  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 11:09 AM) Yeah, absolutely. The Brewers need arms, and badly. They also could use a catcher, unless they have high hopes for Kottaras. Dayan could theoretically take over for Prince. I can see a Hudson/Flowers/Viciedo package being rumored. Thats exactly the package that I was thinking. An upside bat, a possible power hitting catcher and a MLB ready arm who could be real good in the weak NL. Its a decent package and I know KW has talked about Prince before. You immediately stick him at DH in the middle of Konerko and Quentin. You could also split up Rios and Kong, but I wouldnt recommend that since Paulie is on fire and Rios is stealing bases to get into scoring position. 1. Pierre 2. Whoever 3. Rios 4. Konerko 5. Prince 6. Quentin 7. AJP
  2. I bet you there will be whispers on the internet of FatPrince to the Sox here in the next week or so. He makes alot of sense for both teams, we have some decent young players to trade.
  3. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) Any thoughts or more Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives type places? Any decent places for lunch or dinner around the museums? I think at this point we're going to eat pizza one night (probably Giordano's or Lou's if I can find one), and steak another. I've heard The Bongo Room is great for breakfast so we'll likely try that. Also saw a bit on the Food Network about cinnamon rolls at Ann Sather so we may check that out one morning. We'll likely only do one "nice" dinner so we'll probably do Gibson's or Morton's. I know Gibson's is across the street from the hotel. Lastly, any word on bars on/around Rush Street? Not really looking for dance clubs, but more a nice bar with a nice atmosphere. If you are going to the Science and Industry Museum, there is a great italian place for lunch on Hyde Park Ave a block north of the museum. Gibson's is a waste. It's a must if you want that Chicago experience, but the crowds and people may leave you with a sour taste in your mouth. I would suggest moving a bit further south and hitting up Phil Stefani's 437 rush st. Its just south of the triangle, has a great bone-in ribeye, and the service is awesome. As far as bars around there, its going to be packed regardless, but there are a ton of great bars with ALOT of people. If you like late night reggae, underground wunderbar is not too far from there and is a great place after 12am.
  4. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Diners Drive Ins and Dives... go straight to the source. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cec8bEaILCE This place is in the UIC neighborhood. One of my favorites. 15 minute drive from the museums down Roosevelt Road. Cash Only though. Thats my spot, I go there about every other sunday for dinner.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:05 AM) How could you know that? It's not even available for smart phones yet? The mobile build just got finalized the other day. I am saying based on experience in PC's. It seems like it would be better as a separate app.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 07:28 AM) Oh I dunno....maybe because people like things like hulu? It's got so many flaws to be used on a smart phone though. It has it advantages, but I can see the frustration that will come.
  7. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) Duncs won the Norris. Classless move by Versus to cut him off so we could see crappy Goo Goo Dolls. Right in the middle of his f***ing speech.
  8. Not sure why Motorola keeps talking about Flash support, thats not necessarily a good thing with all the glitches and viruses it opens you up to. It's gonna make that thing SLOOOWWW
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) Sirens going off again First time i've heard them in 5 years living in the West Loop
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) To dump Versteeg would be jizz-worthy. First rounder and a good prospect would be a pretty good value for the Hawks.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) I hated to see Aliu gone, but it looks like Morin is a much better prospect. Reasoner seems to be a John Madden replacement. Can't argue with draft picks in the top two rounds. Eager is just a guy, Sopel did block a ton of shots in the playoffs, but you can find someone else to do that for much cheaper. Buffs was a vital part of the Cup run, but somebody had to go, his value ia at its highest, and you can't guarantee he will consistently do what he did in the playoffs. It's funny to see all these peoples reactions on Facebook, mostly people who just started watching in the playoffs, who actually didn't see it coming. "OMG, I can't believe they traded Big Buffs, NOOO!!" You can clearly see who is a bandwagon fan when they overreact to trading Buff. They probably started watching about the Van or SJ series.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) They took two crap players off our hands, plus a lot of salary. A guy like Aliu makes the deal more palatable for Atlanta. From what I am researching, the prospect we got in return may be a better player than Aliu who has fallen out of favor in the Hawks front office. And since we have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds next year, I wonder if we try to trade up to get a stud, or if we are just collecting picks like the Pats.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) With Essian I think they are. Without Essian I think we are better. Personally, with Essian Ghana is also better than Germany. I think Ghana matches up extremely well with the US though, but pound for pound I dont' think they are better. I still think their speed up front matches up badly for the US. This should be a 50/50 based on Essian being out, but I feel like Ghana with the home field gets the nod.
  14. http://www.capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=11 7.1 space? Is that correct?
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) Byfuglien & Aliu gone in the same trade? I never realized that the Bowmans were just huge racists. The trade would save $4.8 from the cap = $3 for Buff + $2 for Sopel + $1 for Eager - $1.2 for Reasoner Not bad. Need to get rid of Huet, probably Steeger and Ladd and start to sign.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) Here is what I would support for the team: Main Move/Subsequent Move Trade for Dunn/DFA Kotsay Promote De Aza/DFA Jones (trade if you can magically get anything for him, maybe even a throw in a Dunn deal) Teahen off DL/Send Frodo down to AAA Start Dayan at 3B/Teahen to bench. Suddenly, the bench becomes: S - Omar Vizquel - 2B/SS/3B L - Mark Teahen - 3B/1B/RF/LF/DH L - Alejandro De Aza - OF/Pinch Runner R - Ramon Castro - C L - Adam Dunn - 1B/DH (starter most of time) Dunn isnt being traded. Whats your next thought.
  17. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) Uh oh.... LaBrun said they are just awaiting NHL approval.
  18. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) I think 5. Morin was 4th in goals this year in the OHL and 1st in PP goals. He's supposed to be a sniper. We have 5.3 in cap space according to my calcs
  19. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) I think 5. Morin was 4th in goals this year in the OHL and 1st in PP goals. He's supposed to be a sniper. Just doing my research on him now, looks like a solid spect, maybe better than Aliu.
  20. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) Same. I was very excited from the day we drafted him to see him play for the Hawks. Bummer. Atl just decided to go all Broad Street Bullies on the East with Buff, Eager and Aliu. Those are three big dirty MF'ers.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:51 PM) So, what are the cap implications here? I think we only saved 4 mil.
  22. Not sure how I feel about this. We didnt save all that much money and we got alot softer. I LOVED Buff, but the other two are expendable with what we have coming up. I considered Aliu part of the future however. The picks are nice to have though.
  23. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:45 PM) ditto. s***. Still trying to calculate why they included him, seemed fair without him.
