tonight. Erstad may have saved us some runs with his defense.
  23. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 11:44 AM) I strongly disagree with that. Anderson has the potential to be a perennial GG'er out there. Erstad gets good reads, but his arm is only adequate and he is slow out there. Anderson has a better arm, and can get to more balls then Erstad can get to. Plus, Erstad is a lefty, which is good for LF. He may have a better arm, but Erstad's range has been exceptional, and so has his quickness. QUOTE(TheHolyBovine @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) That being said, KW failed with regard to the only significant task he needed to accomplish this winter. Uh ok. KW made some pretty awesome moves this winter.
