QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) Wisconsin is exactly it. Just haven't found a guy that's nearly Alvarez. Zook wasn't, it appears Beckman likely isn't. They got by with Bert as a figurehead and now Andersen who appears to be the real deal. There is something missing from the ILL athletic office and I believe its knowledge of how to develop a football program. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 12:43 PM) HC opening has been filled. You're welcome. Lots of folks were predicting Tressel. Guess not. -
Brody rehabilitation was remarkable, it was almost like a training montage from Rocky.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) Absolutely agree with this. Zook would kill it as a recruiting coordinator. It is generally really hard for someone who was a head coach for 10 years at BCS level programs to check their ego and do that though. Miami U has a HC opening this offseason, he can return to his roots. -
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) Which one? I got 7 TVs between Friday and yesterday. There was a backlit LCD from samsung, 50 in for about 500 bucks, its up to 700 now.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 10:10 AM) Did someone remind Crean that 'Cuse plays zone? Someone should text him. He still cant figure it out. I am not sure they have the shooters to counter it yet. -

Dammit, I knew I should have pulled the trigger on a TV yesterday, price increased almost 200 on the one I wanted for my other bedroom.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) So I gave in the weekend shopping crazy and got this bad boy on Saturday. http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN46F5500AFXZA It's going to take a while to unleash its full potential that's for sure. Nice I have a similar one. Make sure you surf the internet for the config specs. I had to make a lot of tweaks before I got it the way I wanted.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:10 AM) The Fast and the Furious is guaranteed a better movie than Gangster Squad. Gangster Squad was complete trash and nothing about Gosling's role was "for art" or whatever. Real actors are in the Fast and Furious movies, too. I like all the F&F movies, if anything they have eye candy and action.

There is definitely a subset of users that love that customization offered by android, and it can be really awesome if you know what you are doing. Of course there is also quite a chunk of the android user population that use it because it was cheaper than buying an iphone. On the VZW site there are 2 iphones under $100 for new customers vs 18 android devices (some of these are actually "free)

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 03:33 PM) And I'll give credit to USC (of all schools) for realizing where it stands and going after realistic candidates like Peterson and Sark. That's very rare these days. Whoever hired Kiffin was a moron though, so not too much credit to them. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) I do think the SEC teams have made Mizzou better. I think our scheme is better. But I also think that this more proved to me that the recruiting rankings are ridiculous. Mizzou was playing Tennessee and had like 30 less 5 star players. We played injured florida who poor them, had to tap into their 5 deep 4 star players. Much like with Oklahoma/Texas, just being interested in a player tended to increase their star ranking. Made the rest of the big 12 look worse than it was. SEC recruiting rankings probably overly add to that. BUt I also think it just has a number of the best football schools and toughest stadiums. Every away game is terrifying minus vandy/kentucky (vandy for the stadium, they have a disciplined, good team). But can anyone explain Nebraska going to the Big Ten and being average? -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) Mizzou has a much better chance at sustained success than A&M. The East only has one program (Florida) that has had any sustained recent success, and they appear to be on a big downward spiral post-Urban. Its pretty close to the Post-Muschamp rebuilding era -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 03:02 PM) Until Neuheisel left in 02, Washington was one of the better football programs. Maybe the thought of returning his old school to glory interests him. He had already accomplished so much at Mizzou. Its not crazy. In the end he will probably just use the UW job to get more money from Mizzou, like Sumlin just did at A&M. Compared to what? Washington was very good from about 75-92, then 3 bowl wins in 20+ years. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) He was there for 12 years as a player and assistant, so he has ties to Seattle. His stock will never be higher, the rest of his division will never be this injured and bad. I don't know if UW can offer him more money than Mizzou, but money talks too. I'm not saying he should or will leave, but I would think they give him a call and he at least hears them out. Remember when Mizzou and TAMU joined the SEC and never had a chance? Didnt take long to prove that theory completely unjustified. Maybe the rest of the division is just "bad" like you say. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) I'm pretty comfortable saying that Pinkel will be at Mizzou. For one, he's getting up there in age. For two, he stayed at toledo for like 10 years, now has been at Mizzou for 13. He just tied our career lead for wins by a coach. If he didn't leave after 2007, I don't see him leaving six years later. Well, the SEC title game is kind of the top of the tree right now. It wouldnt make sense. Especially a middling program like Washington. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:35 PM) Why would a coach currently playing for a SEC Championship and a possible spot in the NC game consider going to Washington? A drug scandal? only reason I can think that would make sense. -
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 11:54 PM) Pretty uneducated on this stuff, so I'm seeking some advice, on a 46" LED TV how crucial is the 60Hz/120Hz difference, particularly with sports/Blu-Ray/gaming? Most LED's if not all are edge-lit and can have some serious lag for gaming, check the gaming settings as it helps some of the delay.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 03:31 PM) Lol, I absolutely agree with the decision. I just think its hilarious when OSU fans try to take the high road. Like the article you posted earlier this week. Winning conquers all. That makes zero sense. Hate on something else.
