Carl Evrett is exactly the type of player we could have replaced Maggs with (assming Maggs is dealt for pitching talent not just given away) Everett is making 10.5 Mill less, is only 1.5 years older, runs as well as Maggs and would probably be as solid in RF and can probably drive in 90-100 runs in a year. The the extra 10-15 runs Maggs drives in would be more than covered by the 10.5 Mill spent on a true ace. Plus what you get from Maggs trade (say, Soraino if Sheffiled stiffs them)
