  1. theres nothing you can do but laugh really hard at that
  2. QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 10:19 PM) Another depressing log for the fire RE: tomorrow. Toby Hall. i guess im just glad we cant send andy gonzalez and darin erstad out there
  3. theres no chance sizemore doesnt run after getting plunked imo
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 10:10 PM) I could imagine a scenario where a team would do it if they were desperate. Something similar to the situation the Brewers were in when they traded for Linebrink last year. Your SS goes down and you're in a playoff hunt, you don't have a rookie ready, etc. I mean, say Jose Reyes went down for the Mets. Other than giving up that #1 guy they wouldn't give up for Johan, would you sacrifice a shot at the playoffs with Johan in your rotation in exchange for 3 decent prospects? or if the cubs realize that cedeno and theriot suck
  5. QUOTE(chisoxt @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 10:08 PM) This team is a sabermetric nightmare: A. Too slow B. Too many strikeouts C. Too few walks D. Naive GM who refuses to recognize A, B and C actually really only C is a sabermetric nightmate
  6. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 10:05 PM) I have trouble finding any team with 4 slower players than Thome, Dye, AJ, and Konerko. hafner martinez garko and blake? thats pretty close....
  7. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 09:35 PM) stone on the score really seems upset and pissed about all the blown calls, at least he's showing some heart unlike these puds on the field how long before mariotti calls him out as being a blow hard homer
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) Jermaine Dye. actually the only player on our squad whose value has increased since 06 is probably vazquez....and maybe boone logan... wow thats bad
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) We won't win many games if we can't hit the long ball. For as much talk as there was about OBP this offseason, the only position where we improved in that category is LF. We're also slower than we were last season. were actually better in obp at a few positions...its just those guys are either on the bench or in AAA
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) I'd be thrilled with a 2-4 start, assuming we lose tonight. I just don't know if this team has what it takes to win games. THRILLED with 2-4? i dont care how bad you think we are, but if you are thrilled to be 2-4 thats sad...that means you are basically expecting 0-6, happy if 1-5 and thrilled if 2-4...thats some low expectations
  11. wheres that cliff politte picture yelling after he walked in a run to win it against detroit in the old time jerseys...thats about how i feel right now
  12. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) What exactly did Uribe do? Amazing what can happen if you take pitches and making pitchers work. 98 pitches for javier
  13. im still taking a little bit of solace in the fact that joe borowski will be pitching the 9th inning
  14. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 08:31 PM) How long b4 Alexi is in AAA? when owens gets healthy i think
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) How many more innings before people start calling for Walker's head? thats not even a dunk in your avatar! he came up like 2 feet short...ill never understand why people loved that so much, i mean it was a cool idea...but he didnt execute it
  16. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 08:04 PM) man my mlb.tv is wayyyyyyyyyyy behind if you reload it, it will jump ahead....especially if you are watching on 1.2M, it tends to lag here and there and fall way back...reloading it will bring you back somewhat up to speed...or just use the 800K feed, that tends to lag behind less
  17. the more i see of cabrera the more i like him...at least offensively so far
  18. QUOTE(JFields27 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) Id give Anderson a game then cross him out and put in CQ .. and thats only me being nice .. I would so rather see CQ in there yeah, i like quentin over anderson too....but im at least for anderson playing over uribe, with ramirez to 2b....that said its gonna suck when owens gets back and we have owens in center and ramirez back to AAA with uribe still playing 2b
  19. outside of the one HR crede hit in ST against the giants....has he hit a ball hard yet? i guess the double yesterday, but he didnt hit anything hard in ST at all....like 3 of his like 7 hits were IF hits... indians announcers are ragging on uribes free swinging....pretty funny
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 07:44 PM) Here's the problem with that....all offseason, we've heard how vital it is for the Sox to come out of the gates strong. With our early schedule, we can't afford the growing pains that Ramirez is likely to go through. I also don't understand why we have him batting 7th instead of 9th. take a look at whos batting 9th ....thats why
