  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) Which has zero to do with preparing for this game. The fact they are playing like sh*t doesn't change the fact that Michigan had a gripe to play on Jan 8. Still at it huh? Even though you had your Big Ten title game, had to win it to make it and didnt. Michigan just isnt good enough to be called or even considered the best team in the land, period. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) I'm not so sure preparation is as much the problem as USC exposing Michigan's secondary, especially Morgan Trent and Willis Barringer. OSU did the same thing. USC is doing a good job of rolling the pocket away from Lamar Woodley, making him ineffective. USC is just extremely talented and when they are focused, they are damned good. I think they would have made for an excellent matchup against OSU. Over 350+ yards in the air two games in a row? yeah I would say their main weakness has been exposed, that and the horrible coaching for big games of Lloyd Carr.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 06:19 PM) All of Soxtalk would be a much better place if we could find out who those two girls are and see some more pictures. two broads from ASU.
  3. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) Michigan showing why they weren't selected to the championship game. USC finally opened up Tressel's game plan on how to dismantle Michigan's swiss cheese secondary. The b****ing from Ann Arbor has all of a sudden dissapeared.
  4. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 02:27 AM) Rex Grossman can't handle the Packer defense, Apparently either could Griese. Benson was the only player to show up for the game last night.
  5. k,anyone to play tomorrw?
  6. You know im nominated this year.
  7. f***ed up, yet happy NY
  8. Dont you people understand that this game didnt matter, nobody cared, including the players.
  9. Not only is the traffic bad tonight, but I wouldnt feel safe being on the same road as some of those morons who think drunk driving is the way to get places.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) I think Alex actually had a better record of avoiding injuries when he hit FA than Johan currently has had, FWIW. Someone is going to give Johan 7-8 years and $20-$25 million a year if he keeps this stuff up. And I bet whoever does it will wind up regretting 4-5 of those years. I can see anyone regretting signing the best pitcher in baseball to a contract.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) Every pitcher is a huge risk long term. The White Sox were prepared to go a lot of years for Alex Fernandez, but luckily didn't get the chance. They liked the fact he was young and had impeccible mechanics. He blows his arm out a couple years later. I can't see the White Sox ever offering more than 4 years for any pitcher, except maybe they would go to 5 for Santana. Other teams would go to 7 or 8 though. Jesus, did you seriously put Santana in the same sentence as Fernandez?
  12. Nothing I like seeing more than a Redhawk pass to a buckeye to send the Cincy Convicts home for the season. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) How fast have the Cowboys gone from looking like world-beaters to either losing to or barely eeking out a win over the Lions (if the Cowboys manage to come back)? They were never world beaters, ESPN just said they were.
  13. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 10:05 AM) The White Sox will never sign Johan Santana. We don't take that kind of risk. What risk? Risk of him winning more Cy Youngs? This is the one guy that yo pay the roof for.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) No offense, but we don't have anyone that could get that package. We've seen what we've gotten for our pitchers this offseason, and that package isn't even on the same planet as what we've gotten. We havent really traded anyone close to the planet of Buehrle.
  15. anyone want to play tonight?. im a lvl 15 hunter.
  16. One of the best pitching prospects in baseball and armed with 95-mph heat, Pelfrey should get a chance to earn a rotation spot with the Mets out of spring training. At 22 and entering just his second pro season, though, he likely needs some time in Triple-A. He shouldn't stay there long and will be a rookie of the year candidate for a Mets club that will contend and score ample runs for him. Until he gets command of his secondary pitches (now a hard slider instead of a curve), he will be a middle of the road Fantasy starter.
  17. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 11:41 AM) Probably a half-season or a full season. He's probably about where Danks is. So if you make that trade, our rotation moving forward is anchored by Danks, Pelrey, Gio all making minimum amounts of money?
  18. How close is Pelfrey, I was under the impression the guy was almost ready to make the jump.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) That's kind of out there. I mean, it's a major rush, to think that kid makes it. Seems radical in kind of a tubular sort of way, but most of all, it seems out there. -- I think it's entirely possible that Danks makes it. I know, its just one of those things that sometimes happens. I just have a feeling.
  20. I know this sounds really strange and maybe a bit out there. But I think Danks dominates iN ST and makes a run at the team.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 27, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) Technically its true. But Tate has upset quite a few big time Hawkeye fans. That said people have quickly forgotten how good he was for 2 years in the program and that a big reason for our struggles this year was our lack of any receiving core and a healthy Tate (he was never 100% this year). But remember, he will leave Iowa with a win!!! Tate is one of the most overrated, hotheaded QB's in the game today. I have never seen a QB unravel himself so quickly in a big game. The guy hurt IOWA more than he helped them IMO.
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 27, 2006 -> 03:19 AM) Yeah, they had the best until Ellis got hurt, the Bears were 2nd until Harris got hurt. The exposition of both will come in the playoffs though. Take the Saints/Eagles as the NFC Super Bowl rep to the bank. Oh, and Madden doing the game Sunday with Brett Favre=hurls. Hahaha, face it man, they NEVER had the best front 7.
  23. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Tracy + 2 spects for RJ is a steal for the Yanks. Tracy can play at 1B, and rotate in the OF, and then they sign Zito with the money they save from trading RJ. I dont see AZ giving up a package like that fort RJ> I would offer one ok player, and if they dont take the offer, oh well, leave them with his 43 year old arm and his inflated salary. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) According to KFMB in San Diego, Chad Tracy is involved in the trade talks. IN fact, I think that is the media trying to drive up the price on RJ. call it a hunch.
