  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 29, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) What does your gut tell you? Mine tells me I'm hungry.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:34 PM) Coaches can't make up for the poor talent on the field no matter how good they are. The GM put great talent on the field and there's no way anyone can question the job this GM did putting this team together. How is that unclear to you?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) How can a team that has so few offensive threats also be so bad on defense? It's a lineup with 5 guys who could be number 9 hitters. I don't see how firing a coach fixes that this year. Just a bad team Rick Hahn has certainly put together an impressive array of talent.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) I hate this defense What defense?
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 28, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) It's time to make Gordon Beckham the starting second baseman. Case closed. Sox can't afford to have zero chance of a hit out of its second basemen! This should be a NO BRAINER! Been there, done that. I like Gordon as a utility infielder. He's been doing well in that role - keep him in it.
  6. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 28, 2015 -> 11:57 AM) Joe Torre was a well below .500 manager for his first 3 jobs and about 14 years in the MLB. Bobby Cox was a well below .500 mangaer for his first 6 years in the MLB. In 2012, the Sox weren't in a position to hire a manager that would take 6 to 14 years to become a good manager. Back when they hired LaRussa, they were an organization that wasn't going anywhere and gave him a shot after he managed a couple of years in the minor leagues. He became a good manager after a few years, and teams that hired him after the Sox got themselves an established manager. The Sox hired Ventura without having any previous managing or even coaching experience. Sure, it's possible he may become a good manager after 6 - 14 years but can the Sox afford to find out? Rather than trying to develop a manager they should have tried to hire a manager that was ready.
  7. Stupid baserunning by Beckham.
  8. It's been a real pleasure listening to a professional announcer doing Sox telecasts.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) If they do rebuild, do you trust this front office to find and develop players? No way. And that's the biggest problem.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) It will be interesting to see what moves are made by the time this road trip ends There will be no significant moves.
  11. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) Despite the game's results thus far, Steve Stone has been particularly good tonight. Everyone is better without Hawk.
  12. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) And who granted that contract extension? Jerry Reinsdorf. The manager and coaches are just the symptoms, gents. The problem lies at the top. Yep.
  13. QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) Another pop out. I'm all for steverson getting s***canned too The whole organization should be canned.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 25, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) Then JR deserves 5000 fans a night! He doesn't deserve that much at the prices he charges for tickets, unless they're all in the $7.00 seats.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 25, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) If this road trip is a disaster I cannot see any reason for Ventura to survive. Jerry Reinsdorf is the reason.
  16. Hahn and Ventura should be fired tonight. But they will be here for years to come.
  17. Sometimes you just have to laugh.
