  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 03:40 PM) Which makes it suck even more that he chose Duke They will be very good again, but one and dones can be problematic as we have seen.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 02:21 PM) Seriously though, do you guys think that is selfish of me, to play golf? She has said she wants to lay on the beach all day anyways for the honeymoon. Nope. A little alone time would probably be fine. Two rounds may be pushing it.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) golfing on the honeymoon, off to a good start What's a honeymoon?
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 02:15 PM) With the downfall of the Canucks, the Blues might be the dirtiest team in the NHL right now. +Philly.
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 02:09 PM) Eh, that was pretty classless, I'm not a fan of stuff like that when guys are clearly injured/dangerously injured. Not the first time the Hawks have done this. And now, before you say "every team in the league talks s***," there's a difference, IMO, between talking s***, and chirping when guys are seriously hurt. I have to draw the line somewhere. Believe me, I don't like Backes either. Keith's a great player, but he's a total dickhead. He may have not known that the hit was dirty, perhaps, but even so, it's just unnecessary. I don't get anything from it. Blues haven't done anything similar to that this series, so it's OK that the Hawks get called out for that. You have no idea what they've said on the ice and they've shown over the course of basically your entire lifetime that they are a classless organization. One hit doesnt change any of that. The Hawks are a team who have won cups with skill over bulls*** hockey teams like that twice now, and there is no reason to forget that.
  6. LOL, I like how the media has completely forgotten the Blues are one of the dirtiest teams in the league because they think Keith trash talked Backes. Come on.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 11:51 AM) Wedding is this weekend...really looking forward to Maui... So you guys think a car is a must there? Still time to run away

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 12:20 PM) That's another topic, pretty much everyone in the books is a vicious douchebag. But that's kind of my point. The wildlings turned out to be not that much different than the civilized folks south of the wall. And in the show, especially last night, they seem to be sneaking away from that.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 11:32 AM) The Wildlings are absolute savages. The Thenns were the only ones with some form of hierarchy because they were descendants of the first men. They're still barbarians that rape women. They just do it with primitive armor. What house doesn't rape and pillage? They slipped over a lot of the wilding storyline but I hope they come back to it when well...
  10. QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 12:04 PM) As a Buckeye fan, I've been a huge fan of Pryor since he signed with OSU. I personally haven't seen much improvement in his passing ability. He's always been a freak athlete, but that only gets you so far as a QB. If Trestman could work his QB magic, I'd love it, but I fear it'd just be a waste of a roster spot. They remade his entire motion and it's better but he shows little to no touch.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) Okafor is going to be absolutely dominate in college. He's so far ahead of most big men his age in terms of footwork and touch. He's got Sullinger type skills with more height and athleticism. I can't see how he doesn't dominate.

QUOTE (bshah723 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 10:40 AM) Why is that? Because the book didnt dehumanize them as much as the show is, they also merged like 10 clans into one man-eating one in the show.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 09:15 AM) They had a deep run (lost in WCF) in 09 and won the Cup in 2010 with the Olympics. All the good teams had multiple players in the Olympics. I don't believe any of that. Down 3-1 to the Wings last year, they came back. That said, this is a vastly inferior team from last year. That said, one win and it's (obviously) 2-1 and the series is well within reach. Defensively this team is lazy IMO and Seabs being gone after having a very strong season isnt going to help anything.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 09:29 AM) GOT was very solid again last night. Biggest issue I had was with Jamie and Cersei's "scene". I didn't like the timing of it and it was very different from the book and not in a good way, I HATE the way the Wildlings are being portrayed.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) I'm not really happy about it. To me it looked like the hit was made much worse by A/ Backes ducking and leaning back at the last second to try to avoid the hit, and B/ Seabrook turning to avoid driving through him. But you knew this was coming after the way everyone freaked out about the hit, and that Backes is probably out for a while. Agreed but if Backes is out at least that long it makes sense to me. It wasnt as dirty as Wiz's hit on him a few years back but definitely wasnt legal so 3 games is that "middle."
  16. 3 games for Seabrook. I don't agree with it but that's probably the amount of time Backes is out so it makes sense.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 06:17 PM) It sure seems that way but it'd be silly to count them out. They've had some pretty crazy comebacks over this 5 year run so it'd be ridiculous to assume they're done. Once the road team wins s*** gets real. Until then I don't assume anything.
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) See, you basically make anything you say irrelevant as it's coming from a point of hate for Backes. Be objective. It was one hell of a dirty hit. Backes didn't drop down, he was at a normal level. Seabrook came up. He left his feet as contact happened. But, again, the main point in this whole thing...principal point of contact = head. Onus is on the guy giving the hit. I've seen plays like this reviewed for the past 2 years. What's hilarious is if this was say, Jackman on Toews, everyone would be going OMFG KILL HIM SUSPEND HIM 50 GAMES. I meant Seabrook. I detest him. Head shot should be a game. But he was still on his feet when he delivered a hit to the front of Backes.
  19. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 05:49 PM) Hold on a minute there. Bad luck? Let's recap: 1) It's easy interference, as the puck is nowhere near him. 2) Principal point of contact is the head. Rule 48 to an absolute T here. 3) His feet may or may not have left the ice prior to the hit, but definitely after. As such, he was projecting upwards. So the only thing missing here is a clear jump. 4) For emphasis, because it's what matters - the principal point of contact was the head, and no it doesn't matter whether it was a shoulder instead of an elbow. Irrelevant. 5 and a game was the right call. Now he'll get suspended for 3ish games, which will also be the right call. Let's call a spade a spade here. Bickell with a stupid and dangerous penalty followed by Seabrook with one of the dumbest hits I've seen in a while out of a Blackhawk. He took a "free" shot at Backes and cost the team the game, possibly the series. Hope it was worth it. Yes a head shot because Backes changed levels and dropped down to the shoulder level. Clearly a penalty. He's my least favorite player but I don't think it was nearly as bad as everyone makes it to be and shouldn't be a suspension.
  20. QUOTE (lord chas @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 05:26 PM) This Hawks team is done. At least 2 game suspension for Seabrook The question is. Which series did you post this last year? Detroit?
  21. Gotta win next two. That's it. Should have taken at least one of these.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 05:00 PM) Could be up 2-0. Maybe down 0-2 instead. As nice as it is to destroy Backes you just cannot take the risk there. That much power play time is murder.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 19, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) Big difference in a dirty hit and a bad hit that is deserving of the penalty. It was a penalty but not as bad as everyone acts like it is. Guy had his head down and got lit up.
  24. Bad luck his head was that low. Shoulder, still on the ice. s***. Gotta be a little more aware.
