  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) I started last week. I'm about 6 chapters in...I've been a bit frustrated trying to keep all the weird names and places straight, but now it's starting to pick up a bit. Theres a glossary in the back of each book to give you a structure. It gets even more confusing at times but then guys get killed off. Just wait until they change the names of characters.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) Ha I thought you were making a specific comment about Indiana. I never took a summer class nor took more than 13 credits in a semester and I graduated in 3.5 years. So its not really that unheard of, I just know Indiana was having problems with people graduating in 4 years, at least back when I was in the College market. Nah, athletes in general get bulls*** classes and it pissed me off. One of the only science classes I took voluntarily was full of football and hockey players and I saw them the first day and last day and they all did better than me. They never even had to go to f***ing lab.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) You can test out of 3-4 years worth of language requirements also and that is a whole heaping pile of credits. Damn really? Is that new? That would have helped me ALOT. Instead I took the classes in college and they were the WORST. I tested/Ap'ed out of math and most of my science but still went to summer school every summer mostly because it was awesome being there in the summer.
  4. Halfway through A Feast for Crows, its not as slow as it started and I really like that it focuses on the rest of the realm at times.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 01:20 PM) Man, this thread is getting depressing. Sorry to hear that Steve Thus is the arc of pet ownership, excitement, frustration, joy, pain, sadness
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) There really isn't a good one in that list IMO, and he wasn't in all of those (at least not as a main character). The only one he was the lead in that was decent was 50 First Dates, and that was him being a normal goof, not some over the top weirdo. Wow really? Alot of those are good. Grandma's boy is one of the more underrated comedies around. That is specifically films he put out, and there have been some hits in there since 2000.
  7. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 01:46 PM) Taking two terms of summer courses, I could have easily graduated in 3 years. To graduate you have to have a certain number of credit hours, so I don't get your point. The classes have to be taken. Plus, with advanced placement classes in HS now, its easy to walk in with credits if you are a good student in HS. Cody Zeller had 22 credits before starting due to advanced classes in HS. That's almost a full year. I think I entered with 6. I took summer every year and went in with AP credits, Zeller must've taken over 6 AP courses? Wow. I wasnt bashing IU BTW just asking your impressions of that so no need to start putting up the defenses.
  8. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 02:36 PM) It's actually some sort of quasi-state university. Yeah, its pretty much a private school as it isnt subject to records laws.
  9. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) Grown ups Just Go With It Zookeeper Bucky Larson Jack and Jill That's My Boy That's about as bad a 2 year stretch as anyone has ever had. Jesus. And he's had alot of good ones since the year 2000 that was mentioned above. Filmography since 2000: little Nicky The Animal Joe Dirt Mr Deeds Master of disguise Eight crazy nights The Hot Chick Anger Management Dickie Roberts 50 first dates The Longest Yard Deuce Bigelow Euro Grandma's boy The Benchwarmers Click Chuck and Larry Reign Over me strange wilderness House Bunny Dont mess with Zohan Bedtime stories Paul Blart Shortcut Funny People and then the ones above. Some stinkers, some gems. Just like the film industry in general.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) Given his estate's massive net worth, the victims most definitely give a s*** about Paterno being involved. If all they care about is money that is, which is the defense's only point so far.
  11. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 11:15 AM) The DT special was very well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What Coach K had to say about the first college scrimmage was especially interesting, and I call "BS" on anyone who says that they didn't hear or see something for the first time, particularly the videos and comments from Bobby Hurley about that. I knew Jordan played golf every day but I didnt recall it was with the coach who he probably should have hated for all he did to him over the years. I also didnt know that he literally didnt sleep for days on the trip.
  12. I honestly dont give a s*** about Paterno being involved, the guy is dead. The more important players here are the trustees and the administrators who swept this under the rug because of football and finances.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 08:12 AM) Those were options for the College of Business, and yes our Engineering school is top notch along with several other programs. At Miami our two "best" major were Business and Paper sciences (really). The B-School was probably more than half of the majors there. Of course I went into psych because of the girls and focused on child development. Which really helped me out with my career in technology sales and consulting.
  14. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) T I'm betting you can find "good dank ass weed" in any college town. Plus, shouldn't you be extolling Oxford's finest greenery instead of Madison?! It was good because of our proximity to kentucky, but Madison's culture is much more hippie-ish which led to a wide selection.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) I have it on DVR but saw bits and pieces during Sox game. I had no clue they lost their scrimmage vs college guys. J4L probably did though. He knows all, wish everyone would stop quoting him. Actually I knew they lost it but I didnt know why, you'll see in the doc.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 10:24 AM) Bernstein was talking just the other day about a new PSU Boardmember that was advocating rehiring Schultz and Curley after this is through LOL, good luck with that. Some of those guys are going to spend some jail time. They have an entire secret file on Sandusky's perversion and the damn university police dept was ordered to omit almost 100 pages of a police report on it. This is going to go real deep.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 08:29 AM) Yeah, he's going to be sore for the first couple days. The bigger pain in the ass, IMHO at least, is keeping that damn cone on his head to keep him from licking the incision or trying to pull out the stitches. I simply could not bear to watch my dogs wear this thing around so clumsily, so I always just removed it and kept an eye on them. They also sell something called the "comfy cone" or something that is much more reasonable. As for his activity levels, just don't actively encourage him to play too strenuously and I think you'll be fine. Don't worry too much about trying to restrain him or anything unless he seems to really be pushing the envelope. They say they get dogs back in after a neuter all the time with re-opened wounds, but I've never seen it happen with the 15+ dogs my family and I have had that have been neutered. Yeah, he'll be groggy the first day and pissed at you the second day. After that they are quick healers. Update on me: We did put my dog down last friday, it was sad but necessary. The poor pup lost his mind and didnt know who any of us were. Cognitive degenerative disease.
  18. Does he realize that their necks can stretch almost halfway back of their shell?
  19. The Dream Team doc was awesome, just awesome. I'd like to see more actually, I wished it was much longer.
  20. Are there any actual IU grads on here? How do you feel about those players graduating in ALOT less time than you did?
  21. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 09:57 AM) Plus the guy just sucks at talking about this. "You know, I enjoy young people" The prosecution played his interview with Costas (I believe) and they intentionally made it skip and play twice for the questioning where he doesnt deny he had physical contact with the boys. He's toast. The revelations that have been coming out about the PSU cover-up should be the main story here. The administration knew about it in 2001 and decided it was humane for him to not tell the police. Thats f***ing crazy.
  22. Thunder fans have had a team for what, 3 years? And they are already better than Heat fans.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) All I know is every time I see your damn avatar I wish I had gone to school closest to wherever the hell Kate Upton used to hang out... That would be Western Michigan, you could have been a MAC product!!
