QUOTE(JimH @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) beck72's post said 15 errors total in 2004. 15 errors in 114 games in the field ... 56 at SS, 55 at 2B, 3 in the outfield. is that supposed to be good or bad? anyways, if ozzie wants a pretty good fielder then he should take valdez, if he wants someone that will actully give him something off the bench and is a ok fielder, then ozuna. valdez would be no good at coming off the bench or driving in runs.
-
valdez will never hit enough...i say ozuna, since he can play 3 positions..did you's say he commited 15 errors in 55 games? thats a lot...

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) Dudet, I agree with you but everyone here wants to keep Frank around, and Pauly.. IMO I wanted to trade Pauly and have them made a run at Delgado.. but that is just me. yea, i want frank to stay and hit #500 with the sox, but he just isnt worth 10 mil a yr and if its between PK(28) and frank (34-36?) i rather have PK, who is the face of this team now
-
why would yous rather have frank than paulie? thats crazy. frank is in the downside of his career, constantly getting injured. frank is not worth 10 mil a yr. i rather have paulie for 3 more yrs. ozzie and kw really like Pk im sure they rather have him than frank. the sox would love to get rid of frank and his baggage. PK isnt going no where. what would we do if he left? have ross play their? all the quality 1st basemen are either not available until a few yrs, or too expensive. id be mad if we didnt keep him. id say 3 yrs 30 mil or so, maybe 9 mil a yr
-
yup, iguchi looks great in a sox uni. even if willie does good, hes gone, we can get more for him.

QUOTE(R.J. @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) ...did they provide us with any multicolored pie charts or bar graphs with our chances? ..riiiiggggghhhhht >who exactly is our ace...Mark or Freddy?
-
i was reading the usa today sports weekly, found some interesting stuff in their 1) They said that freddy was our ace(i thought it was mark ) 2)Mark and Freddy will be held under 200 ip(isnt that a little?, mark pitched atleast 220 the last few years plus led the league last season.) 3)that because we got Tad, willies value goes down what i dont get is that they said the sox have really changed our team and have perhaps one of the best pitching staffs in the league, also one of the best bullpens in the league. plus the sox have a really fast team and good defense....then why are we predicted to finish as low as 4th? just wonderg what yous thoght and if yous read it...oh the sox were on the front cover..

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6841776/ Key excerpts: 90-72..seems realistic..i understand why willie could be delt, he doesnt fit into their plans..we really need a right handed ut/ss -
i thought we had to keep him on the 25 man roster or not offer him back to the angels.. or is he officially with the sox?
-
as of now, it apperas as if maggs will get booed big time at the cell.....i really hope so..it would piss me off so much if he got cheered...

QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Dye has done nothing to deserve the 3 spot with the WSox id have Paulie before Dye Paulies too slow. Dp's would be just waitning to happen.JD has done nothing to deserve it? '99-.294,27,119 '00-.321,33,118 '01-.282,26,106 supposably "bad yrs": '02-.252,23,86 '04-.265,23,80(137 games) as you can see, when healthy JD is great. as of now he is healthy so hes our #3 hitter. wow! a-row had one good yr!

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) That guy doesn't even know where Hermanson last pitched... Why would I beleive anything else he had to say? jeez, they made a mistake..he did pitch for the cards, just not last yr. >oh, what a dumb question:sammy or tejada, the clubhouse leader.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Gene doesn't like Timo, it's a gag. ok..i was wondering...i dont see how timo can be someones fave sox..
-
Some analysts think Herm can unseat him for the 5th spot. It's Garland's spot to lose for sure. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/spring/turfwars
-
Hi, I'm Gene Honda Civic. I'm Timo's daddy. You can call me Mr. Perez if you'd like... is timo really your fave sox? ------
-
contreras was TERRIBLE in sept. until he can learn to use all his pitches, hes number 4. although i have more faith in garland than jose.

QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) The Tiggers got Farnsworth,Man guys i hate too say this but there getting kinda of scary,I-ROD,Maggs,Gullen,Troy Persaval(sorry its spelled wrong),Urbina, now Farns and a young pitching staff. Bonderman is their ace (look at his stats) farnsworth has no movement on his pitches, Percival has a bum arm, maggs has a bum knee. detroit and Maggs.... :fyou

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) Can you name the last leadoff hitter that drove in 95 runs? aaron didnt bat leadoff the whole yr...jhonny damon as the FULLTIME leadoff hitter drove in 94 runs, in 150 games. alfonso soriano did it for the yankees in 02 (100= rbi)

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) .269/.337/.446 >> .262/.343/.323 Iggy would more than make up for the half of a percentage point difference in OBP, by hitting half a percentage point higher, while hitting the ball ALOT farter. whatever....im just glad willie isnt the opening day 2b. the sox brass has said willie will compete for the job...Bs. harris isnt even making a million dollars tad is making 2+ Willie... :finger
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:03 PM) High OBP, High batting average, Good Speed, Good Power. He's a perfect number 3 hitter. he wasnt able to do the simplier things like getting the guys in from third with less than two outs. lets not get ahead of ourselves. wait until he drives in atleast 95 runs
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) :banghead .446 i was talking about .337 because that is whats being predicted for this yr. i know that wasnt his obp last yr
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Dye will definitely be batting 3rd but I think it should be Aaron's spot until Frank is back. why should rowand bat third? he hasnt deserved it yet. he had one good yr. we have to wait. hes usually always started out slow. i say we go with dye then see what happens.
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) I guess it's just me, but I don't like having a guy who put up averages of .252, .172, and .262 the last three years in the #3 spot... Doing so becasue he was the big FA acqusition or that's the spot in the order that the player he is replacing occupied, would be dumb. i think JD will have a good yr playing at the cell. he should bat no lower than 270 assuming hes healthy. Ozzie was the one that said JD will bat third...his numbers werent that bad last yr...he just needs to stay healthy. i think he was a bargain.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) JMHO, but .269/.337 would be the bottom of the spectrum for Iguchi (if it's true that he switched his stance two years back, improving his AVG/OBP). IIRC, the only correlation (and it's a reach, cause it's such a small sample size) is that BA and OBP go down about .030 percentage points each -- so if you used that correlation to his two past years in Japan, wouldn't he still be about a .300/.380 guy? Personally, I'm predicting right around a .280 AVG/.350 OBP, with 15 homers. i hope your right. although i could live with .269/.337 i would prefer 280 or so. .269/.337 is a down grade from what willie did last yr.
