QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 13, 2013 -> 11:10 AM) For those of you tuned into IU's scholarship situation, G Remy Abell will transfer. No major surprise. Abell started the year strong, was very average (I think I'm being generous) during Big Ten play and then finished with a couple of decent games toward the end. Averaged 12.5 min/game. The other downside of being talented, you lose players that could probably play elsewhere because your team is just that deep. The last 3-4 years we've been leaching 4 star players because they cant see the court the way they thought they would. -
If you are slicing you are probably hitting across the ball. Bringing the club up too steeply then yanking it across the ball with the face open. Sometimes if you just stand a little further from the ball and bend a bit more at the waist you can make this impossible. I'm about a 12 and have gone through a slice phase, a duck hook phase, a "now I'm hitting the ball 40 yards further" phase etc. golf is awesome.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 05:24 PM) At the gym today, LA Fitness. Saw 2 kids, maybe between the ages of 17-21, standing shirtless in front of the mirror in the locker room popping zits on each others backs. Steroids.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 04:49 PM) Honestly, do you really feel that a former teammate and also a fellow hitter is going to defend a pitcher (who happened to be on a rival team for a number of years)? C'mon. It's like when Iowa would lose to MSU every time and Izzo would say what a great coach Todd Lickliter was....he's going to defend another B10 coach, he's not going to rip into him. Heck, you might even argue that he wants aforementioned sucky coach to stay in place as long as possible so your team can keep beating on him, lol. Really...Konerko defending Quentin isn't news, any more than Mattingly, a fellow hitter, ripping on Quentin and favoring his own player. Why dont you read what he said first. It's pretty clear there is more to it than that.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) There is a home like that that we looked at and made a bid on as well...some people are just unrealistic... Any other places you like? Going to see some open houses this weekend. Ironically the place I really want is having an open house and then they are "going to counter". I bet people say the exact same s*** I've been saying to them for weeks.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 03:39 PM) If the twig on the mound was Sale instead of Greinke, I'd be hoping out loud that he turns and runs far away in the other direction from the crazy man making his way towards him. I don't care what kind of cat noises coming from opposing dugouts follow him around for the rest of his career (maybe it even gets him a few bucks via a sponsorship deal with Vagisil). If the twig was Greinke and his absurd contract that he just signed over the winter, and I'm Don Mattingly, I run out in front of Quentin as fast as I can so as to impede his progress. Greinke has been a head hunter for years, especially against the Sox. I wasnt surprised he stood there and tried to take a hit. He thinks he's more badass than he really is. And Konerko did an entire interview today backing up Quentin in the situation. I wonder if that will change the minds of the people who think Greinke is a saint here.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:09 PM) I guess it's the right thread for this http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/teen...X09mZg--;_ylv=3 The sodium would likely kill me.

I dont care about it, if a pitcher throws at someone he should understand that they may get hit back. Also if a 240 lb power hitter runs at you, you dont lower your shoulder like an idiot when you are a skinny waif.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) Way to go Reddy, your quinoa (pronounced keen-wa) obsession has led to skyrocketing prices, to the point of which the locals that once lived on the staple food can no longer afford to buy it. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/20...le-truth-quinoa "The appetite of countries such as ours for this grain has pushed up prices to such an extent that poorer people in Peru and Bolivia, for whom it was once a nourishing staple food, can no longer afford to eat it. Imported junk food is cheaper." So for you to be healthier, you're making poor people unhealthy. Good going you fruit baskets. Oh, I'm eating a side of quinoa for lunch today. Full disclosure. It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds. It is f***ing delicious, I'll probably make some curry-flavored tonight.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 09:44 AM) I bought a new saddle...really like it...need to get those shorts though...the main thing that kept me off it was the pain in my ass (literally) and almost getting run over by Las Vegas cabs on the Strip... It also helps wick the moisture away from your thighs so you have less chafing. Very valuable. Just remember to hand wash them as well.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 01:08 PM) I bought a Trek road bike online about 5 years ago...most likely, you won't use it as much as you think you will, and you don't need all the tech they'll tell you you'll need... If you are serious get fitted. I bought a trek 1.1 last summer and put on a few hundred miles. Make sure you like the saddle, and get padded shorts.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:17 PM) Why is this such an issue for you? I've laid this out before and I'll do it again. Last year the agreed upon plan if Patterson made grades is that the Zeller's would pay Cody's way and he would come off scholarship. That could again this year, but probably won't. Creek will graduate and is not contributing much. He is one option to free space (and that is done all the time, especially in football so I'm not sure why it would be a big deal here). Jurkin has an injury that may be chronic. He's missed more basketball than he's played in the last 3 years. If his situation doesn't improve, he could leave/medical leave/or whatever. Austin Etherington completely blew out his knee for what is my understanding is the 2nd time. He may never be able to play again. Oladipo is already gone. Others may transfer out, especially if they think the new kids coming in will take minutes. Right now, IU's scholarship situation is not nearly as dire as someone that is uninformed may think. There are several ways they can get to the number. Conversely, last year, every one was scratching their heads trying to figure out how they would fit Patterson in, except those inside the program which had a plan in place. I'm much less worried about this year than I was coming into this year. And before you act like it only happens at IU, the same thing happened at Louisville last year. Kyle Kuric paid his own way to make room for someone else and he was a major contributor to that team. Find another subject please! Hey I was just looking for the details on the numbers. Your brother in Cream and Crimson refused to do so. I knew I could count on you Rex. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:13 PM) Im pretty sure they its comparisons. Basically appraisals of "similar" properties to try and determine what the real price should be. Right. Both a buyers and sellers agent use them to justify their pricing. In this case, this guy is f***ing crazy. The are the highest priced place anywhere near them and its beat to hell including puddles in the basement, I would have to drop in upwards of 100k to make it one of the nicer ones around. One of their comps was a place in the best part of the west loop, almost new, larger, and completely upgraded with everything from fixtures to heated floors in every bathroom. His place has been on the market for 170+ days and will still be there another 170 at his price.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 04:43 PM) Gotta love that...they did counter though, which shows they at least are taking you seriously (even if they are nuts)...think you are going to re-counter? Yes but very little increase. My comps are spot on. I need to gut half the place, so you can't use 2-3 year old updated comps.

