  1. Blues fans love the hit, miss the wide open shot by Toews.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 09:30 PM) Rather have anybody over Handzus Pirri?
  3. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 09:31 PM) Steverson. Flowers apparently went back to his style he had with ATL. Which brings the question up, why did we change that?
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 09:25 PM) Could be. I've been told people in the org believe his senility will make it easier to get rid of him soon.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) What a bulls*** call. Teammate lifts opponents stick into his face. Awesome. Clearly they felt they needed to even up the calls.
  6. The Blues would be so good if they didn't care about winning the hit battle.
  7. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) Meh, tigers do it with Verlander all the time. I understand Sales mechanics I'm not concerned about that. It's just a lot this early.
  8. Maybe I'm new school but that's a lot of pitches.
  9. They also haven't had Ott long enough to know he's a diving b****.
  10. Blues fans cheering for hits while the hawks have a breakaway at the other end.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 07:58 PM) When did Ryan Miller start sucking at goaltending? Good news for the Hawks He was bad against the west when they traded for him.
  12. People may hate Andrew shaw but St. Louis has a team full of shaws
  13. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 09:56 AM) We're not talking about giving up players with upside at this point, are we? I mean, I know we're 7-6 but we're not all of the sudden rolling in talent here. I'd rather roll with what we've got than make any trades at this point, unless we're talking about trading Alexei/De Aza. Dont worry, the Sox arent trading off talent for stop gap relievers.
  14. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) Beckham's power diminished because he completely rebuilt his stance. It's also the only way he can make consistent contact. If there is any player where you can clearly see a mechanical issue its Beckham.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 10:50 AM) Maybe in a couple of months. Today? Nope. Yeah they really dont need to "do" anything right now.
  16. Like I said a few weeks ago, Webb has been tagged by mgmt to have the role by summer unless Lindstrom turned out to be dominant.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 10:03 AM) I agree they shouldn't release Downs, but based on his performance in spring and so far this season, a two week phantom injury wouldn't hurt anyone. My main point is, yes, have realistic expectations about this team. But in the process, maybe not say how bad this team is at every turn. Because they are not a bad team. And baseball is a weird game. You never know what might happen. Any vets that dont have a slot on this team in 2-3 years are simply trade fodder at this point, so hope for a rebound.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 09:44 AM) Yes, the Sox shouldn't go out and try to fix something right now. Like trading Beck or Jaye for a bullpen arm, or something like that. That would be dumb. But this is baseball, and the offense is producing and the rotation has 3 good pitchers, including a true ace. There's nothing wrong with tinkering with the pen and trying to fix some problems internally. As far as "this team isn't contending", again, what fun is that for a fan? Hell, they could have had the same attitude in 1990 with a young team. What did they do? Had a really fun team that over achieved and won 94 games. Now, will this team win 94? No. But in the era of the second wild card, 88 wins isn't out of the question...especially in mid-April. They arent going to replace Paulino or Johnson was my point. We still dont know what we have there.
  19. You guys need to focus on the fact this team isnt contending, we arent going to "fix" an issue this early in season when we need development.
  20. We arent going anywhere fast, lets see who can play.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 11, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) What TV do you have, Rock? The new one that is. Part of me wants to stay plasma because it's better for sports, part of me wants to go to LED since it's lighter, will be easier to mount (never done that before), no burn in/red hot. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BCGRTGY/ref=wl...5MTOO&psc=1 Great deal and its pretty damn good. I had to configure it for hockey and golf so I dont have the "real" effect from smoothing.
