That'd be a shame....but I am a big boy now, I believe I can find strenght to carry on. Now HSC on the other hand....

Yes, the arrogace is always a dead giveaway. **slaps hiself upside the forehead***

1. My post had more of a philosophical/abstract slant to it. 2 I specifically mentioned not losing sleep over "healthy grudges" at one point. I can heat up pretty fast and I cool down even faster, call it psychological agility or some such if you must. 3. As far as people deserving it, for one I don't think Internet is any different from real life, a jerk is a jerk is a jerk, like Michelle said there are real people behind screen names...It's too small a sample you say? So what, I know enough about bmr and Roman and Clu to know we probably wouldn't get along, and they get no exemption from me on the account of the message board. Like I said, if it was a misunderstanding, I would have given it a chance to be cleared, especially with the latter two. Alas, it wasn't. No biggie. By the same token, many posters that I do like I make it clear if not by actual words, then certainly in the playful tone I use, no shame in that...Which of course doesn't preclude from having having heated arguements, which are always fun- for example. do you think I like you less after SAT misunderstanding/run in? Hardly the case. Now if one were to totally not remember anyting posted by anyone (whether by choice or simple lack of mental capacity) or were reluctant (or unable) to make emotional bonds, however temporary or illusory, with some people over the Net...it's their choice too. I don't share that particular view, not always anyway, but I realize it's their MO. What I don't see is how it makes a person "better" or "smarter" as seems to be the implication oftentimes. If it's indicative of anything, it would be apathy or unsociability. And you never know who may meet who and when. For example, would you have guessed that a certain poster I knew abck in the day turned out to be the lead singer of Red September? Not that it matters to my point anyway.

Will Ferrel was a man among girls on that show, wasnt he?

So I guess trying to asnwer your question(s) pertaining to testing/admission thingy may be construed in some circles as "dishing it out"...Good to know. Oh God...what did I do this time?

A cool chick with a sense of humor who digs b-ball? What's not no love? My Nat hates the game witha passion of 10000 suns (her words)

Rolls-Royce stole his mojo. Literally.

I think the word is rather harmless if not used toward a Black person or end with "-igger" If you only knew how much I had to fight peope who come from countries, including mine, where the N word was a legitimate term used to describe a race, like "Caucasian". I did them a favor because if they were to use that word in the wrong crowd, they'd get their asses whoooped.

Likewise if Frank Thomas were to rediscover his batspeed and confidence, it would make my day as a Sox fan. No, make that a week.

Who cares about back-n-forth BS, like I said, it's not name-calling if it's justified. Now hating on gays and assuming Steff/HSC are delusional poseuers among other numerous things you've said in the past....is another story alotegether. It's doesn't even require "names" to be insulting, no?
-
Forget about the ribbing, if you only knew how much I adore HSC. I want to make, like, 10,000 of her babies. This is the only Internet sight I frequent anymore anyway. [slight exaggeration] If Chisoxfn and HSC were to stop posting news and stuff, I would probably stop coming here altogether [/slight exaggeration]

I've seen too much of Danzel movies (T-Day) last year....Besides, nobody is more PC than me, just go to the Todd Jones thread.

Excuse me, but since when having a grudge is a bad thing? Since when disliking (deservingly) bad people for their attitude/deeds is a sign of a personal flaw or, worse, a crime? If I am going to like someone who's been good to me, it's only natural to despise someone who is the opposite....In what New Agey, utopian PC fantasy is that bad or unnatural ? It's doesn't mean that the person is not "normal"...All it mean is that the person has enough mental capacity to remember who is who and what more or less major events/actions have transpired. As long as the person doesn't lose sleep over the healthy grudge and has enough good will to give another person a chance to "correct" the grudge-causing mistake (if in fact it wasn't deliberate), I say it's all good....In fact it's a sign of strenght and the fact that the person is passionate and has enough self-respect and vitality to not take abuse lightly... Sure, civility and tact can go a long way, but sometimes they are just not effective or needed. And playing it cool for the image sake doesn't fool anyone, anyway...Might as welll wear your heart on your sleeve, if only for one's own cathartic benefit, lol Select WSI peeps have been jerks to a lot of people, I personally may not care about being banned, but I can uderstand why a lot of people would be pissed at them. Thst is all.

No, of course not. Naming your son Guido would f*** him up for life.
-
There is something about uncalled for "asshole" and "wind-sock" that stears a hot-head like me the wrong way. I am sure you understand. Go in peace.
-
Who are Guido and Killa? Not your sons I hope.

It'd be wholalot funnier if Jose's 2000-2002 OPS (what's that you say?) wasn't nearly a whopping 150 points higher than Clayton's, and his RBI/at bat ratio...well let's just say it doesnt come out favorably for the Choice (Clayton is also one of the most overrated defensive player of all time, no range, tiny arm, Brewers are losing games because him on weekly bases. But who is counting, right?) Deja vu.
-
But that's the thing- he is NOT terrible defensively when you consider how many runs he causes versus how many he saves at the end of the year. That's the biggest misconception about Jose, a subpar fielder overall but not lisbility he is portrayed as...I can understand when some people who never see the games assume he is bad because 9 errors is indeed a lot (less than Tejada, Furcal, Enfante and Garciaparra BTW)....but they don't see "when" the errors are made as well as his skills that allow him to saver a bunch of runs when it's all said and done. You are watching games, however, so I am suprised why you don't see how many runs Crede/Jimenez/Konerko/Graffanino "brought in" defensively versus Jose.
-
Yes, it must have been affirmative action that did it....if Borchard is black or hispanic, I bet he gets sent
-
As bad as he has been, he is 3rd on the team in RBI and second in runs scored. 1 error in last 17 games. Give him and his assets (range, arm, DP-turning, RBI prowess, basrunning, off leadership) a chance until you can find something to replace him with. This topic is a dead horse.
-
Finally somebody with some f***ing baseball sense! Jas, what happened? You usually make great baseball commentary, but I with respect to that play/Jose I am disagreeing with vehemently.
-
No, Jas, he wouldn't. If past is any indication, they send Jose almost every time and he scores on that double with 2 outs. The fact that they stopped Borhard says something about his chances at the plate. There is no way an awkward Borchard who gets bad reads on the BP as wwell we defense, is faster on the base paths. That's just wishful thinking on your part. Ask Sox 3rd base coach of you ever get a chance.
-
I disagree; as a part-time player his value goes down significantly. Him being platooned with Clayton only reinforced it. On weeks where he got 3 or more consecutive starts, he did great. Other times, his timing weas way off and he was missing pitches he normally kills. He is no Vander Walt, either start him at SS or trade him and get a "Renteria" type if you can. He needs to work on recognizing rotation again, something he did so well in 2000. He will be ok.
-
That's just short-sighted IMO. Jose's errors have cost the Sox the grand total of 3-4 runs all season. (I am not even going to go into how many he saves with range, arm and especially DP...) Graffanino's cost the Sox 4-5 runs--in essense the whole game--- in ONE game. Hence the "clutch" part in "clutch defense". Like his baserunning, people only start appreciating it only when OTHER players' f***ups lead to absolute implosions. Most people agree with you and not me? That's because most fans never look beyond numbers. Plain and simple.
