QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 12, 2012 -> 09:40 PM) It now seems 75% of the team's improvement was just NOT having Ozzie around, but he hasn't been a good in-game manager the entire second half. In fact, he's getting measurably worse by the week. This. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) Still want to know where that 3-2 pitch to Butler was? Looked like a strike to me. But this loss is on Ventura and Olmedo. -
Santiagos's Screwball vs Guthrie's AL Rebirth
South Side Fireworks Man replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2012 Season in Review
Game summary: Olmedo is a bum and Ventura is a dummy. Now the Sox and Tigers get to play each other to see which one gets to lose the first round of the playoffs. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) Not only that, but the conditions had changed from sunshine to overcast/dreary there...probably better to have left Dayan in, all things considered. I agree.

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) Today was the lights clearly but, it seems like he has had some bad moments when he plays LF. Is he just better off playing CF only if they are going to use him in a reserve role? Absolutely. I just posted the same thought in the game thread. He has played left field poorly with the Sox this season. Maybe he's just not used to playing left field. Hawk hypes him as "the best defensive outfielder in the organization" but if that's true, it must be in centerfield but certainly not left. At this point in their careers, he's actually a defensive downgrade from Viciedo in left field.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 06:00 PM) WTF If Danks catches the ball we are not even talking about this................the extra pitches on a tired arm is the killer element in this situation today! I know according to Hawk, Danks is the "best defensive outfielder in the organization" and I don't know, maybe he is a good defensive centerfielder, but from what he's shown he is not a very good defensive left fielder. At this point in time, replacing Viciedo with him is actually a defensive downgrade.

QUOTE (sunofgold @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) matchup. Chen is the starter for KC and is lefty. DeAza also bats lefty. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) Last I checked, Wise is lefty too QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Shut up!!! JUST SHUT UP!!!! LOL!

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) Wise - 8 Ramirez - 6 Viciedo - 7 Konerko - 3 Rios - 9 AJ - DH Flowers - 2 Olmedo - 5 Beckham - 4 Only change I really would have liked to seen is Lopez playing against the LHP, as Olmedo struggles against LHP Why isn't De Aza playing?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 06:57 PM) In the midst of the false accusations, I think now is as good a time as any to have a nice AJ appreciation thread. AJ has been an above average player for this club for a long time and he's having a hell of a year in what has been one of the funnest seasons to date that I can remember. AJ helped bring this club its 1st championship in a long time and here's to hoping he helps bring a 2nd world series championship to Chicago this year!!!! AJ is one of the main reasons for the 2005 championship and for much of the success the Sox have had since. He certainly has provided many memorable moments, big hits and heads up play. AJ has been one of the most durable players around despite the fact that he plays one of the most physically demanding positions. I certainly hope AJ finishes his playing career with the White Sox and then stays on with the organization either as a broadcaster or a coach if he so desires.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) Playing the Royals. Frankie-free pass pitching. Another spot starter on Sunday. No Dunn. No Youk. Seriously, Sox could fall out of 1st very easily. Or they could sweep the lowly Royals while the Angels sweep the Tigers in California. Or something in between. It would be pretty cool for the Sox to go into the four game series with Detroit Monday with a four game lead. -

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) Great now that this is over it's time to grab the pitchforks & take out the bulls***ter. Funny this came from WSI. Controversial opinion? Ban. Fart in the presence of a lady? Ban. Run your little yapper about one of the greatest catchers & one of the most influential players in Sox history? Welcome aboard! It is ironic that they didn't even give the poster their normal "one week vacation" as they do to so many others over there. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 06:32 AM) Considering the origin of this entire thread was from what someone heard from a friend who works at the Score and now the Score says it's false, I would think any more speculation is moot. I question the motive of the person on WSI who originally posted this. If, as he claimed, he got the rumor from "a friend who works at WSCR" and the station didn't deem it worthy to report it, then it wasn't meant to be revealed to the public. Why would someone who claims to be a Sox fan rush to report an unsubstantiated rumor that would cast a negative light on the team, cause a big distraction and personally hurt one of the team's best players during a pennant race? And WSI didn't even ban the guy for even a week for doing it. It really makes them look bad, especially since they are known for banning and censoring posters for holding the "wrong view" or not being PC in the way they express their views. WSI's credibility took a big hit by being the source of this bulls*** rumor. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 06:59 PM) I'd be more shocked if he wasn't on something. Or maybe he's just lucky to be having a career year at 35 during a contract season. Konerko was having a career year this season before he was beaned, hurt his wrist, and elbowed in the head. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 06:49 PM) Say they were to have a press conference tomorrow at the Cell (I know they're not typically announced at a press conference, but it doesn't mean KW can't hold one). If there was a press conference, maybe it's workers there trying to connect the dots?? Could be. But I'm sure at least some people who work at the Cell read either this board, WSI or both. So it's no surprise that this rumor would be "swirling" around the ballpark after all the posts on the two message boards today. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) I know guys that work at the ballpark. The rumors are more than swirling at this point there. I never said it was a fact, just what i heard from them. I'm sure the rumors are swirling around the ballpark after they've been posted on the two biggest Sox related message boards all day.
