  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) I wouldn't even consider Honel a prospect anymore. i agree, i dont know if u's saw him yeasterday but he was so bad...i was like who the hell is this crappy ass pitcher. >Jeez, i think bmac will pan out to, but everyones raving about him, saying how good hes pitched.....he only pitched in 5.1 innings- in spring training!
  2. Theres no need to skip school or work....there will be a replay at 7:00 on comcast.... Arnie Munoz is pitching? :banghead go Buehrle,
  3. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) It's ok to dream as a fan of the Pale Hose right? Well I was just thinking what this team could look like in 06. Rotation 06: Buehrle, Garcia, Hernandez, Vazquez, BMC Rotation 07: Buerhle, Garcia, Vazquez, BMC, Honel Both rotations could be ranked as the best in the AL both years. The 07 Rotation will cost no more than 35M which will leave 45M for the field & the pen. I fully expect the Sox to have a mid-80's payroll in 07 coming off one of two divisional crowns. Field 07: Fields at 3B, Uribe at SS, Igs at 2B, Gload/? 1B, AJP at C, ARow at CF, Sweeney at LF, Anderson at RF Pen 07: Shingo, Marte, Hermanson, Vizcaino, + 3 more Wow! We could be favored to win the Series in 2007! What about Pods and Paulie? Honel looked TERRIBLE yesterday.
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) He uses all his pitches he just tips them off and falls in love with his splitter way too much. when he gets into trouble, he just uses his splitter, the hitters know it, which is why he walkis so many guys. Brandon McCarthy i dont care how much exp. bmac has, i would prefer him over contreras, he actually has confidence in his stuff. he didnt have his best stuff against texz, yet he gave up one hit. >ozzie said contreras pitched good today :headshake
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) So I guess Perez just had to "settle" for that 3 year, $24 million deal. As for the payroll, KW said he had to go to JR and Co. twice about raising the payroll for Iguchi, and now Reinsdorf said there will be money to spend at the break. KW is not sitting on a pile of cash right now. odalis had an era under 3.50, hey thats what JR said when he was on 670 the score, that they still have money to spend.. :banghead >if contreras would just use ALL his pitches, he would be very good. when he pitched the last game of the season vs. kc and gave up no runs, he used all his pitches.
  6. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) That still wouldn't have been enough and it would have required more cash committent to both of those NL pitchers. Did Odalis want to leave LA? Could the Sox possibly outbid the Red Cubs for Clement with that $6 million? Would El Duque have signed with the Sox if Contreras wasn't here (which would mean the Sox would still only have 4 starting pitchers?) we could have gotten one of these pitchers. perez just didnt get any good offers which is why he stayed..contreras is getting like 6-8 mil, plus we still have money left to spend, kenny is saving it in case we need it in the middle of the season(according to JR) contreras is a joke :puke
  7. i dont know what the sox were thinking when they acquired contreras, hes terrible. he has the best arm on our team, but aparently he doesnt know how to use it. whats he making? 6+ million? what a waste, we could have used the cash to get clement, perez, etc.
  8. carmen was on chicago tribune live yesterday
  9. ozzie said willie played pretty good at short...a.j. has been awesome(hopefully we can resign him)...the players have been great, they all want to play a lot....said marte looked awesome, he said he was excited by the way he pitched...vizcaino has great stuff, he wont hesitate to put him in the closers spot if shingo falters...it apperas as it mine rain, hopefully they will play some baseball
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) Adkins again? Either we are showcasing him or really letting him prove himself. bruce said the sox really want to see what he can do...they dont know wether or not to stretch him out to make him a starter or keep him as a reliever...ozzie really likes him. like i said talking bsaeball is airing and ozzie will be on shortly, im sure they will talk about adkins. hes on now
  11. Jon Adins vs. Javier Vazquez espn radio 1000 talking baseball is currently airing on espn radio 1000, ozzie will be on the show shortly
  12. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 4, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Pods had 2 triples. thats awesome..Pod's 7/8 this spring. im really excited about him. i know its only spring but still, he seems to have a great mindset on what he wants to do. i think if he carries this into the season and has a good year, sox fans will feel better about this deal. when was the last time we had a true leadoff man, someone who could steal 50+ bases?
  13. did anyone hear Pods on mac jurko and harry yesterday? he seems like a great guy, a team 1st type guy, Ozzies kind of player. they called him Podzilla Mac jurko and harry had a song for pods, it was like 10 seconds, but it was funny.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) There's not really a fit here at all. Plus Helms is a Ned Yost favorite, so it's unlikely he'll sanction a move. I still want Cintron. 28 rbi...how the hell is he yosts fave? i would love cintron..i think he would excell under guillen like uribe. how about harris and diaz for cintron..
  15. possible back up infielders:marco scutaro(oak) Alex Cintron(ari) Hector Luna(StL) Placido Ploanco(Phi) thats about all i can think of and im sure we would probably have to give up willie and someone else for one of these guys.
