QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) Wow should be a good matchup, if you can stop the 40 year old Oden, you will win. Thats what Illinois thought. You have to stop Oden, Conley, Cook, Lewis, and so on. Both teams are fairly deep, this should be a good tourney-type game. I actually think Wisco will edge them out as the Bucks look somewhat lost in their offense at this point in the season. -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 01:15 PM) LMAO Whats so funny? Did Smith's bad game last night make Brady Quinn a better player? Troy Smith by far had the worst game of his career, and spent half the game on his back. OSU was out coached and outplayed and Troy's timing couldnt have been worse. Its fairly obvious that the best QB in the draft is JaMarcus Russell. Not sure how thats hilarious to you? Maybe just need something to distract you from the dismal bball season? QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 01:46 PM) Watching the game last night I dont know what the hell OSU was thinking. Their defense must have watched the Bengals play the Colts because Ive never seen DB's play so far off and watch as Florida ran every play in front of them. As for the offense they decided that they wanted to prove they could be an SEC team with 5 WR's even after Ginn went down. Now Im gonna have to hear about the SEC for another year, when this loss was 100% Tressel. Not sure what he was thinking, but some times you just have a really bad day. Agreed. They forgot how they won the title in 2002 and how they had success this year. They should have run the ball to keep the ball out of UF's hands as much as possible and to rest their defense that obviously didnt know what the hell they were doing. Tressel appeared to get extremely cocky and decided that he could win a shoot out with a team that prefer's that style over anything. Im positive that he learned his lesson after that embarrassment. -

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 11:18 AM) You would think thats what most would do but its not true, atleast not last night. Scottsdale was dead lastnight, besides for the Florida fans. I just want to go home, my flight does not leave until 6. Most of our fans havent seen a game like that in quite awhile. Its completely disheartening to see a team that is so good, play so downright terribly. Guess its time to shift to BBall and the bears, and next years team. -

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 11:22 PM) 1st overall pick, Quinn sucks, blah blah blah. Eat it Rock. Doesnt change the fact that Quinn does still suck, but Smith played his worst game of his career on the biggest stage. He really killed any hype he had at that point. Russell is obviously the best QB in the draft, hands down. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 09:44 AM) What a f***ing joke that was....I am beyond miserable. OSU got outcoached, outplayed, out everything.... They forgot who they are, and totally were outclassed. I havent seen them play that bad in quite awhile. It should be a wake up call to the younger guys in the program. -

Posting from the game. OSU hasnt played this bad in 10 years, and picked the wrong time to do it. Troy Smith has the worst game of his career. -

I dont understand why everyone thinks BMAC is so great because he is "proven." When he came up from the minors to pitch with the Sox he was only 21 years old. That season he put up a 4.03 ERA in 67 innings pitched. After all of that work in the majors we all said that he should automatically be put into the starting rotation in 2006, and we upset when KW traded for Vaz. Danks is 21 years old and will be 22 in April. He has had very similar numbers to BMAC throughout the minors except he is considered to have a higher ceiling. Is it really that out of the question to think that Danks at age 22 could put up about the same if not better numbers than BMAC did in his first taste at 21 years old? Its not like this guy is 16 and BMAC was a 30 year old vet when we brought him up. They are similar guys, with similar stats and now Danks is being brought along at the same age we promoted BMAC.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 8, 2007 -> 11:30 AM) They were relying on far worse arms. The closer by committee approach would work if you had the talent and depth to do it. This bullpen could be that type of a bullpen.. or it could be similar to the 2003 pen. If they had talented arms in the pen, they wouldnt need to close by committee. its hard to see a rainbow in this situation, even if i am you.

SO JaMarcus Russell should be the consensus #1 pick right? -

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 7, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) The bowl game yesterday and the one tonight don't belong after New Year's, everyone knows it. I agree that the wait is a bit much. Just pointing out that it is only one day after the rest of the games, thats all. -

JaMarcus Russell to enter NFL draft. Louisiana State quarterback JaMarcus Russell will skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft in April. A news conference is scheduled Wednesday to announce the decision, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Sunday. Russell, a 6-foot-6, 260-pounder from Mobile, Ala., was the nation's No. 3-ranked quarterback in passing efficiency this season. He threw for a career-high 332 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers' 41-14 victory over Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday night. Russell will finish his LSU career with 6,525 yards and 52 touchdowns in three seasons -- two as a full-time starter. -
QUOTE(T R U @ Jan 7, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Carpenter wont be better than AJ Hawk, he could possibly become a good LB but better than Hawk? Thats not happening, Hawk had a great rookie season and showed signs of being a very good LB IM telling you, from watching both of them every snap in college, I always thought Carpenter would be better, and I thought he was senior year as well. Its a hunch, nothing more.

Great info there Gene, for people who dont follow minor league baseball as much as some. -
Well, Romo-mania died a little tonight. Seattle's secondary needs to repair it self if they want to make a decent run.

I still think this was all a bad translation and he will play this year.

Carpenter will develop into a good pash rusing LB you just watch. He may take a season or two, but all in all, he is better than AJ Hawk who was drafted before him.

Detroit and the spurs have to be one the most annoying teams to watch play. They actively pursue getting fouled and whine the whole game for the calls. -
The chick who has no lines in the car buying commercial where the guy reads the add and says the car is a real classic. I think its a cars.com commercial. Shes hot.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 6, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) This isn't surprising. When the Illini were trailing in the middle of the 2nd half against powerhouses like Idaho St. and Florida A&M, you could tell something was wrong. Bruce Weber is the worst recruiter among the BCS basketball programs, and it's catching up to him. Well, he still deserves a little time to fill the roster with a couple classes, but it appears he is behind the 8 ball so far. Illinois was due for 1 or 2 down seasons and this just happens to be the start. Its alarming at first when your team needs to rebuild, but its a neccessary evil.
