QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) I don't have a problem with that 3-0 strike call after the first pitch of that at bat should have been a strike. yeah i dont have a problems with umpires being inconsistent in their balls and strikes either -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) No, Swisher has 0 walks in his last 5 AB's. Because walks don't count as AB's. touche -

um so why did jermaine just stand there and watch that fall in front of him -
im a pretty big fan of len kasper and bob brenely, i think they are good announcers...but i am really starting to get annoyed with len kasper cracking his voice on every run scoring hit of the game.....baaaaAAAASEEE HHHIiiit.....

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) It's too bad Cecil Cooper just left Oswalt in to die. oswalt sure looks very average doesnt he? no Ks today, 10 hits...11 hits last time in 5.1 against the padres....didnt have that good biting curve today or that extra umph on his fastball....good thing too i drafted him in just about each of my fantasy leagues i cant believe cooper left him in that long

the red sox have only 17 runs in 5 games (and only 2 in 5 innings today)...i think that offense could be starting to get real old, real fast...i think boston fans will finally realize that they took for granted how good manny and ortiz had been as they both are now clearly on the downside of their career (manny for sure, probably with ortiz too).... thats not to say they wont hit this year, but im not sure they will be the juggenaut they were for a while

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) Xtra innings typically has every game with the exception to games you would be blacked out to (ie teams in your region and than any Fox National Games). There are ocassional exceptions but I'd say you get 90% or so of the Sox games. WCIU games are not carried (so you have to hope the road teams feed gets carried). thanks alot, i currently have mlbtv (havent been able to get extra innings in the past few years) but now i can get extra innings and am thinking of switching over...can you buy extra innings by the month? or is it season long only? I am heading back to chicago when my semester is over in june

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) mlb extra innings is the way to go! i currently have a free preview of mlb extra innings through comcast...but today it says they are only broadcasting 4 games. is this common? or is it just because it is a preview? Basically I want to know if i get extra innings, will all the sox games be on?

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) See, that's the thing. Strikeouts aren't really much worse than any other out. The fact that he has good power and a decent eye largely mitigate his low average and high K rate. I'd argue that I'd much rather have a player like Fields at the plate than someone like Crede -- Crede might not strike out much but his low avg, horrible eye, and decent power all overshadow this. great post...unlike yourself, so many people on here choose to ignore the hundred years or so worth of statistics that suggest that a strike out is basically the same as any other out

there will always be too positive and too negative comments...its how it is...the people who hate a specific player will post when that player does something bad, and the people who back that player will post when he does something good, that just makes it seem like a complete bipolar board, but its inevitable and theres nothing you can do about it in general i think the mods are good at removing/moving the threads that subtract from the site. my biggest frustrations are when there are like 15 topics talking about the same thing (ie joe crede vs. josh fields). i come to the board because it is the best place for my sox centered world...its a central place to find sox news that might be posted at many different sites across the net, but all those articles and tidbits are generally linked or localized here, which makes it really convenient to find all the sox info out there....i also love the minor league game threads as its the best place on the net to find out how the sox prospects did that day things i dont like: any poll....quite frankly there is just rarely a good, and relevant one posted. also i hate the constant bickering that goes on between some posters that takes over threads, but thats inevitable as well

QUOTE(Shamrock4Life @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 05:24 PM) I would imagine it works overseas unless the Chinese government blocks it. Usually extra innings is billed in four cycles, so you should be able to get it then cancel it. but don't hold me to that. are all games on extra innings? on the preview tonight only like 5 of the 7 oclock games are on...is that just cuz its a preview, or does normal extra innings only give you a handful of all the games as well?♠

yesterday i tried to log in right when the game started and it said i was blacked out due to regional restrictions....i have no idea why, im watching from boston...anyways thankfully i remembered comcast was doing free mlbextra innings preview til april 6th, so i hope it starts working for me
