QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 11:22 AM) You sound just like me when Sampson was in town. I could care less about the article. But there is some truth to it. Meyer is one of the biggest hypocrites in college football. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. This isn't new information. He had detractors while at Florida too. The detractors just have a quieter voice when teams are winning consistently. When the wins slow down, the voices get louder. We shall see if he can replicate his "success" at Florida without a guy named Tebow. AH, you forget I dont really care for Urban Meyer or his character. My issue is with an article that claims someone broke something when he left them with a TON of talent and two crystal footballs. Its sour grapes, nothing more. And from what I have seen so far in recruiting, he has distanced himself from some guys Tressel would have gladly taken so perhaps he is trying to do things differently, especially with a program on probation. As far as Tebow goes, he was a bit player in his first national championship, I should know, I had a stake in it. Dont neglect what he did at Utah and BG as well. He's good, very good. I just hope he's clean. The Sampson comment plays right into my post earlier about IU bball fans and OSU fball fans. Delusion at its finest across the board. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:56 AM) Santiago's been consistently at 93-94-95 with the fastball. Santos so far anywhere from low 90's to 97. I think Santiago's delivery is a bit harder to pick up...definitely doesn't have Sergio's slider, but he's got two different offspeed pitches he can throw for strikes, which ends up being perhaps better than Santos' two pitch arsenal due to the variety. You have the sense with Santiago that he doesn't feel he HAS to come with a fastball when he's down in the count. Reed and Jones both throw with about the same velocity as Sergio, and Reed compares similarly because of that nasty slider of his, although you'd have to give the edge to Sergio so far of the two in terms of who has a better one. Reed also has a change that helps against LHP.

I'm a big rap guy. If he wants to be somewhat current I think "On to the next one" by Jay-Z would be pretty good.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:52 AM) Son or song, lol? I'm assuming it's the latter. Hmmm...he's Puerto Rican-American, so I would go with something like Daddy Yankee (Rompe or Gasolina) from the reggaeton school or maybe Don Omar/Tego Calderon, something with a flair and beat. No way, a closers song has to be hard, like enter sandman or something of the sort. How about "Screwball" by 97 grenade

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) Sez the guy still writing stories about Ozzie, Kenny, and Cooper not getting along. cst_Cowley @cst_Cowley I thought the best thing Oz said is moving forward it's not what he says, but what he does. Period, move on. Oh ok, well then hopefully he never reports anything Ozzie ever says again.

