  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 08:02 AM) Yeah well when you strikeout as many guys as he strikes out and generally don't go that much over 100 pitches, he won't have many complete games. It's stupid anyway. Look at how many complete games Justin Verlander has. He has absolutely nothing to show for it other than starting a massive 6 year contract next season and looking like toast. this, leyland helped contribute to his downfall lol i used to say all the time why is he still pitching if theyre winning by more than 5 in the 8th/9th and he has 100+ pitches. but leyland/JV liked to make the numbers look nicer at the end of the day i guess. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 12:52 AM) Abreu has quickly changed from Miguel Cabrera at the plate, to Alfonso Soriano up there. Extremely dangerous in the zone, sprays line drives all over the field, but doesn't have a prayer on low breaking balls and is lazy at times. its fustrating how he has those great at bats lays off pitches but then especially at times with runners on, he swings and missed at 3 out of 4 pitches terribly like he has no clue up there. impatience ?
  2. Saw on Twitter, the rangers writer for espn passed away today , had two small children, he even tweeted today. Sad how you never know when your time can come
  3. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Jun 17, 2014 -> 09:10 PM) 8:45 A.M. Hoping it's to announce they're 5 or 6 million bucks poorer. Thanks for letting us know, will set my alarm lol
  4. 6ip 1r 10k against the blue jays for tanaka lol :/
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 11:37 PM) Did you have to write it in Spanish? Yea, I wrote it in Spanish
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 08:28 PM) It's not a surprise. Look at his last six weeks' worth of starts. He's just not getting enough swing and misses or strikeouts anymore, even though his fastball has been 93-95 and he's been able to dial it up to 96-97 in critical situations. Seems he's lost his confidence. Which is bound to happen when you were the best pitcher on the planet for five years and then all of a sudden the ball's not leaving your hand the same way but nothing feels physically wrong. 10-2, Royals piling it on. Up to Scherzer now to hold onto first place and stop the Royals' winning streak. He showed up on Thursday against Sale, would be shock if he didn't win again this time. Yet another compelling reason why he's going to get paid. im not surprised because i know he was doing awful, just wow because the contract he has and who saw that coming lol i expect him to rebound eventually though. max was struggling prior to his outing vs sale, interesting to see how he does vs the hot royals QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) Verlander has to be hurt because he has sucked this year. maybe has something to with him getting that groin surgery?
  7. 7 runs given up by verlander today wow lol
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 05:56 PM) The White Sox address? Yup , I sent a note saying I was a big fan of his etc and he even wrote on the same note that thanks for being his fan and he signed it too
  9. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 16, 2014 -> 01:34 PM) If Tanaka wins 23 and his ERA is almost below 2 (2.02), he will win the Cy Young and ROY. good game tomarrow, he gets the blue jays
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 09:24 AM) Actually picked it up for free! mine was free too, i just sent it to abreu in the mail haha how did you get it for free??
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 07:58 PM) The Heat couldn't keep up the defensive intensity they started the game with all game, that's just not possible. This, needed to get tired as you said, can't physically keep up that pace and Lebron getting no help lol
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 07:25 PM) Lebron is on a mission tonight Yea I don't think he's letting the heat lose lol , atleast even after all that in the first , only 7 point lead
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) Nieto. Phegley. Smith. And there is literally nothing in free agency for next year: John Buck (34) Ryan Doumit (34) Nick Hundley (31) – $5MM club option Gerald Laird (35) Russell Martin (32) Jeff Mathis (32) – $1.5MM club option Wil Nieves (36) Miguel Olivo (36) A.J. Pierzynski (38) David Ross (38) Geovany Soto (32) Kurt Suzuki (31) i think martin and suzuki are great options depending on the deal. theyre solid defensivly and hit a little.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 15, 2014 -> 12:01 AM) So...buy super low on Grandal? Well he is Cuban lol
  15. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 09:53 PM) When he was hitting .379 I set the ASB over/under on his batting average at .252, it seems like he'll drop way below that. I really think the org loves him though, wouldn't be surprised if he's the back up next year. yea, my nephew is the bat boy, says hes probably the hardest working player on the team, does tons of hitting in the cage and great guy. hes awful though lol
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 04:19 PM) Agreed, you look on the field and see a lot of mediocre players. Good thing is the best players on the team are those that will be part of the future. I really hope they can trade Viciedo, just don't see what he does for this team
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 04:18 PM) Thoughts? Even when he started great, I never bought in to it. I think we all knew/know what he is
  18. how about suzuki or martin at catcher next year?
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 12:08 PM) I will never understand why a US citizen would root for Mexico over the US. this. im part mexican(because my dad is from there) and live in a predominantly mexican neighborhood(east side chicago) and thats why i dont even root for mexico. pi**es me off that mexicns that live here "hate" the US team(trust me , plenty do) but its like ok , you live here. and why? because its a beetter/easier life than mexico lol not saying you have to cheer for them but it sounds idiotic when your rooting against them. end rant/lol
  20. Great so I go to mlb. Com and the thing I see is Scherzer outduels sale lol anyways, seriously braves? Baseball police video
  21. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 09:04 PM) Where's J4L to remind us how easily the Heat were gonna roll the Spurs. Every offesnsive possession by the Heat looks forced and sloppy while the Spurs are getting clean looks. and greg loving this game
  22. im kind of torn between the two because i always think a player that plays everyday has more value than a pitcher playing once a week(just my opinion, for example i rather have trout than kershaw) but at the same time tanaka hasnt struggled at all while abreu has and got hurt. if i were to guess, id say tanaka too
  23. who do you guys think will end up winning the roy? neither will end up with these numbers imo, but espn has them on pace for: abreu:.270/47/123 tanaka:25-3 2.02
  24. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 11:10 AM) I picked up a Jose Abreu authentic bat that he signed courtesy of the Chicago White Sox. A worthy add to the collection. im sure that wasnt cheap lol got my sports illustarted magazine signed, great guy
  25. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 07:29 PM) Good I hope Danks pitches great for a trade (wishful thinking) me too. sure, hed make a great 5th starter on this team(assuming we sign a rhp) but im in the "we have too many lefties" camp
