  1. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) who else is already sick of hearing all the heartwarming stories about the Saints season They have to do that to make up for the lack of actual help the entire area received after and during the hurricane. "if we talk about them enough on ESPN, they will forget their houses floated away."
  2. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 01:57 PM) I'd rather have Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister. I'd also rather have Maroney and Dillon. ...Atleast until Benson doesn't get the PT he deserves. Of course you would, why wouldnt you pick a Patriots tandem that isnt anywhere close to as effective as the Bears. Dillon 812 yards Maroney 745 yards T Jones 1210 yards Benson 647 yards TJ and Benson statistically are better runners than the Saints backs. Bush obviously does alot more things than most backs and will improve over time, but regardless, the Bears backs right now are better runners.
  3. mlbtraderumors=bunk You cant expect much from a cubs fan.
  4. In the wake of all of the ESPN press dedicated to talking about how great the Saints offense is, and how questionable the bears defense and offense are, its somewhat becoming lost that the Saints defense is one of the worst against the run in the league. The Bears are a running team. The bears two running backs are the best tandem ileft in the playoffs. The Saints give up an avg of 128.9 yards per game against the run. If the offense can move the ball with Jones and Benson and play action off of that, I think we have a great chance of taking the game. If its windy and cold, the running game becomes that much more important.
  5. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 10:31 AM) not a surprise, especially considering he hasn't attended a class since returning from arizona last tuesday. expect pittman to go, too. next year will be the more tradition jim tressel offense with a heavy reliance on beanie. expect that dude to get 25-30 carries a game. The defense will be better, but the offense should run the ball all day long. Chris Wells should start showing how good he really is.
  6. Also is there truth to any of those online guides where you can make 100's in gold a day?
  7. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 02:30 PM) The salaries, especially for pitchers, in this year's free agent class have been jaw-dropping by anyone's estimation, and that's with a mediocre crop of players. Next year's group will be much more talented and will draw even more insane offers. The WS organization is on record that they ain't going to join in the orgy. Satana will not be with us. I honestly believe that the prices will stay the same, its just the talent will improve for the costs. This year the talent pool was so thin, thats contracts had to be outrageous to even score a player. If there is a more saturated talent pool, i think the contracts arent quite as outrageous.
  8. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 14, 2007 -> 10:22 PM) I don't deny his achievements but I'm sure Bill Belichick, amongst many others, could take this team, in this division, to the playoffs two years in a row, and I'm sure Belichick would've beaten the Panthers last year. Just a difference of opinion, I guess. I'll give you him as a good coach, but I wouldnt want him based on what type of a person he is. Other than him I couldnt think of anyone else that stands out as a coach that would be more productive than Lovie has been.
  9. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 14, 2007 -> 10:15 PM) He's fine and well. I like him. But I'd take about seven guys over him, if they were available. Not me, he has had a ridiculous success rate since he took over the Bears. We are back to back division champions and are in the first NFC title game since the 80's. i couldnt think of anyone I would like more coaching the bears than what we have now.
  10. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 14, 2007 -> 08:12 PM) I wish Bill Belichick were our Coach. I much prefer Lovie Smith. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jan 14, 2007 -> 05:32 PM) They never used the gun before Rex, it didn't matter who the QB was. I haven't seen them use the gun in at least five years. It makes no sense, with Rex's size and the fact he used it all the time in college. Actually Rex said he doesnt like the shotgun and the only reason they put it in was the request of the O-line. So even if they really want it to be put in, Rex doesnt want to run it anyway.

