  1. Again, "little things" good players do are only appreciated when they are not done and games end up being lost...and losses pile up and bite you in the ass in the pennnant race.
  2. Worst player in baseball this season, hands down.
  3. Btw Borchard just run into Jose on a flyball....And what does Jose do when gets up? Pats JoBo on the back and they run to the dugout together discussing the play, all smiles. Agin, like after win in Toronto, it's the little things that don't show up in stats and don't really exist if you don't watch the games...Can you imagine what would happened if Mr. Million Dollar Braids got rammed into, with possibility of him being injured by a rookie on a stupid play? Why he'd be pissed at him for the remainer of his life, which only would made the chemistry worse and JoBo wouldn't have learned what he did wrong on the play... Borchard just doubled,,,,
  4. It's total BS because of: 1. I almost always preface Jose posts by saying stuff like "he's been dead cold for about a month now"....or "up until he came to Chicago, he was a deeply mediocre underachiever"....or "he is still a below average defensively..." 2. You give me so much ammo by indiscriminantely throwing error and avg. totals out there and pomposly pretending like it's case closed. It's the arrogance that's gets to me, very unlike you when it comes to Jose....My "worshipping" reaction isnone other than a backlash to countless shallow "Jose is horrible" posts, I simply pointed out facts and my opinion thereon. 3. At various times, I have defended Carlos Lee, Miguel Olivo, Billy Koch, Flash Gordon, Brian Daubach, Paul Konerko, Graffanino and especially Jimenez (ask Steff on the latter one, lol)...........At various times I have severely criticized Frank Thomas, Joe Crede, and my former favorite Sox players, Albert Belle and Ray Durham.....So I can be very objective about players, and if Jose continues at this rate for the remainder of the year (unlikely), I will be tearing him a new one on these boards more than once, believe you me. 4. I don't believe that things like "spiritual leadership" and "clubhouse attitude" are worthless like some of you seem to do. So sue me....I also truly think there is such a thing as clutch. Ditto.
  5. everytime Carlos Lee slides- he does this awkward-ass split or bends his knee or ankle at the angle it shouldn't be bend....Injury waiting to happen. And this is only going to get worse as he ages and becomes heavier, this reckless s*** needs to stop.
  6. Just got back and what do I see? Nevermind the fact that he was out by half a step, so far (GiDP season totals): Jose (3).... Bagwell, Konerko (12)....Batasta, P. Wilson, Molina (10).......Clayton, Boone, Manny, S. Green, Renteria (9).......Ordonez, Vladimir, Bernie, Lowell, Robbir Alomar (9)....Vizquel, Vernon Wells (8) Yeah, your derision is so very appropriate, Vince....
  7. Good...because cwsox can debate anyone under the table.
  8. Everyone needs a hero (Sox) and a villain or two (Cubs and Twins) in the great theater that is baseball. My name is BrandoFan Maximus, commander of the English language, a proud Cub hater.....and I will have my revenge in this life or the next.
  9. In the unlilkely event that this is true...it still makes you remarkably unfun to hang out with, white boy. Oh and we need to raise our taxes to the levels currently used in Ther Greater Prussian Umpire.
