  1. This stat is very misleading: from what I've seen, Joe has taken a season's worth of terrible swings this year in May alone...I'd rather have a guy who swings and misses twice and then delivers on 2-2 count than a guy who fouls off 5 ball-4s and then proceeds to weekly pop it up like Joe has done so many times. At least when you swing and miss, you give yourself a chance to stay alive with less than 2 strikes to say nothing of allowing the baserunner to steal a base even if you do go down swinging. No way Crede belongs in the same group as EEEchiro!, Jimenez, Mueller or Catalonato. Like I said, this stat is alomost useless by itself.
  2. I chose not to watch the game, but it sounds like vintage Koney this year...you've had one disgusted look on your face, you've had them all, lol. If it were up to me, DP would subtract from total bases, thus lowering the transgressing player's OPS accordingly. Koney has hit into 13 DP? Well that means he has 13 less singles/walks, which means his already pathetic 590 OPS is actually around 530. Frank Thomas is dong as bad as PK? That's true...if only you can disregard a whopping 300 point difference in their respective OPS. Hurt is much closer to Delgado than to Konerko this season.
  3. How do you figure? Clayton plays one of the toughest defensive positiions (albeit he is pretty mediocre), runs much faster, has higher OPS and more RBIs in a weak lineup...And makes 5 times less than PK. I should have said "the wrost non-pitcher player in MLB".
  4. i think you misunderstood what i was tryin to get across there brando.... im not sayin be predictable but hell dont put on a show makin someone think they are gettin something they really arent ... do ya get my drift??? Oh, you mean like the Joe Millionaire type thing? Then yeah, I agree if your relationship is based on false pretenses, I can certainly see how it can get f***ed up very quick...There is always a fine line. What I was tying to get at, though, is the "game" on the more or less minor level, which that poor-me double standard article (and many of it's ilk like the "rules" one) was partly about I think. On one hand all that superficial crap can seem totally self-absorbed and annoying...on the other hand, it's an art in itself and in some form is pretty indispensible to a white hot relationship as far as I am concerned. Again YMMV. Another problem I have with the "laying the cards on the table" concept is that even if I saw any point in that (which I don't, serious lying notwithstanding), how exactly to you go about it? It's not like you can encapsulate your own existence/essence in one or two digestable sentences so that the other person could just "get it" and everything will become perfect and convenient and easy thereafter...
  5. Is Paul Konerko the worst player in baseball this season? Seriously someone asked the question and I dismissed it with a laughter, afterall Paulie is a proven All-Star just coming into his prime, right? Now that I think about it...his OPS is pathetic made worse by a ton of DPs hit into; baserunning very bad; and his defense at one of the easiest fielding positions is below-average at best. Plus he is making what 8 Mill a year....
  6. They would play worst than Jose is playing...i dont think so. Stick to soccer, Rafa, K? Oley, Oley, Ole, Oley.... This guys love Jose and his dick...i dont know why??? Jose is sucking offensevelly and defensevelly. Why you little prick, did you just call me a honckey?! They fight crime.