  16. can Wes play 2b and 3b? if so the sox should do it. ive never been a fan of Willie
  17. i dont really look at the wins and losses record. i just care about what the sox regulars do. i know its just spring training but a-row needs to be better with a man on 3rd less than 2 outs, he wasnt to good at that last yr. Ozzie's probably pissed right now so what exactly were Pod's' numbers today?
  18. just reported now..scott on mac jurko harry show later great game scotty felix diaz...
  19. vizcaino, only sox pitcher to retire the rox 1-2-3.. :banghead valdez sucks :finger
  20. oh yea, one more thing..... maggs says they have the best team. last time i checked, pitching wins ballgames: Maroth>4.31 era,11-13 Buehrle>3.89,16-10 Bonderman>4.89, 11-13 Garcia>3.81,13-11 Robertson>4.90,12-10 Duque>3.30,8-2 johnson>5.13,8-15 Garland>4.89,12-11 no fifth starter as of yet Contreras>5.50,13-9 >they pitch in a big-time pitchers park and look at their numbers, only one pitcher had a winning record. look at our pitchers stats, they pitch at the cell. case closed.
  21. QUOTE(Yoda @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) This is starting to look like the Sammy vs. Dusty fracas. Just ignore Maggs... he’s just starving for attention. Kenny just better keep his mouth shut, he has the tendency to respond to almost everything. yea. maggs really wants to prove the sox wrong. marriotti wrote a very interesting article about maggs. see, i try to ignore maggs' comments, but its hard because of the things he says, such as he believes the tigers, THE DETROIT TIGERS, have the BEST team in the division, that he hopes to be a sox killer, thatit wasnt about money, that he doesnt belive in the sox's philosophy of pitching, speed and defense. well they never won with him and carlos and jose. i like the way ozzie handeled the situation though, like ozzie said well see who wins it at the end. i hope he screws up his leg >i cant wait till the sox are playing the tigers at the cell and dye hits a hr to rightfiled for a walk off victory so that maggs has to walk off the field and see the sox celebrating >i hope maggs gets booed, he does not deserved to get cheered.
  22. TUCSON -- Ozzie Guillen issued his final comment about Magglio Ordonez on Sunday afternoon. At least, Guillen hopes it's the final time he's addressing matters concerning the former White Sox right fielder until regular-season contests with the Tigers begin in April. In a Chicago Sun-Times article running in Sunday's edition, Ordonez once again questioned general manager Kenny Williams' comments regarding his injured left knee, stating that the team "made things sound worse than they were." Ordonez also directed a shot at White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf by saying he's now playing for an owner in Mike Illitch who wants to win. This critique followed Ordonez's less-than-complimentary comments about the White Sox when he signed a five-year, $75 million deal with Detroit in early February. Guillen's message to Ordonez then was to focus on his new team and stop worrying about the White Sox. When you get a $100 million contract from any team, I would care less about what the team I was playing for is doing," Guillen said. "To keep going back and forth, it's not worth talking about him anymore. "I don't know his point. He wants to make Kenny and Jerry and the White Sox organization look bad, but he won't do it. He said that we are not willing (to make the commitment) to win. We will see at the end of the year." Ordonez claimed during the interview at Detroit's Spring Training in Lakeland, Fla., that the final decision to return with the White Sox was "not all about money," despite the team offering $60 million over five years, with further money deferred. He claimed to "not be happy with some of the things going on" and further criticized the team's move away from a power-based attack in a home field that seems suited for home run hitters. With the Ordonez soap opera, as Guillen referred to it, now volleyed into the White Sox's home court, the team chose not to return serve. In fact, most of the comments were focused on Ordonez's supreme ability and not on the acrimonious ending to his relationship in Chicago. "I'm good friends with the family, and Magglio is a tremendous ballplayer," Guillen said of Ordonez. "I hope he stays healthy and helps those guys get what they want to get and just worry about the White Sox when we face them." "He's the best all-around player I played with, period," added White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko of Ordonez. "I'm going to miss watching him because he was something special." Whatever the final reasons, the White Sox have clearly moved on. They are hoping Ordonez does the same soon. "It's kind of one of those things where business meets the baseball end," Konerko said. "It's kind of a shame it happens now and again." "I wish him good look in spending his money the right way," Guillen added. "You are a professional, and if you walk away and get money somewhere else, then God bless you and enjoy. They put a great team together over there, but by talking about the White Sox, it means you are not worried about your own team. You go around here and nobody even talks about him." just wondering what yous thought about ozzies comments..seems like hes real upset about maggs and hes getting sick of him and his comments.
  23. i heard that radke will be the opening day starter and lohse will pitch the home opener.
  24. Minnesota had the best offseason? wow! they signed redmond..a backup catcher.....castro...a backup IF...they lost guzman and koskie...the only good move was re-signig radke and santana. :banghead but like everyone from the sox have said..its better to be the underdog (does anyone know when the next bbtn show is airing?) Minnesota.. :fyou
