  1. Like I said, if you can get LA to caugh up Mota, Miller, Jackson, more power to you. "downward trends as player gets older' arguement doesn't quite work if a said player is only 30yo. His chronic wrist meanwhile is IMO a much bigger concern than his age or the semi-random park splits. (btw hitters rave about geat hitting background at USCF, so once Nomar settles in, it should be a problem) So, are you saying that Fenway was not favorable to Nomar's brand of offense in 1997-2000, but become so as he "aged" in 2001-2003? I don't buy it, at least not as much as you seem to. If he is healthy, he is easily in the same class offesnively as Maggs, is a slightly better baserunner and defensive player at a much tougher defensive position....all the while costing 2.5 Mill less and bringing more recogniztion and Scott Williamson with him. If he is NOT healthy, however, then the trade is a wash. Time will tell.
  2. The gray background alone makes unreadable, don't get started on bright-red sreen names... And that's just two of their lesser problems, keep in mind.
  3. Or so they tell me. Traitors.
  4. If he hits (99 RBI) and runs (slower) and fields (declined) like he did in 2003, they are gonna turn on him very quickly. Before you know it, "class act" will turn to "boring".
  5. No seriously, that place is so one-dimensional, so somber and creepy, I can't see how they get more than 20 users... SoxTalk is gaining some major steam, though.
  6. That distinction is imporant because in June (if we are in contention), 10 Million buys us Palmeiro AND One Gone.....to put behind Lee and Thomas. So it's Maggs for Mota, Jackson, Miller, Palmeiro, Gonzo if the Nomar deal don't come through. So we throw in Felix Diaz and Pacheco, who cares.
  7. WSI record is 220 also set today.
  8. Yeah....barefoot and preggers. :fyou Nomar. She don't love you.
  9. Dude, I don't know if you're being facetious or not, but there are 39 posters on SoxTalk with 1900 posts or more and only 9 categories (taking away foreign, rookie, thread, Mod, Admin which you weren't eligible for) to fit in. So those 39 people were basically battling for 43 spots.....along with dozens if not hundered of posters with less than 2000 posts......And considering such very deserving people as witesoxfan, Critic, whitesox247, HSC, JimH, SI1020, LDF, FlaSoxxJim, Pastime, Tizzle, KochThis, Fainter, baggio, winodj, Jauggernaut, ws10682, WinUgly and a few others didn't get ONE nom......all b****ing is misplaced. Post more, post better and you won't be snubbed in 2004. The end.
  10. Or Honel or Rauch. Munoz, Ginter, Yofu....take your pick. A cheap starter A-talent? No f***ing thanks.
  11. Here is a novel idea: keep them BOTH. And Danny Wright in the pen. Boston is close to non-tendering Williamson, correct? They in no position to f*** around with OTHER team's prospects...especially if said team has to keep its cheap talent for SURVIVAL because of the dire financial situ. And Nomar? I like him, but here are a few things that have come to light since: 1. His f***ing wrist. It's like a singer having throat problems, a big deal. 2. His magnificent choke in first 10 playoffs games. 3. His home-away splits in last 3 years. 4. His ever-increasing salary. (up to 12 Mill now) 5. Age (he is 30+) 6. He simply doesn't want to come to the White Sox. Nomar alone isn's worth Magglio and Cotts/Rauch because of the above 6. we are doign Red Sox a favor by throwing in Arnie Munoz. If they don't him, then f*** off. PS Rauch is NOT a finesse pitcher even if he doesn't get it up to 94-95 anymore. 91-93 with a sharp 10-6 curve and fast slider is anything BUT finesse. Mark Burhle is finesse and he doesn;t have the advantage of being 6'10'' with tree trunk legs and long arms. Just saying, don't give Rauch or Cotts or Honel away for nothing.
  12. She might be on the old side and not exactly conventionally beautiful, but like Mia Hamm she is immensely desireable IMO.
  13. The stupid little s*** doesn't realiza teo things: 1. He won't be BOOED here nearly as much as he would be/was in Beustawn. Do you know how much flak he caught for his playoffs performance? He was the single biggest reason why Boston BARELY survived getting swept by the A's and Red Sox Army let him know they will never forget it.......As a result, Prince Neurotic will have easier time relaxing which should only help his OPS, which in turn will only HELP his huge-ass contract in 2004 off-season......If Sox are wnning from the get go, he will be loved on SouthSidelike no other. 2. Not that Mays is shelved, Santana not same after surgery, Milton shipped and one of Radke/Reed/Rogers gone....ALC, as a whole, is gonna have a REMARKABLY s***ty pitching. Noma is gonna see so many 2-0 counts and hanving curve and get me over 90mph fasttballs, it's not even funny. Again, will bode well for his numbers.
  14. Wtf is wrong with people? Considering he is JUST getting healthy, why would people want to see Rauch go before Diaz or Munoz?
  15. You forgot about Itzsiuturis and Jackson.
  16. EXACTLY. And if we ARE in first place in late July, we could use extra money (JR I am looking in your direction) to get a Hudson/Guerrero-type player from a team falling out of contention specifically for the playoffs at a PRORATED cost/prospects. How much is Perez getting in Arbitration? 4-5 Mill? Then they probably get a Danny Wright-type prospect from us.....Again, I'd do it because we save a few millions but I am SICK of Dodger arrogance. They talk about Mota as if he is Mariano Rivera....jerkoffs.
  17. So mebelieves they have a massive case of STFU headin' their way. Konerko may ge back to 850 OPS/100 RBI ways next year, who's to say. While Perez is a 4.50+ EREA pitcher in AL, away from Dodger Stadium, at best. Now that Maggs and Nomar and Valentin and Koch are seemingly getting dumped for prospects, Sox can wait on Konerko, auditiion him in ST and April (he likes Aprils) and then get more for him from other teams. Meanwhile Dodgers are going to be back 5-6 games of the Ginats by that point.
  18. Dodger fans....How many home-grown All-Stars did they have in the last 5 years, again?
  19. As long as he hits from left side only, I'd rather see Valentin at SS at 5 Mill......and get Mota, Jackson and Miller from the Dodgers to along with Williamson. You save 10 Mill in the process as well. Sox won't resign Nomar after 2004 anyway.
  20. Did you guys even look at his splits versus LHP'ers? Pretty good for someone making 300K. Now if Jeremy Reed could only muster 800 OPS against RHP, we'd be in BISNEZZZZ as far as CF platoon. (I don't want to see Rauch OR Wright go to Boston. Give them Diaz)
  21. Why are we not counting 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 again? Again, hopefully his wrist is completly healed and his eye improves somewhat when he is no longer in his 20s (if Carlos Lee could learn to walk 75 times in a given year, Nomar should draw at least 50) and we win the trade by getting a better all-around player who has more crowd/ESPN appeal, at 2.5 Mill less AND Scott Williamson. Or, just get me Mota, Miller and Jackson from LA if Valentin and Koch are not traded by then. Wither way works for me.... :fyou Greedy Players Association.
  22. Is there a NTN version for people with short attention span and retention capacity? Y'all make it sound so damn intriguing, and I am old enough to go to bars, lol....But I don't think my ego could take not knowing most answers. So keep all this thread-bumping to a minimum, don't tempt me.
  23. Damn, you're the only person who got the Bob Crane reference. Mad respects, pops. .
