  1. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) When our offense is one of the top 5 in baseball why do we continually rip BA? We need every stitch of his defense in CF to help catch the hard hit balls off of half our staring rotation right now. Because some people on here feel their day is empty without b****ing about something.
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) He has? We could've kept Duque if a 5.20 era is fine for a 5th starter. It sure would be a lot cheaper, and we could've kept Chris Young. Yes, he has. He easts innings and keeps us in games. BMAC is more valuable as a set up man, and we have te 2nd best record in baseball.
  3. classless cubs fans throwing garbage on the field.
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) For a guy hitting .170, not getting the bunt down is unacceptable. Unf***ingacceptable. I'm just about done with this experiment. I've said all along that if he can't make productive outs and move the runners over, he no longer needs to be in there when it counts. What happened today is embarassing. Gooch didnt get a bunt down, either did pods. Give it a rest.
  5. QUOTE(valponick @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:03 PM) Expensive or not, I'd rather see Brandon in there right now. He would do a better job. What makes you think that? Javy has been fine as a 5th starter? QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) And then when McCarthy struggles, it'll be time for someone else, maybe a trade. And then if the guy the Sox trade for struggles, it'll be "what a horrible trade that was" and we'll all splooge all over the guy they traded away. It gets old. You'd never guess this team was 52-27. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  6. Seriously, we are going to lay into some of Maddux's 85 mph junk.
  7. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) Mine is on the 29th, Saturday which I is perfect. Me too. IM def playing some catch on the field.
  8. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) I wouldn't criticize Pods for not diving for a ball he couldn't catch. Even if I thought he was dogging it, I'd rather see him dog it and give up a single than to dive and miss, turning a single into a triple. Ah yes, hindsight, beautiful retort. BTW, it would have been a double if he didnt dive.
  9. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) Podsednik needs to stop diving at balls he can't reach. WTF. If he didnt dive you would be all over him for giving no effort. WTF.
  10. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Brian could learn a thing or 2. I think Brian has put several great swings on the ball today, just got unlucky.
  11. Terrible news. I loved Randy Walker, from his days at Miami especially. He was a hell of a guy.
  12. Seriously, I like Stewart to come up before we make a trade for an effing backup cather.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) No Not mid 90's?
  14. If you really dont like Widger, Stewart would be the next person to join.
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) There should be more urgency then to do something about it. I hope people realize that if Minnesota develops or trade for several offensive pieces they're set. Mauer obviously won't be hitting at his What happens when Matt Garza, their stud AA pitcher, develops and one day enters Minnesota's rotation? We may encountering the starting rotation from hell. Detroit isn't exactly taking a step back. I just wish I had some inclination that something is being done to develop legitimate talent. Ideally in Latin America, where everything is fair game for those willing to search. I realize we've developed a baseball academy in Venezuela. That may one day reap benefits. It's just remarkable to me how little our scouts from Latin America has done. Not even our Futuresox crew could deny that. So, I guess we should be shopping AJ for 2 stud pitchers right now? Because thats how the twins got him.
  16. Never get caught, people in michigan just dont care.
  17. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) ESPN just said jose has been topping out at 84 and 85... saying they suspect an elbow issue? the game wasn't broadcast in my area... is this true? hahahahaha, thats the biggest load of crap I have ever heard.
  18. Flash, Doesnt McCulloh throw heat? And wouldnt the pressure be on our GM to trade our starting catchers for prospects like the twins did for Liriano? Of course since we arent a small market team, we trade our prospects instead of trading starters for prospects, but I guess that doesnt matter when placing blame.
  19. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) I think you and I are the only ones that support him on this board....LOl All Bulls fans should be extatic after what Pax pulled on Portland...most Bulls fans are :rolly Good thing Pax knows what he is doing Hey, dont generalize, I love the moves.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) Johan 9-4 2.59 ERA 124ks .96 WHIP .216BAA Liriano 8-1 2.21 ERA 82ks 1.10 WHIP .212BAA vs Mark Buerhle 9-4 3.22 ERA 47ks 1.25 WHIP .262 BAA Count 8-0 3.44 ERA 68ks 1.17 WHIP .235BA The count when he is dominant/everything is going for him throwing strikes/etc/ is in the league with the Minny pitchers. But right now the numbers are well in those guys favor. Better stat Sox 452 runs scored 353 runs against Twins 375 runs scored 355 runs against.
  21. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) No thanks. SHe looks a little too much like Paris Hilton for my liking... She looks a little too much like hot for my liking......wait
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) Point is they haved killed eveyone for the entire month. There aren't a lot of good teams out there. We lose games to bad teams which can hurt us at the end of the year when we are battling for a playoff spot. Umm, we have killed everyone for a month, where have you been?
  23. QUOTE(zygoat @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 02:52 PM) yeah we needed to try and keep up with the tigers. They are blowing through everybody and not slowing down. We need to beat a s***ty team like pittsburg They are due to lose, just like the Pirates were due for a win.
  24. QUOTE(JohnStamos @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) Well if you're gonna get beat by anybody, Thome's not a bad person to get beat by. He has pitched real well this season on a horrendous team that could have very well made him lose focus. I'd still take him as added depth to the BP right now... Polite, Riske, and BMAC are better options, for free.
