When no contact is better, you know that person is a cancer in your life. Sounds to me like she is just a habitual liar who thinks she can get away with anything.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) So people want Sale in the rotation and Thornton on another team. If you want Sale in the rotation Thornton has to stay. If you want Thornton gone, you better find another decent lefty for the bullpen or it will be a long year next year. I believe the org is thinking in the same direction there as I mentioned above.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) And they are going to replace the awful new CyHawk trophy, but will use an interim one this year. My suggestion would probably be the old trophy. I'll donate my Peavy bobblehead. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) No, see, they actually happen around me, I just never feel them. I slept through one in SD a few years ago. Everyone was talking about it for days. It sucked.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) Up on ESPN now. Wow thats fast for ESPN, it took them 24 hours to figure out Miami committed violations. -
All this MPG talk is making me remember that I dont have the luxury of driving my Ducati in the winter and have to rely on the Hemi eating endless amounts of gas. Dammit.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) Email sent around to the Knoxville campus from coach Pat Summit: Wow, thats awful. -
I dont think its a good idea to bash people who are optimistic for the rest of the season. Thats THEIR prerogative and frankly its nice to have positive people on this boards. That should not be a reason to personally attack them or their position IMO.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) 28 teams won't take that contract though. Yankees and Red Sox may take a pass until trade deadline of next year and if Thornton is declining you won't be able to trade him. Too much risk, not enough reward for keeping him past 8/31. Horrifically false. There is a TON less risk keeping him until the offseason, for his role and also for his teammates roles.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 12:17 PM) Then there's no reason to move him now as opposed to the offseason unless you're given a good offer for him. Now, you can deal with 1 team. In the offseason, you can deal with 28 teams. I believe thats their plan. It all depends once again on who else is still on the roster. If you end up losing 1 or 2 starters, its very likely Sale will be starting and Matt's value may increase for us.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) I didn't mean that we have to get rid of him during the waiver period. Just that it should be done sooner rather than later. Thornton and Quentin were two of the most talked about pieces at the trade deadline. They are both very much on the block this offseason.
-
QUOTE (Papa Tru @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) And were trying to do that, and if he can help us in trying to do that there is nothing s***ty about that.. Well if you truly believe we are still contenders for a WS title then so be it. I do not hold the same belief whatsoever.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) I don't often agree with you, but I agree that we need to get rid of Thornton ASAP. I don't want us to pull another Jenks, where many of us wanted him gone a couple of years earlier than he was let go. We failed to get any value for him when we could have gotten a nice return. Matt will be on the block this winter, which is exactly when we should think about having conversations. If they dont get that return then he is more valuable to us next season. Consequently, Chris Sale may be asked to start next season depending on the deals made in the offseason and we would need another good lefty in the pen for the late innings, and that guy is not Will Ohman.

It doesnt have to be fair, but still it would be a s***ty move to block Thome from going somewhere where he could win that title. One of the best guys in baseball history deserves that chance IMO.

I guess its because my SI came a few days late, but every team in the Big Ten should have a chip on its shoulder that Nebraska is being called the new Bully of the conference. I didnt know bullies were teams that havent won a conference title or BCS game since the 90's. -

QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 11:15 PM) On that particular play, he made a clutch catch. He just needs to get out of bounds. I didn't see it but my friend said he saw Cutler's lips say "GET OUT OF BOUNDS" Cool, thats usually not his style, he has a high football IQ. -
Oh god another one of these today? Cheaper, younger, but a worse team. I love it.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Way to go out of bounds Sanzenbacher I missed the game, outside of this did he at least look good? What else was happening in the game. I only watched f***ing scores on my phone. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Hopefully he doesn't alter his hitting approach the more he's around the big club. Legit concern of mine. +1 here. I like exactly what he's doing up there right now. If Dayan finally gets up here we could have two guys that have some serious power to all fields for a few years.

QUOTE (SnB @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) If you're looking for longevity - the civic would probably be the choice. I'm just not a big fan of the "spaceship" interior of the current models. If you're looking for cheaper up front - the hyundai sonata (or elantra if you can handle the size) would be the best bet. My gf has one, it took me awhile to get used to the new dash setup. However that car is maintenance free.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 22, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) tribe fans are lighting up the twittersphere with hopes. Personally I'd like to see him go back to Philly but he'll never make it thru. I think they'll still boo him, Indians fans arent too bright.

Civics run forever with great mileage.