  10. Hey Brando. It´s Denilson and he is a average player, what he only do is dribbling, he doesnt kick well. George VEA??? i think it is George Weah... Ronaldo is the best player in the world. He and Zidane meake the Real Madrid squad the best ever. It´s like a movie watch them play. Djalminha, another brazilian, IMO, has the best ball-dribling skill in the world. The brazilian soccer is the best in the world in all skills. Romario is another great player. Do u remember him in 94??? He is striker, he is like Barry Bonds and Ronaldo is like A-Rod. Maradona was a great player but he is asshole and drug user. I hate him, he is so stupid that he is a racist motherf***er. Players from Argentina envy the brazilian´s play. They are racist and they call the brazilian players of monkey. Cool, but I was strictly talking about ball-handling skills not personality flaws or shhooting ability. When I saw Denilsen in 1998, he took a ball from right side of midfield and slalomed past 7 players, the most amazing thing I've ever seen with a ball...outside of George Weah sticking it to 5 players at the same time but in a penalty box when he was with Monaco. I was told crazy things about old cripple Garincha when he played with Pele used to be the best dribbler in the world despite having one leg 4 inches shorter than the other. My info is a bit outdated (soccer was my life and Netherlands was my favorite team up until 1996 when I exchanged soccer cleats for a magical unicorn).......I think I did mention Ronaldo (Romario, Davids could handle the ball too) and I only remember a young Zidane from his Bordeax (sp?) days and he was no where near as good as he has become 5-6 years ago; Beckham, Figu, Del Piero and Raul were all better as a young players than Zinedine...Baggio was great in the early 90's and so was Stoichovic. What do you think about Shevchenco from Milan, all-around? My favorite player of all time was Marco Van Basten....GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  13. Thanks, Killa...Speaking of leadership/intangibles, you know what trhe first thing they showed as soon as the game was over? Manos putting his arm around Jimenez shoulder and smiling his ass off. Have you noticed that DJ himself is smiling pretty often himself lately? Hell, if Jose had a hand in turning around underachieving youngster's attitude or work ethic, which in turn allows him to become an all star 2b, leadoff guy for the Sox for years to come....that alone would be HUGE even if Jose ends up having a mediocre season and is gone next year IMO. Hey, I'll be the first one to admits that Jose has been disappointing so far; his OBP need to go up 50-60 points and the RBI numbers are not nearly up to par even if not exactly terrible....Having said that, most knee-jerk Jose bashers are simply not looking beyond one-dimensional number totals (error and average)....Jose is finally starting to actually see the ball and there was never a qustion about his bat being live, he is finally healthy and is playing on regular basis for the first time since 2000 (which in turn was the first time in his underachiving career). I still think Jose will get 80-90+ RBI when it's all said and done, and that is just great from your SS all intangibles considered. Crede, Konerko, Rios, Daubach, Tejada are some of the players who are having worse seasons than Jose so far.
  14. I've just finished watching yesterday's game...Great outing by E-Lo and Maggs. Thomas and Daubach had 3 lineouts between them, no luck whatsoever, good game oversall. Marte and Koch were near automatic. Great sign...The only true negative was Crede, he didn't look loike a major leaguer once again, what an enigma. This was a perfect game to re-enforce my point about Jose being a "winner" even when he is dead cold at the plate (which he has been for a month now...though to be fair 730 OPS and 23 Rbi from a SS hitting from 2nd/7th spot is not all that bad...when he inevitably gets hot, the numbers will go up). Anyway, here is what he did that once again will NOT show up in stats at th end of the year and thus will be ignored by the likes of rafa and cwsox: --Walks, takes second after a tiny bounce in the dirt, the look on catcher's face said it all. Could have taken 3rd on the next play but since there were two outs he decided not to sense to risk it. Again, he won't get a benefit of a SB (or two if he'd gone), but that's what it basically was. Soon pitchers will realize that throwing low sliders and curves and splitters with him on base is not such a good idea which should only help the hitter at the plate, no? --Hits a hard ground ball down the line with 1-2-1out, Delgado makes his best Konerko impersonation (KC series anyone?) by not even bending for the ball. Scored as a double, then inexplicably changed to an error (a 2B at the Cell), but whetever, the runner scores another makes 3rd, one out....A few batters later, Borchard hits an infield pop, but---lo and behold--Jose scores a SF...WTF? You should have seen that bastard Catalonato who thought he could get away with half-assing on the play...lol --On defensive