The offer I put out was countered and they are completely crazy with what they think its worth. Their Comps are completely new larger places while their's is a run down fixer upper. Ugh.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:59 PM) Install a program called Handbreak (free), and an encoder/decoder like VLC (free), works on either Windows or OSX. Handbreak is a ripper, VLC is used by Handbreak to decrypt the DVD. You insert the DVD, then select any one of a number of presets that are pre-configured, such as AppleTV3, which is basically a maximum quality, full 480p rip (which is DVD quality). You then click Start. And depending on the speed of your computer, it will take 15-30 minutes to complete, and you have your digital copy that can be imported into iTunes, or whatever streaming media player you use where you can tag it, add album art, etc. There are a few other things, but nothing complicated. You just have to make sure you rip the right track, as sometimes there will be multiple tracks and one will be Fullscreen and the other Widescreen (you can use a preview button to see a sample image, and you'll be able to tell if it's widescreen or not, either with that or looking at the resolution width.) ---- It takes a long time...it's not something I did overnight, but I did it slowly over the past year whenever I was sitting at my computer. But now that it's done, it's really cool having a huge library of movies to watch at any time. I have an AppleTV on both of my larger televisions, and of course the stream works to any iPad/iPhone on my WiFi, too. It's really kinda cool. Thanks dude, I have VLC already but not handbreak. I am going to do this as well since I am a huge Apple TV user.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 01:24 PM) I've seen MSU really high in a bunch of places. I can't buy that until we know for sure that Harris and Payne are back. If one of them leaves, maybe like 15, if both leave fringe-ranking at best. I don't see how you can put them at #3 and Michigan totally off the board when they can both be top-5 or unranked depending on what happens with the pros. That's a lot of love for the Shockers too. They were really solid this year and will still be decent next year, but I have a hard time buying 11 with Hall and Armstead moving on. A ton of guys that were marginally productive stepping into bigger roles. Here's mine for comparison. I don't know why I like Georgetown a lot more, I just do. Alot of people put way too much stock into tourney performance at the end of the year. Teams get hot and cold, and it usually has zero bearing on the next year. Zoom, nice write up. Too much love for my buckeyes but a very informed perspective. -
Not too bad, but 37 right is not good.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:37 PM) That's exactly why. For the most part, if you watch a movie more than once, you may as well have bought it, since the rental fees were approaching 5$ anyway. Besides, now you have it and can rip it to digital format. I ripped my entire collection, and have a library ready to stream to any of my AppleTV's of over 700 movies, completely cataloged by name, year, synopsis, and even a movie poster image. How do you rip the DVD collection?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 10:19 AM) I didn't think it favored one team or another, it was just really, really bad. I said last night that our high school sectionals had better officiating teams than that hot garbage. Probably true. It's hard to believe those are the guys that graded out the best through the tourney. I was thanking god TV teddy wasnt assigned to the game before tip-off but he may have actually done a better job. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 10:09 AM) Most are no where near this bad. This was legitimately awful. Definitely up there in terms of boneheaded calls. AS far as officiating for or against one team, it wasnt on the same level as any game in Bloomington. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 10:01 AM) Exactly! And that is what the coaches who employ these ultra-aggressive defensive pressure schemes are counting on....that the refs are not going to want to blow the whistle every play because the game will cease to be a game anymore, but instead a free throw shooting content. But then when your key players get into foul trouble your pressure is moot. This is whats been going on in the game for over 20 years. I dont understand why there is an issue with it today.