    Cancelled Gems

I cant remember the name but it was an OC for older people that took place in a hawaiian hotel. Also paradise hotel, the best reality show ever.
  12. Oden was a man child today, I believe he hit all of his free throws as well. Looks like today may have some nice upsets in store.
  13. Anybody watching what Oden is doing to the Vols. Any team that short is going to have lots of problems against him.
  14. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 04:08 PM) I'd like to think this all depends on who is in line to win the lottery with the most ping pong balls. Of course, there are no guarentees, but I dont see anyone excited to jump to play for Atlanta or some s*** team like that. I just hear that he loves college and his teammates and at this point wants to stay. Of course this could all change.
  15. I like Dye and all, he is a great guy, great player for us. But is he really worth that much money? I mean this season was the tops of his career. His next best season hadnt happened since 2000. His years between 2006 and 2001 were somewhat pedestrian. His career numbers are .277 .339 .486 which should really deem his paycheck to be what the market demands right now. IMO he should be paid more than Paul Konerko who has been much more consistent since 2000 than Dye.
  16. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) Yeah, I'm not holding my breath on Brandan coming back next year. I'm just enjoying his talent while I can. He has grown another inch and is now 6'10 and has put on some muscle. Oden, Durant, and Wright are locks for the top 5. I think Oden comes back.
  17. Another project power arm. Not bad, but I still liked Stewart.
  18. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) OK Buehrle will be gone, JD likely to be gone-Do we have a guy to replace JD that can put up close to his numbers? Its not likely. His defense has also been outstanding and he could be first base insurance. This team continuing to dump players for $, unless replacements are there, is a receipe for mediocrity. They are going to have to pay someone eventually-they just arent deep in the minor leagues . I just wish payroll was not brought into EVERY comment management makes If you saw how much Schoenweiss made this offseason, spending money is not always a recipe for success.
  19. Wow, I really liked Stewart big time. Guess they thought his bat would never be good enough for the majors.
  20. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 09:16 AM) I just got back from my 9:05 AM class. In the class is Armon Bassett, Xavier Keeling, Mike White and Earl Calloway. Bassett is also in my Tuesday/Thursday class. I don't really get star struck but I think it'll be pretty neat having them in my class for the basketball season. IM sure they wont be in class very often. I had class with several players in my college career, and they went for the first day, and the last day, while the tutors for the team taught them the rest of the year.
  21. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 12:30 AM) One system that could work would be to go back to the old bowl system and restore tradition, then take the top 2 teams and play the title about a week later. The only problem is you could end up with everyone winning. For example, 2006 would look like this- Rose-Ohio St. vs. USC Sugar-Florida vs. Michigan Orange-Wake vs. Louisville Fiesta-OU vs. LSU Then you would have to make one of the other bowls a BCS game. Those are some pretty solid bowl pairings you have there. The only question is what determines who goes to the BCS title game? The funny thing is. Back in the day there was a vote to determine the national champion. Everybody hated that because it didnt allow for a game to decide, and it ended in split titles. Now we have voting to decide who plays the game, and has also ended in split titles. What really has changed other than teams waiting an extra week to play?

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 06:46 AM) I'm not saying I'd prefer a flash card because I can move it from device to device (though, potentially that is very nice feature) ... but because I can decide how much space I want to have. Question though, what kind drives do the newest iPods have? Flash drive or HD? And I'll refine my statement all together and say that I just wish the phone had removable storage of some sort. I guess I do not understand the reasoning behind using a flash card. The storage amount is much more limited than the iphone already has, and im not sure what data you are moving and to where. Obviously the ihpone has the ability to act as a portable hard drive for your computer as many ipods are able, and that woudl suffice for me. The only thing I use a flash card for is a digital camera, and I move my pics onto my laptop anyway so that wouldnt make much sense for me. Most new ipods will have the flash drives in them, because the HD skips and is not as reliable. I think the larger ipods still have hard drives at this time (though im not sure) but im positive they will move away from that.
  23. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) I really think this could be the best WR draft in history. Unfortunately that's about all that's in it. Theres some pretty solid Tackles.
  24. So, basically all of sudden change the way a pitcher has been treated all of his career, just because. Eve if he goes into a slump, dont you think Mark BUehrle works himself out of it like the rest of the world thought? He had a horrible half of baseball, yet everyone expected him to turn it around every game he went out there, probably including our manager. He has also had a tendency to win games in his career where the other team scores runs early, and we match and win the game because he focused. Dont you think that hindsight took a little too much of the driver seat when you were thinking that at the END of the season?
