  1. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) around the house as im presently unemployed...as I stated before I have a bench, one 45 pound dumbbell, resistance cords(that I have recently added to the bench), a tractor tire, and a sledgehammer. Basically I was wondering if i should do tire work on a day by its self or if I should do it on a lift day... http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/1...8_4534260_n.jpg this is me. The tractor tire itself is going to be of great use. I would start out with what I call "around the tire" This is a 45 min workout (sets of 10 min on 2 off. you can start with 5 min if its killing you) 10 min on 2 min off Do this circuit as many times as you can within the 10 min tire obviously laying on its side Pushups (arms on tire at first if its hard and graduate to feet on tire) 20 Crunches (feet on tire) 20 Mountain climbers (both hands on tire shuffle feet up and back one at a time) 20 each leg Tire dips (tricep dips) 20 Toe touches (stand there and touch your toe on top of tire alternating) 20 each foot Start again When 10 min is up we can move to another tire circuit, we will do each circuit twice for a roughly 45 min workout "Tire flip and jump" grab tire, squat it up and flip the SOB. Jump into middle, then to other side then flip again. 10 times One legged squats (one leg on tire in a lunge position) 10 each leg Plank and reach (you can use the tire for your feet or not) Both feet on tire in a plank position put a cone or something just out of your reach and reach for it with one arm at a time. 20 count. Should be 10 min or so, take a 2 min break and do both again. This would be a killer cardio/strength day with basically just using the tire and body weight.
  2. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 01:34 PM) Gee thanks for all the info guys, I love that we have so many pros on here yet no one gave me a workout routine to follow, youre all great. I know I need to shed weight, and that will come with the weight training. I'm not some big blob over here at 292, like I said 2 years ago I went to an army recruiter at 315 and was only 2% body fat away from being able to join (I have a felony on my record so all hopes of that were crushed there). According to the military website thatd make my bf% 28% at 315, thats not tooooo bad.... I would try and lean down until you are in the teens before trying to bulk back up but thats just me. 28% is technically obese. So for routines are you looking for just stuff to do around the house or are you going to a gym/park?
  3. You want to add bulk onto a 300 lb frame already? Seems like you would want to lean out first.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 11:26 AM) So much for Salak being any part of the future answer at goaltender. Yup, stupidity.
  5. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 07:07 PM) I was joking. Miami does bring back fond memories. Many good looking women there. Is it still like that? I spent a weekend there. Didn't see many 10's, but almost every one I saw was a 7-9. I saw as many ugly women in my first two hours back at Evansville than I did the whole weekend in Oxford. Made out with a cute chick on the dance floor at some bar on High St or Main St(?). Almost had her ready to take me back to her place when her friends came in and "rescued her". As a reference point, that was the night that Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson in Japan. Damn, I'm old! High st just like every other main st in ohio, its weird like that. The girls are very good looking and for the most part VERY high maintenance. Its a really good time and great campus, I would recommend a visit to anyone who goes through southern ohio. I remember that night well although my babysitter had ordered that fight on my parents HBO. You old fart!!
  6. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 06:43 PM) He's not even the best Plumlee. Not as athletic as Noah either, pass.
  7. QUOTE (MEANS @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 07:14 AM) as u can tell by my avatar...Grandma's Boy!!!! Classic! VERY underrated.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 04:32 PM) Great. How many of those are there in the league? There is one that wants to be on the Bulls next year....
  9. I honestly prefer grabbing a big man who is better in the pick and roll and can actually make a shot. Defense and energy are easier to find IMO.
  10. Just picked up my ipad3 from the apple store on north ave. Need it for work purposes and demos but it looks pretty nice comparative to the first one I have.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) I'm getting a 15" laptop to be my new primary laptop at school, while traveling for college baseball, and whatever else it is I do. I don't have the budget to spend like I did when I bought my Mac that just went out on me. Is the upgrade to i7 worth the money or should I stick with i5? Should I upgrade to dedicated video card > i7? I will rarely game but usually have 10+ internet tabs going, music, word, maybe a few other programs on at once on a given night. Perhaps utorrent. MLB.tv when applicable. What is your budget? You are traveling a bunch you said? For the money you can get a macbook air for under 1k which I think is a great deal http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/spec.../macbook_air/13 The i5 will be just fine for what you are doing most likely.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:10 PM) Yeah man, but watching an old MICHAEL JORDAN miss a dunk in the All-Star Game and shoot 42 and 45% from the floor was painful. Jordan's PER of 19.3 that final year didn't come close to Rose's 23 and 23.5. I mean, he was still a decent player, but this is Michael Jordan we're talking about, Michael Jordan. It was just embarrassing and that jersey looked awful on him. It just shows how a pretty bad MJ can basically still be a very well above avg NBA player. If folks go back and watch the dream team years or some of his old dvds you'll see someone that was clearly the best that ever was.
  13. Everytime the government takes half of my check I feel physically ill.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:20 PM) try the claritin. If it works, great. if it doesnt, it could become an issue like it was with my lab. The weird thing with her is that it didnt start until she got older, about 5 or 6. But once it started, it was awful Labs and Goldens have this issue all the time, there should be some good info on the internet.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) General warning here. Telling people to STFU isnt going to be tolerated, this thread was moving along nicely and moved back a few steps here today. Last warning edit: balta wins the warning post race you are slow and sleepy just like your hometown.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:23 PM) LMAO at that video. "Jordan was sick. Not like a sinus infection, but like the kids say." LOL that was awesome. I like bringing out the MJ box set once in awhile to watch a true master at work.
  17. At least Felix had a team he supported to all ends and wasnt a frontrunning baby. If you dont like a thread, dont open it. Pretty easy.
  18. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) When you apply for a job what is on the application? Work history and education are near the top. The better both are the better you chances. Eventually when you have great experience and a qualifying education, you are in a much better position than someone with just one or the other. Entry level the education matters more, as you work awhile you never are even asked as long as the box is checked under college degree. I was always worried my GPA would come up but after my first interview ever, it never has. In fact now I dont even really "apply"
  19. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) If Oladipo can add even a decent outside shot (say, ~35-38% from 3-point) I have no doubt he'll be a first rounder, barring injury (which I always worry about with him given how he plays). Looked like Yogi had a good game in that KY vs Indiana all star game. Also looked like Gary Harris is about as good as I thought he would be.
  20. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 09:20 AM) Thats's OSU for you baby! jk I don't even know if you graduated from OSU. There is no doubt some majors are easier than others. Many athletes major in general studies, whatever the hell that means. Miami University, so a lot less athletically focused than Big Ten caliber schools. Just shows you. And OSU is one of two big ten teams that was honored for their APR, so they are clearly doing something right or have really really good study tables.
  21. I bolded the ones I liked.
  22. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 04:06 PM) I was able to test out of taking math courses and foreign language courses. I had nearly a semester's worth of credits before stepping foot on campus. Damn. Ours only tested us out of classes we didnt get any credits.
  23. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 03:41 PM) He also didn't even act in a handful of those movies you listed. Like I said above, those are the movies he put out, he wasnt in all of them.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 03:03 PM) Yeah, I was like 2 questions on the test away from testing out of the required 3 French classes completely. I had to take 1 semester of French. It was the only B+ I got as an undergrad. I'm still pissed at that country as a consequence. That blows. I had to take 3 years of spanish in college and it drove me nuts.