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:36 AM) Now we're back to normal and disagreeing again. Regardless of whether this guy is a hack or not, there is some merit in what was reported. This stuff was known while Meyer was still at Florida. It's not all new. Whether you believe this guy or not, you can't have your head buried in the sand and actually think there is no odor coming from this hire, can you? Let me give you a piece of advice... I bought into Kelvin Sampson. Don't make the same mistake I did! Meyer is far from squeaky clean. That said, I have no doubt he is smarter than Sampson was. The article was supposed to show how Meyer "broke" the Gators. ZERO NCAA violations, zero. PLayers were refuting the "statements" made all night on twitter. Its a jaded fan who now sees that Muschamp sucks and wants to blame someone. ONce again, if Urban Meyer "breaks" my buckeyes to the tune of 2 national titles, numerous conference titles and zero NCAA infractions he will go down as a legend. Every single team in the Big Ten has suspended or had a player go injured that got caught with weed. If thats an indictment of a coach then nobody is doing a good job. In case you also think he is a Florida fan that has objective opinions on OSU: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=128...e=3&theater -
I think Santos will be just fine, he has an explosive slider that comes and goes like alot of slider pitchers. However, it looks like we didnt miss a beat with our current closer and perhaps closer in waiting with Reed. Both may have better overall stuff than Sergio.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:21 AM) No doubt. It is going to be a fun year for Michigan and Indiana and the Big Ten in general. If a team loses less than 3 games in conference I would be shocked. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:19 AM) Watford and Zeller back for another year! Zeller is no surprise, but Watford was iffy. Sweet As much as its hard to say when you are excited about recruits, not all of them are going to be able to step in and play at a high level right away, the depth that he gives you is incredibly valuable. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 10:10 AM) I will wait for Cowley to ask Oney for it.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) From champs to chomped: How Urban Meyer broke Florida football link pretty interesting but nothing really earth shattering. The whispers around the state about these things have been going on for a few years now. Yawn. Muschamp hasn't been there long enough to be called a bust and a failure so a Gators fan writes an article blaming it on a coach that brought them 2 national titles and left them with the #1 recruiting class in the country. This is a guy who just a short time ago wrote that Urban was the best coach in football. Everyone, especially floridians know Hayes is a hack. Is there a fan on this site that wouldn't want to "broken" to the tune of 2 national titles, a huge pool of in house talent and ZERO NCAA infractions? -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) Not a legacy, his dad is the coach at the HS and I think Wisconsin was one of the first schools to offer. Im pretty sure when Wisconsin offered he was a 3/4*, but that was mainly because he was at a small school. Once he started getting press, his stock has risen exponentially. I see #6 PF, thats pretty damn good. -
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 04:03 PM) i would say that 90% of the park is baseball related.. you make it sound like the clevelander bar is an entire floor of the stadium. its just a section for people to enjoy themselves and catch glimpses of a baseball game or some breasts if they so please. its not like people in the upper deck get lap dances by brazilian dancers while a dolphin caresses your genitalia. Any other seat in the park outside of the bar is just as much a baseball experience as any other stadium. You made a good point above. WE have this outside of our stadium, just not to the degree. I am going to have to run down there to check it out.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) Wisconsin adds Sam Dekker next year, supposedly the most talented player Wisconsin has ever gotten. I can only see Scout rankings but he is up there as far as positional rankings. Is he a legacy or something? He really only holds a badger offer. -
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) .... its miami... I'm pretty sure miami is the worst place to live if you've got the ol ball and chain attached to your ankle. also that section is promoted as a bar and you have to be 21 and over to purchase tickets. i don't see the problem with that. its the adult version of your guys' pontiac fundamentals, or whatever it is now. Fundamentals is geared at introducing children into the baseball culture and in particular the White Sox. Its family friendly and is baseball related. That thing is well, not related to baseball at all. Its like if the Cubs attached Barley Corn to the stadium and added a pool. Just strange that you want to take the focus off of baseball. If I was to list my 10 favorite stadiums in the MLB, I am not sure any of those have gimmicks totally unrelated to the baseball experience. To each his own, but I think it clearly plays into the stereotype that Miami "fans" dont care much about whats on the field or court.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 03:45 PM) And Novak that just graduated from Michigan. Also Glenn Robinson's kid and Mitch McGary who are at Michigan next year as well. Wow, didnt realize all of that. GR is going to be a beast, I heard that McGary was fat, slow and limping at the last tourney he played in. Any insight on that? -

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) Nice little youtube video on the Clevelander section of Marlins Park. Looks a lot better in action obviously. (Link NSFW) ! Ha, makes it look even worse IMO. Baseball related-nope Family friendly-nope. Kind of a joke.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) Spike Albrecht. He's from the same conference I broadcast in. Tough kid, great shooter, nice handles. Big drawback is he is a bit short. Light too IIRC. The PG's in the Big Ten are pretty physical these days so we'll see where the guy fits in. There's going to be some really good guard and wing play in the conference for years to come. Its too bad post play has been one and done for the most part otherwise that would be good as well. -

Burke changed his mind and is now coming back to Michigan. Alot of good PG's within the conference. -
I really need to read these books, the plot is just awesome.

Back when Schott made her comments there were alot of people that said, well only the jews would really find her comments insensitive. I feel like the same is being done now with people saying only the Cubans should care. I think everyone in Miami and Fla should care that they are being represented by an idiot.
