  1. QUOTE(heirdog @ Jul 24, 2007 -> 02:30 PM) Replace Murton with Pie and you have a deal...or we can just take the 2 draft picks Now I'd do that in a heartbeat.
  2. Would I do it? Hell no!
  3. Willie was a good hitter throughout his minor league years, so this comes as no surprise.
  4. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 01:21 AM) Yes 6 for 6 with 6 rbi u heard me right . Take that, all you Willie Harris bashers!
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) Two double headers in the next month lead me to believe haegar is here for a while regardless of results. He is an ideal spot starter and long releiver as he can do both during a double header and does not need to be shut down for a couple of days. Maybe he'll be another Wilbur Wood and start both games of a double-header.
  6. I'm looking forward to see Haegar pitch for the Sox. I was a big supporter of him and was pulling for him to make the team out of Spring Training. I was very disappointed and a little baffled when I saw how poorly he was doing in AAA this season. Hopefully he has turned it around for good and I hope he has a very long and productive future in the majors. I just hope A.J. is ready for him! Thanks to the guys with the "inside" scoop. To think, if I would have believed the initial post about Haeger's return I could have taken the info and posted it on WSI giving me instant credibility as an "insider!"
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) Wow, Chuck was not one of the names I expected that would come up here... I think they like the fact he could relieve or go long innings to save the pen. Hopefully he isn't as amped up as the last time we got here and he doesn't overthrow the knuckler again. Where is all this talk about Haeger being called up coming from? It was only posted by a couple of posters here with single digit post totals and nowhere else that I can find.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 07:21 PM) Haeger's probably just being called up to pitch out of the pen. The rotation will be Garland, Buehrle, Vazquez, Contreras, Danks. No trades will be made. I'm almost positive this is the case. Has Haeger's callup been confirmed yet? I can't find anything on it.
  9. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 09:08 AM) I hope he does come back. He might not be as good as his All-Star season, but guess what, he's a solid ball player who is overrated by some, and vastly underrated by his bashers. Should come relatively cheaply and solve our CF situation for 5 seasons. Yes.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 10:56 PM) He'll be with the White Sox next year. Good.
  11. Take that, all you whiners and know-it-alls who were calling for KW's head over a bunch of unsubstantiated reports from unnamed sources. Maybe you'll learn your lesson and give KW the benefit of the doubt next time until anything official is announced.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 05:14 PM) It absolutely will be Jose Contreras (he's the first to go, imo, and than as the deadline approaches either Buehrle goes or one of Jon/Javier goes if he gets an amazing offer, otherwise Kenny holds off till the off-season to move the 2nd pitcher). Kenny is going to have a harder time trading Jose after his 86-88mph fastballs last night. The Sox may do well if they can straighten his mechanics out over the next couple of weeks and he can have a couple of strong outings before the deadline.
  13. If Paulie were a horse he'd be in the glue factory by now--along with Thome and Dye.
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) You play the season to make the playoffs and to win the world series. The only difference between the 90 win that misses out of the playoffs and the 56 win team is a draft position. I want them to win because I am a fan. Rebuilding teams worry about momentum going into the next season. Championship teams, will look at this year as a blip in the radar, and will try to come out proving that the critics are wrong. It's much easier for a 90 win team to attract quality free agents than it is for a 56 win team to do so.
  15. Tonight's Lineup Gonzo, LF; Iguchi, 2B; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; AJ, C; Dye, RF; Fields, 3B; Terrero, CF; Uribe, SS. Buehrle pitching. Expect Scott P to head to the DL tomorrow with Jerry Owens taking his place. That song and dance is getting old.
  16. Zambrano is young and he's been a horse. Any team would love to have him in their rotation. Some team will pay big bucks to have him.
