  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 14, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) Abreu has sucked on defense all year he is a DH only at best. Re-sign Morneau and trade Abreu.
  2. Morneau is so good. I wish the Sox could keep him.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 11, 2016 -> 04:04 PM) [/b] Better yet, Trump...because he already has a beef with the Ricketts family and Ivanka would take KW's place. At least that would be interesting. Trump Field would increase the value of the stadium and real estate in the surrounding neighborhood, until a North Korean cruise missile was launched in that direction. I'd like to see Trump buy the Sox because he would build a new stadium and get the Cubs to pay for it.
  4. Why would any good starting pitcher want to pitch for the White Sox?
  5. I'd bring back Morneau in a heartbeat. The question is, Would he want to come back and play for the White Sox?
  6. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 06:34 PM) 0 World Series. Sox made it to one ('59) World Series. In those days only one team from each league made the "playoffs."
  7. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 05:09 PM) Basically, better than the 30 years prior to his group buying the team. QUOTE (captain54 @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) Basically BS. Look up the Sox record from 1951-1981. 16 straight winning seasons from 1951-67. Winning seasons in 72 and 77. On the way to 4 straight losing seasons with 2016. 2 of those stretches during the JR regime. Prior to that 68-77, 4 straight losing. You have to go back then to the end of WW II to find another bad stretch Thank you.
  8. I would pencil Abreu in as DH and try to find a good 1B man.
  9. Called fair but they still got screwed by umps on field. Would've scored a couple if the ump called it right in the first place.
  10. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) What are they challenging? Potential home run? Stuck watching Paw Patrol with the kid. Ball hit chalk line, Ump called it foul.
  11. That was a fair ball. Watch the Sox get screwed again.
  12. Why is it that the umps always seem to oblige the opposing managers but refuse to review when the Sox request? It's like they have no respect for Ventura.
  13. f*** the umpire. Robin should be giving him hell.
  14. Bench Navarro and send down Kahnle after the game tonight.
  15. Score three here and say goodnight.
  16. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) Absurdly bad. Meanwhile Yency Almonte leads MiLB in strikeouts. Another lost trade for Rick Hahn. Hahn has to be the worst GM the Sox ever had.
  17. Out of all the crappy relievers the Sox have had this season, Kahnle is the worst.
  18. What's Robin going to do about Navarro? Nothing?
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Avi for CF 2017 Actually with Tilson out and Austin Jackson apparently not coming back soon I would just start Avi in CF every game from here on out. Keep Eaton in RF where he excels and see how Avi does in center. I've heard some people claim that center field is actually easier to play for a lot of outfielders that struggle in the corners as long as they have the speed to cover the ground from gap to gap. Avi certainly struggles in RF and one thing he does have is speed. What could it hurt? At this point what's the difference if he's a butcher in RF or in CF?
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) Interestingting http://southside.locals.baseballprospectus...ar-it-all-down/ Meanwhile, again in stark contrast, the White Sox continue to surround their core with few talented players and, unfortunately, a large number of black holes. The White Sox operate as a team with no margin for error, but any reasonable organization would understand there’s inevitably going to be something that goes wrong for your team (apparently the year 2005 was an exception). Because the White Sox operate this way, they can’t afford things like losing Austin Jackson and Alex Avila for extended periods of time. That’s insane, especially when you consider that most contending organizations wouldn’t even employ these guys as starters to begin with. The White Sox shouldn’t need to rebuild right now, instead they need to actually attempt to put good players around their already excellent core. I agree with this. The Sox always seem to half ass everything. They can win with this core but it's going to take JR getting out the checkbook and outbidding everyone for a some bona fide star players and taking on some big contracts of good players from other teams. If JR would up the team payroll to over $170M next year, and bring in a new coaching staff, the Sox could be competitive. That's the position he and his front office put this organization in. If he's not willing to spend that kind of money then they will have to risk trading Sale for a bunch of near ready prospects and hope most of them make it.