side...first Jose jumps and takes away a would-be double....later he makes a great gundown play on fast Hudson (I think), saving an infield hit....few innings later, with 1-2-1out and Loaiza strugginling, he makes a great full-out dive catch up the middle, flipping the ball to Jimenez for a HUGE forceout. If the ball goes though, the run scores and a man would be on 3rd with 1 out with Delgado getting a chance to bat. Instead relieved Loaiza induces an inning ending groundball a batter later (which Jimenez f***ed up allowing the runner to score, but at least Delagado didn't come up and 3-2 is better than 3-5 or some such if Jose doesn't make the dive) --Oh yeah, I forgot about another walk...with Jose at first Olivo bunts, but instead of stopping at second Jose makes a brilliant move around it and takes for third while the pitcher releases the ball toward Delgado, who is distracted by Jose's bold move as he was motioning with one hand for someone to get over there...result? Big man misses an easy out and the ball goes through him, another error, runner at 1-3-no-out, everything in place for a HUGE inning....Eventually Manuel decides to send Olivo while Borchard is embroiled in a 8-pitch battle. Lidle throw a perfect high fastball to K JoBo all the while allowing the catcher to get up for it and throw to 2nd in one motion where he barely got Olivo who got a bad jump. Double play....good news is that 9 out of 10 Olivo is safe on the play like that and an even better news is that Sox are starting to play the very kind of small ball that brought them so much success in 2000....As far as Jose, Hawk yelling "I love it...Jose is the best I've ever seen at that" is pretty self-explanantory Basically Jose won another game using skills that will not show up in stats, so the only way to appreciate them is to watch games, something that I emphasize contantly...But then agin if all you go by are near-meaningless error totals (think about it: if he did make a routine, 2-out error last night and as per usual noone scored as a result, would it have overshadowed his huge contribution to a victory? No, unless it was Graffanino-big!) and even more meaningless batting average, then I am sure your mind is not changeable.
  15. And a radical point it was...shooting boybands in the barrel, niiiice. I like dancing to all sorts of music, "fruity" kind including...Are you going all passive-aggressive on me now?
  16. Yo, rafa, the best ball-dribbling skills I've ever seen belonged to Denilsen and George Vea. Ronaldo and Baggio weren't bad either. Maradona too. You?
  17. Duh, we all know you're more of a bumpagrind person anyway
  18. Both MJ and Justin T. have more (danceable music) talent and charisma in their left underdeveloped nut than those 3 wannabes combined. Can't touch my prerogative, so drop that zero and get wit da hero...my ass!
  19. It wasn't my point. Boy bands are responsible for MJ, Timberlake and Robbie Williams, all of who are fun to dance to. Lay off.
  20. Word. App 90% of everything either sucks or is mediocre, including classisical music and jazz. Such is life, deal with it.
  21. I can't stand Lars and have been known to dabble in eMule a bit myself...but, common, these are not little sample songs we are talking about- I know people who are dowloading music by 10000s of track that they otherwise would have to shell out money for. All that "fair use" and" public domain" and "music indu is already rich enough, it hurts noone" arguement crap is tenuous at best and horribly and patheticly self-entitled/dishonest at worst...I may have a certain healthy contempt for capitalist sharks like Tommy Mottola or NCync management team, but lets' get real about who it is comitting a crime (however mild) here, K? Get over yourself and your silly dogma for once and start being objective. This comes from an ex-elitist aesthete keep in mind ...THERE.IS.NOTHING.WRONG.WITH.OVERPRODUCED.GROOVY.CLUB.MUSIC. Stop hating on it, we kids just wanna have fun, old cranks like you should suck a nut. Not everything is (or should) be Mozart-Beatles and 90% of everything is crap as the saying goes, but so what? What makes you such a taste authority anyway? Rinse and repeat. What you mean you don't particularly care for "My orange vest is so punk RAWK, get a load of me! I drew some wicked tatts on today! Aren't I hardcore...Sex Pistols who??" poseur shtick? Mallcore McRatface will be disappointed.
  22. Bob The Death Pool Spoiler is 100 today...Does this mean he gets a b-day lapdance from Katie Hepburn? Living forever? Now that's what I call pure hell, I am suspicious of Heaven for that very reason....Nah, I hope to make it into my late 70's (provided I am not a vegetable, is not a burden to anyone and get to enjoy the spoils of my life and the high wisdom of old age.) At the end, to quote Smarm Maher, I'd rather have 60 Sammy Davis Hr years than 120 Kenneth Starr ones...Very true.
  23. Make a half-assed attempt to flirt...before yanking her ponytail/thong to save face would be my guess.
  24. Dude, you'r missing out on half the fun Squeezing? More like hookius fingerus...
