Whats the benefit of sitting or limiting Sale? I dont understand this theory. Do you think somehow pushing back the possibility of him getting hurt is better for him or the Sox? If his mechanics are as bad as everyone thinks and an injury is inevitable i'd rather have him having surgery now rather than in a year or so.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 30, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) Oh, "Marty", this thread title is just hanging you out to dry everytime it gets bumped. *bump Deal him before his value is totally gone.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 31, 2012 -> 07:10 AM) According to Maddon, there is no way a pitcher can miss by 3 or 4 feet and throw behind a batter, that has to be intentional. But a pitcher CAN miss by 6ft or more at 2/3 the distance and that is just a bad throw. I used to have some respect for Maddon as a manager, but the way his team has behaved first with Boston and now the Sox has shown them for the whiny little beyoches they really are. They've decided they are going to be intimidators on the diamond if things arent going their way, unfortunately they forgot that scoring and preventing runs was more important.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 31, 2012 -> 08:43 AM) Nicklas Lidstrom to retire today. Other than the sweater he wore, can't really say anything bad about him. 2010-11 was the only minus season he had in 20 seasons, and that was only -2. Between him and Steve Y they have given the hockey world two of the best captains in the last many years.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:30 PM) I'll never understand what the Padres were thinking in trading Rizzo for Cashner "our GM just went to work for the cubs"

He just looks too much like Garnett to me to be ignored. I would choose a young KG with the #1 pick every time. And KG wasnt even the best player on his HS team.

QUOTE (G&T @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) That's enough for me not to click that link. Its gross, extremely gross. Theres no other way to put it, but it takes a strong stomach to really look at that picture.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:50 PM) Why wasn't it around during my experimental college days? I'm not sure I would have touched that stuff. Chemicals like that, I dont know, its weird to me. I mean, I've smoked f***ing banana peels but at least thats somewhat organic.

I just heard about this bath salts thing recently and it seems incredibly crazy to me.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 29, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) Yea very happy with those additions, I have a feeling the Bran storyline is going to be more prominent.

Remember he's only a freshman Badge, comparing him to a well seasoned senior in Ryan's system isnt exactly fair. I was saying the bare bones of a jump shot are there and he can develop into a good jump shooter and possibly a guy who shoots 3's. More importantly he can develop into a guy who can hit the pick and roll jumper like Garnett has for years. THATS the player I expect. He's incredibly athletic already and has a very high ceiling. One of the knocks on Leuer was his athleticism as a 4 or 5 without the dominant size. I think thats been proven fairly wrong so far.

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Thanks. So he is not necessarily hurt but removed as a precautionary measure, at least as far as we know right now? I assume the reason for the potential intent would be retribution for the AJ spiking in game 1? They already hit AJ for that. The Rays were trying intimidation for today's game to give them an edge and it turned out scoring more runs than your opponent was actually how you win.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) What is up with his back foot? He lifts his heel up on the back foot before he loads up. Who does that? Someone who is trying to slow himself down, I've never seen that before and I would sit in the stretch for a LONG time if I was pitching to him, make that calf shake a little.

AJP was so happy that Scott popped up. Amazing that guy can hit with that horrible batting stance.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) 12-1.... Didn't think Reed would be able to hold that save, but for someone who's a rookie there's just a sense of calm compared to anyone else closing. With all fastballs. Take that you headhunting p*****s. Sweet gladiator helmets. That movie was awesome in 2001

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 30, 2012 -> 11:59 AM) Im not really in love with Davis, so id take Howard every day of the week (given that he will resign with my team). Even if Im Charlotte Id fly Davis to Orlando. See, I thought you would like a big man that has the ability to actually shoot a ball.

The Rays are headhunters, pretty obvious Wegner has money on this game. No other reason to eject a pitcher who had a 1-hitter going

Jeff "Mickey" DA MANto is freaking amazing
RockRaines replied to sunofgold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Manto basically said that Konerko's success is a product of all the work over the years with Greg Walker. -
BJ Upton isn't quite sure what to make of Sale
RockRaines replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Rays have mentioned that he is Randy Johnson-esqe. I like when he saw the replay and cringed even more. I just hope when Sale has TJ surgery that he comes back healthy and we havent signed him to a Peavy-sized contract extension. -
Nice to see Ricketts pony up just under 2k for cancer research. How much did he spend on the anti-Obama ad?

Well now thats too much work to go back and check. Steve, check your PM for more important stuff. And if Bowman trades Seabrook he will have my undying support.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 30, 2012 -> 10:44 AM) And I could certainly see that happen with the Magic. Especially if Nelson opts out and moves somewhere else, and also Ryan Anderson (although I think it's likely Orlando re-signs him unless someone offers him more than 11M a season, then it gets interesting). If you move Dwight, you've got to move the likes of Redick etc., players with actual value, and just go for a complete rebuild IMO. Davis is going to take 2-3 seasons to develop at least (similiar to Dwight's career path really). They are different players I know, but I feel like Davis could have a great upside given that he has some ballhandling and shooting ability that Dwight may never have. He's also probably not a pure 5 like Dwight is as far as banging in the paint. I really feel like Davis could be Kevin Garnett when its said and done.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 30, 2012 -> 10:35 AM) Come on - that was obviously Dale Tallon's team. Name one acquisition that Bowman has made that worked out so far? Can I quote myself? His drafts so far have been pretty good and should pay off even more this year. I've also shown that the Hawks are right in line in their two seasons after winning the cup compared to the last 10 stanley cup winners. Not sure what else I can show to make a hater not hate someone. Just like there is no way anyone can convince me that keeping Seabrook is good for this team.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2012 -> 08:21 AM) http://www.suntimes.com/sports/12853372-41...-seek-help.html I'm actually surprised you linked a acticle written by a "tabloid" in your words. The only statement/facts in that article was this: The rest is from a "source" aka conjecture. It's pretty obvious to me they are shopping him which is why they didnt say anything more than 2 sentences. I believe his cap hit is almost 7 million, we could do alot with that.