    What should

I think it's "Behind every beautiful/hot/successful woman is a guy who is bored with her". (See: Berry, Halle.)
  9. Yeah, it didn't exactly do justice the Kundera's masterpiece, but literary translation are always tricky business, and I think the movie had it's share re-edeeming qualities, especially the international trio of very strong actors, Overall so-so, but I'd rate it way above the typical "serious" H-wood hack jobs hiding under culture/history veneer. (see: Beloved, Immortal, etc) That said, there is no possible way ULoB even compares to the two vile, disgustingly pretentious movies I mentioned above, the have NO reediming qualities whatsoever. None. Do not ever let your children watch it. EVER. I thought you'd catch the I am Curious (Yellow)-type controversy justly surrounded them as they came out during your heyday.
  10. Anyone watch Burly's last two performances? Early in the season it seemd his good cutter on the hands wasn't working and he abandoned it, instead choosing to nible on the outside corner, which is something Parque-type pitchers are forced to do.....So did he have it or not? I know he almost never uses his curve and slider anymore and his change and fatsballs is average at best. WTF? How does he expect to survive, by working quickly?
  11. Nope you didn't. I guess I was expecting you to back up my claims that I'm a real looker. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Oh, you're a looker alright. Burnt holes right thru me BWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You owe me a new keyboard. Electronic device....Mouth full of orange juice....Spunky chick humor creeping up on you like Junior Seau on glue...... = recipe for disaster.....lol
  12. I don't know about the best of all time...but I've seen hands down the worst "serious" movies of all time recently...I raise you "Salo" and "In the Realm of the Senses".Both were made in mid-70's and are unwatchable. The worst part is that they are both rated R in some rentals and kids can easily grab them off the shelve. Sure way to get f***ed up for life.
  13. Far be it for me to defend all that "rules" nonsense (it goes for men and women btw).......but I gotta admit that "putting on a show" and other suprises and eternal mysteries of love is a big part of dating for me. I just don't want to get to a point where everything about Nat is predictable and convenient and unexciting...even if it means paying the price like burning the relationship out after a few glorious years...Say what you will about BBT-Angelina Jolie-type love, it's least it's all-consumming and nearly everyday is an adventure. Give me two years of that than 30 years of Clinton-Hillary mutual usage crap.... No, I say bring on all the hi-lo tempestuousness, occasional personality clashes and, of course, lots and lots of make-up sex!

  15. Not like her? [crossingfingers] She's my precious little meal ticket [/crossingfinger] Besides, some of those diaries can be pretty addictive, you're lucky you never fell under one's spell.

    What should

Let the record show that not once in my 995 posts have I taken a shot at your g/f situ As far as breakups go, yeah it sucks, but don't discount the great years, the happiness and the flaming passion that went into the whole thing just because there is a chance that she might not be the one. Who knows maybe she is still...and even if not, look at it like your chance to start over and explore new ground, you truly never know wheree it's gonna take you.
  17. Perdue, UI and Champaigne all da way, baby!
  18. I was just starting my acting study at the tender age of 19+ (my peers enrolled have a whole lifetime of work by that age, lol) and I just couldn't afford to be online for nearly 2 years. I tried to post late 2001 once on WSI but they kicked me out over a spat with Randar. It was it for me until my schedule wasn't as unforgiving since April 03.
  19. But you can never have enough pitching...nevermind if your system is devoid of ready made positional talent... I told you guys ESPN had a wealth of undiscovered posting talent If only LSD, Rdivaldi, Boog and whitesox6011 could be enticed to switch over..... God anyone but Boog... I miss the rest of those guys though. Not to be all horn-tooting about it...but as soon as I signed up here I was practically begging Rio to bribe B-Joe, you, EJ and the rest of the gang into coming over... Yay fror me! Who did you post as over there? DimaAl88. I posted a bit in late 2000 and a few more times in 2001. But I do remember you guys though and i remember Mario just starting out with SN.

  22. He might not have a great comedic range...but when it comes to a certain type of comedy, like Steven Colbert (NW alumni), he is a genius. The Cowbell sketch was one of my favorite, the way he cracked Jimmy Fallon and Saenz up repeatedly. But then again it had Cristopher Walken in it, so it had to be sublimely hilarious. Such is the Lorne Michaels Comedy of the Week reality. I know a few people working for SNL (2 personal personal staffer and a techical advisor) and as they say as nice as LM is, and as good as his sketch comedy ear is (or rather was)...he has a Jewish Napoleon Complex, which safely assures that no quality movie will come from his production. Farrel should be ok though, too much unique comedic talent. I also like Amy Poehler from UCB and Maya Rudolph- did you know she was Minnie's daughter? How cool is that? I practically learned English watching the late 90's SNL (and Sopranos, Simpsons). Kattan along with Jimmy Fallon and Horatio were always terrible and annoying as hell and they are the reasons I have given up on the show almost 2 years ago. Kirsten Dunst ep was good, tho.
  23. What makes you think she doesn't know? Considering how many f***ing online diaries she used to force me to "check out", I think this "transgression" of mine ain't s***.
