  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 05:07 PM) For the people watching, has the ump been as bad as seemingly Ozzie, Swisher, and a few others have thought? i know pauly and ozzie didnt like the called third to PK in the first....you could see pauly slowly walk back to the dugout after it...i think this is stemming from the fact that he called the low outer corner in the first, now the high one here
  4. anyone watching the cubs game? gameday just said there was a sac bunt 1st and 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of 9th tie game...was it a failed suicide or something??
  5. the following pitchers have pitched in the cubs pirates game: Kevin Hart, Carmen Pignatiello, Michael Wuertz, Phil Dumatrait, Franquelis Osoria, Tyler Yates, and John Grabow....but no the national league isnt worse than the AL

  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:51 PM) We can't keep stranding these runners. as long as we keep gettin em on...we'll eventually get em in
  9. QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:48 PM) Swisher walks. Great AB. 2 on, 2 out. yeah 10 pitch walk...thats how you raise a guys pitch count
  10. QUOTE(kjshoe04 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) Doesn't happen much with the twins. yeah an agressive approach isnt the worst idea in this game,
  11. man blackburn has such an easy delivery to the plate
  12. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) 34 pitches through 2 innings. in best jay leno voice from major league two...."thats kind of alot"
  13. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:35 PM) wow javy might make it through the 6th inning with around 100 pitches at this rate i hope he makes it through 6
  14. for as good a javy was late in ST, hes been that bad thus far during the regular season
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) Blackburn threw a TON of strikes in the 1st. After going 2-0 on Swisher I believe he only threw 2 balls to the next 5 hitters. 18 pitches/14 strikes 19 pitches 15 strikes i read somewhere that the twins pitchers have more balks 2, than walks 1.....1 walk is absurd so far this year
  16. if thome stays healthy he could lead the league in RBIs
  17. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) he has the potential. Cuddyer isnt swinging a weak stick either cuddyer is on the DL
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) Morneau, Mauer and Young arent power hitters? I beg to differ mauer isnt...
  19. javy has really had poor command in his first start and thus far today...got behind each hitter so far
  20. QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) infield bunt single for gomez. vaz dropped the ball but no chance either way can we get bossard to change the lines so that bunts no longer stay fair, now that we dont bunt and run alot
  21. QUOTE(beautox @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) In Terms of Production is see him as a better Version of Pat Burrell, a lesser version of JD Drew but with a better attitude and a bit more power; i think he'll OPS over 900 more than twice in his career and play a well above average RF. wow...i would consider pat burrell a bit better than j.d. drew
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 01:10 PM) Morgan just isn't that smart about what players have accomplished. Ie, him saying Dye would have a tremendous season ignoring the fact that two years ago Jermaine had one of the best seasons in all of baseball. He just makes a lot of puzzling comments. I don't mind him because he has a good broadcasting voice but a lot of times you have to take his statements at heart. Including the comments about the Sox becoming a smart ball type of club because that is just a major misconceptoin about the 05 Sox. Yes they had Pods a top the order but the big key was the rotation and pen and you can't ignore the fact that the 05 Sox could still slug homers with the best of em. i know im in the vast minority, but i love joe morgan...he has a way better baseball mind than alot of people give him credit for...everyone says hes stupid...hes not at all...perhaps hes not entirely educated about the players in the game today, but he is plenty educated about the actual game play...plus i get the sense that the guy truly enjoys a good baseball game, and has a deep appreciation for the subtleties that exist in each and every game...and i personally think he communicates that very well....i feel if there is every a trick on a good pick off move from a pitcher, or a mechanical flaw with a base runner, he picks up on it and lets his audience know.....hes a throwback type guy, which is what i love with announcers (why i like hawk and harry callis and vin scully) you just hear alot about ERAs of baseball that you dont hear about many other places... not to mention goddamn that guy had one hell of a swing
