QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) Dont worry, he will empty the minors this offseason to "go for it again". i almost dont even mind the fact that KW has emptied the farm, because as of right now we have given up jack that has turned into above average major league talent or that looks like it will... i mean our drafts havent even produced one regular with the exception of chris young over the past 6-7 years....thats awful -

the worst part about all of this is basically that we lost .400 obp (quentin) .355 (and rising with PK) and .315 and are goin to end up replacing it with .345 (griffey) .270 and .295 (anderson and uribe).....ouch -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) konerko aside, i'm still pissed this 5th starter situation is so s***ty. so demoralizing that the sox haven't drafted any decent starting pitching some how KW has been able to sidestep the fact that we havent been able to produce anything from within our own system and especially from our horrendous drafts....it is finally now starting to catch up with us -
at this point im frankly planning on PK not being with the team the rest of the year....we are gonna have to pitch our way back in to this....and frankly i think we need to go to a 4 man rotation the rest of the way....i see no way we can start broadway/poreda on saturday

jesse litsch is quickly becoming one of my least favorite pitchers in baseball...not sure if you classify it as "intense" but the guy sure acts pretty cocky out on the mound, just with his body language and what not -
thank god at least for that griffey trade...this is where our lack of organizational depth just destroys us

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) This team does not want to win. true, they are probably all in the dugout talking to each other about how they can lose -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 03:29 PM) They need to stop showing the "it's amazing what a bunt can do" commercial. yeah no kidding....actually all those commercials are terrible...not sure if its brooks boyer who has input or at least oversees those commercials but if it is he's done just an awful, awful job -

mcdonald is probably the best defensive shortstop in baseball....we've gotten some breaks here from him today -

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) When was the last time we got a hit with RISP? Early Saturday? Just not a good time to be struggling with the bats. not to mention seems like we have gotten killed with 2 outs and RISP.....we gotta hold em down here, can't afford to give another run up, not with the bullpen toronto can march out there (ryan, downs) -
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) MetalliWho? seinfeld reference? if so then ill respond with..."ca"
-
tough game...we got beat by their best today...teixeira vlad saunders krod and hunter....not much you can do...go out and get em tomorrow
-
K-rod with as good of a change up today as ive seen him have...throw that in there with the slider and fastball he has...filthy
-
not often you see that change from krod like pauly got 0-1...that was nasty
-
yeah that was definitely ball 4
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) He hasn't pitched in a couple of months and didnt have a rehab stint. The fact he is breaking 90 is definately worth it. In 2 weeks his arm will be back. Just needs more work. agreed .....lets get 2 and go home
-
his stuff may not be 100% but hes painting corners at 91...ill gladly take that
-
why are you guys blasting linebrink? he walked the guy that he probably should have struck out, and then got a DP ball that just happened to sneak through because of the hit and run
-
QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) I think your knowledge of our farm system is about 2 years out of date. i think he has a point...knuckle ballers are an entirely different entity than normal ptichers....they take longer to develop and their metrics appear to not follow the same rules as normal pitchers.. i dont think it would have hurt to have haeger around for a little while longer
-
so any chance he plays in the playoffs if we get there? can I know griffey played right in cincy, but can he play left for us?
