  1. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 12:24 PM) I should have clarified that I meant of the big 3. In general, I don't hear anywhere near as much lamenting and gnashing of teeth about Delta as I do United or American. Chicago isn't a hub, but there are plenty of flights in and out of here. It wasn't so much based on any statistics or anything, but when I googled, I found: http://www.jdpower.com/content/press-relea...ction-study.htm http://www.theacsi.org/?option=com_content...&i=Airlines FWIW, ranking highest of the big 3 is like being the tallest midget- Carriers like Alaska Airlines/JetBlue/Hawaiian are always going to rank higher, but those carriers have a different model than the big ones. Delta flies to Detroit from here but other than that I've only used it to Cincy (horrible expensive) and a small east coast airport. Its usually sucked. United always has so many options if I have to go out of O Hare.
  2. Hiding my TV wires this week in my wall now that I have the proper tools. Not using a wire pull since I should be able to drop them straight down. WE'll see.
  3. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 11:19 AM) A little surprised to see Delta mentioned as a least favorite- they seem to be the best regarded overall in terms of US Carriers. I don't really have any bad experiences, but I don't fly too often. United/Delta/Southwest are probably the ones I would go for first. The best way to save yourself some misery is to make sure you're not booking a flight on a Regional Jet (eg United 3653 operated by GOJET AIRLINES DBA UNITED EXPRESS). There's no doubt, though, that US Carriers are brutal when compared to many international carriers. Regarded by whom? They only really fly consistently to their hubs and they arent anywhere near here.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 11:05 AM) Rock, saw some rumors that Mitchell is backing off of his commitment to OSU since he and his brother may want to stay closer to home. I assume if this happens then Matta goes all out for Bragg. His brother is transferring most likely as their father is sick, so Mickey is probably gone as well. Matta is already all over Kennard, Bragg and VJ King as their 3 top players the next couple of years. Not sure he gets any of them.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) And revenue means zilch without ability to have margins and actually make sustainable profits. Look at what companies would have to actually do from an overall performance perspective to sensibly be worth what the multiples are, etc. It is impossible. Maybe one of them pans out and becomes some huge thing, the rest will come crashing back down to reality. Again, I'm not saying they will be bad companies.....no no no. A lot of these are very good, sound companies, what they aren't are 20B companies and companies that are going to become mainstays on the fortune 100 lists, fortune 500 lists, etc. I agree with you there. Lets just hope we get up to the 100 bucks workday is trading at so I can pay off my mortgage and then some.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 10:18 AM) It was the norm back when the last tech bubble happened to. Doesn't make it a right decision. Same thing with the housing bubble. It was the norm back then to value companies based on an idea with no execution. Nowadays you have to at least have 100 mil in revenue in my industry to think about IPO. It takes a lot of success to reach 100 mil in annual revenue. Thats the main difference I see. Idea companies arent getting valued at billions of dollars.
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:59 AM) The NSA scandal has exposed most of the standards in use as inadequate and easily crackable, as there is always a point where the data resides in an unencrypted form, and that's the area of target. I'm sure there are some encryptions that aren't so easy to break, but most aren't using them, and once again, when accessed by a user, it inherently needs to be unencrypted. And of course, the easiest part to crack remains the people not to mention their use of overly simplistic passwords. So I'm not exactly sure what's confusing about my statement. Its confusing because SAML is neither easily crackable nor inadequate. Its a one time token with expiration. If you are talking about once you are in the application, then encryption may be what at times is easier to crack since you have a long session and data is pretty easy to tap into. That why companies like ZScaler are making coin with cloud adoption.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:43 AM) The biggest barrier to entry into cloud services will be trust, and since modern encryption/security standards have been exposed as "not ready yet", a lot of these companies will run into trust issues, and once this sort of trust is broken, without playing this properly to the media, you may lose people in droves... Hell, look at the 19 billion dollar WhatsApp...they had a 3 hour outage the other day and it's direct (and free) competitors were signing people up by the millions...because of a short outage. huh? SAML has been ready for YEARS and is implemented across the board. OAuth and OpenID Connect are not far behind.
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) Honestly...now that you mention it, this is going to become free and ad-supported. But its not just "storage." Its Document Management software and it's moved into the enterprise industry where there requirements for indexing, sharing and discovery that goes much further than what consumers use it for. Companies are paying big bucks for cloud-based document management that is intelligent. Consumer-based subscriptions will still be there for larger and more fully functional instances but the basic plan may always be free if only to hook people into the software.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:29 AM) Clowney would play OLB in Houston. No doubt in my mind now though that Mack is the #1 defensive player in this draft. There was talk early on of the hometown kid staying home. That's not going to happen anymore. Mack was DOMINANT against my boys early in the season. Picked off a ball and outran the fastest player on Ohio State. Great athlete.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:09 AM) I think Gilbert and Dennard are the clear #1 and #2 CBs in this draft. Gilbert has all the measurables you look for. I really like Dennard. Very physical and knows how to disrupt a WR. Will be a good one.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 08:42 PM) Ummm...revenue isn't all that great of a metric if you aren't turning a profit. They have thin margins and aren't profitable. Thats kind of the norm these days for start ups. You are putting every single dime back into dev and your people. We arent profitable but we are going IPO and will have a nice valuation. Tech companies are like that.
  13. Wow, Dennard from MSU is a lot faster that many folks thought.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 06:57 PM) Thanks for adding that, SS....you know, I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want feedback, but Jesus, no need to be rude, people. I'm positive you'll have a blast.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) So are non-broken fingers. I've gotten more hurt in 12 in. That ball is hard as hell. Have you ever played 14in?
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 03:02 PM) 16 inch softball sucks. Ah, no way, its the best. Gloves are for girls.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 02:03 PM) Jesus Christ that's heavy. I have a 38oz too if you want to get real beastly. Its all about weight when playing 16in
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 02:27 PM) I'm assuming he's one of them because only 5 were eligible. He "barely" qualified this year which leads me to believe that could be bs. Damn. All from an anonymous phone call?
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 01:48 PM) Curie and cliff maybe screwed Who was the ineligible player, was it him?
  20. Really disappointed Shazier hurt his hammy, his 40 time was going to be ridiculous. 42 in vert is already crazy.
  21. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) That's pretty epic. We were looking through all the pages for the money thinking it was a joke. It was not a joke.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2014 -> 09:37 AM) My last comment was sarcastic. You need to understand there is a difference between knocking a company and knocking the valuation of the Company. I have no issue with either company and i happen to use dropbox. I just have a problem with the absurd valuation and acquisition costs which are indicative of a gigantic bubble. That is all. Yes but understanding the product and the market for owning company data is something you are ignoring. The ability for someone like DropBox or Box or even Google to own and manage all of a company's documents and IP is very valuable. And DropBox is about to get another round of funding shortly.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 01:31 PM) He's also a much different type of player too, using strength and body size to get penetration. And even still, a 4.84 for a guy that size is still incredibly impressive. It's possible that Clowney isn't the freak we all once thought of him as, but he's still an incredible talent and I'd still take him top 5. Watt is a different player because of his motor and toughness, I would bet on that a lot more often than a guy who dogged his last year in college because he didnt want to get hurt (allegedly). Clowney's ceiling to me is Dwight Freeney, but Freeney actually produced like a mad man as a senior (17.5 sacks) before he was drafted even facing double and triple teams all season long.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 01:12 PM) Well you can make an argument that JJ is one of the top 3 or 4 players in football, so ya. And he ran a 4.84 40 at the combine
