  1. He had a certain swagger and a flair to everything he did even small things like the way he would adjust his batting gloves, or that little flip of the mitt when he would catch a ball at first base. The man was just naturally cool.
  2. Happy that Dick Allen got the recognition he deserved many years ago by finally being voted into the HOF. Too bad Tommy John didn't get voted in as well. He is also deserving of the honor.
  3. Dick Allen was not only a great hitter, but a great baserunner, an excellent defensive first baseman, and one of the smartest ballplayers ever.
  4. Should have been inducted a long time ago. Dick Allen, a great ballplayer and most exciting White Sox player of all time.
  5. They would have beaten out the A's with a healthy Bill Melton batting behind Dick Allen.
  6. I'm in my mid 60s now and don't really get excited over sports figures or athletes anymore. But when I see clips of Dick Allen, it brings back that same thrill as when I was a kid. He was my baseball hero, and to me he will always be the greatest White Sox player of all time. Dick Allen belongs in the Hall of Fame.
  7. Sad to hear about Bill Melton. If only he didn't fall off that ladder the Sox would have probably won the pennant in '72, and he probably would have gone on to have a greater career as a good defensive slugging third baseman. I remember one day I went to a Sox game and it was so hot the third baseman was Melton. RIP Bill, you will be missed.
  8. Dick Allen belongs in the Hall of Fame.
  9. White Sox traded Tommy John and Steve Huntz for Dick Allen.
  10. Too bad we don't have Roland Hemond running things and making trades. Is there a Dick Allen on our horizon?
  11. I hope Musk buys the White Sox and moves them to Mars.
  12. You referring to the "young championship core?" They never did "flip that switch."
  13. Two fans jumping onto the outfield and another one throwing something at the Cubs outfielder.
  14. Wasn't he part of their young championship core? ?
  15. I'd be happy if he leaves and they hire A.J Pierzynski to take his place. Maybe I'd start watching some games again.

  17. Young. Championship. Core.
  18. Just sweep the Cubs. I don't care if they lose all of their other games this season. Just sweep the Cubs.
  19. Harry and Jimmy were the best ever. And on top of that, every now and then they would be joined by Dizzy Dean or Satchel Paige in the booth! Almost too good to be true. Those days are long gone and baseball telecasts will never be as entertaining again.
  20. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Take C.B. Bucknor and Laz Diaz with you!
  21. Well, he's been hurt. Even so, he still has 15 RBI and is better than most players on the Sox.
  22. Sox finally do a rundown correctly.
