  1. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) Question. Can you put Anderson in RF, then pinch hit Thome for Danks, then replace Danks with a RP after the at-bat? Yes.
  2. There was no good reason either Konerko or Ozuna was not the DH tonight instead of Anderson. Now we have two infielders playing outfield. Ozzie put the team in a bad spot tonight, and KW should call him on it.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) Looks like Mackowiak hyperextended his knee. Looked to me like he rolled his ankle.
  4. Ozzie should have to answer to KW after this game tonight for his misuse of available personnel.
  5. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) "Right now, I think Erstad is playing the best center field in the league," Guillen said. "If you look at the games, the balls in the gap he chases, he has been great. Our defense is better with him playing center field right now. In right field, I want [Rob] Mackowiak to stay there. If I lose Mackowiak, I can't switch one of those guys during the game. It's easy for me to make a change when Mackowiak's on the field But why not BA in LF and Ozuna at DH?
  6. QUOTE(Damen @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) Wow. So here's an obvious question...why not put Anderson in the field? If we're stuck into having Ozuna, Anderson, Erstad, and Mack all starting, why don't we DH Ozuna, since he's by far the biggest liability in the OF. Anderson in Center, Erstad in Left, Mack in Right? What's the problem with that? It makes too much sense? Because, unfortunately, Ozzie makes the f***ing lineups.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:20 AM) Perfect inning...book it. Another good call!
  8. Let's close this out with no drama and get out of town. A nice boring bottom of the ninth PLEASE!
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:14 AM) Pablo Ozuna our protection for our number 4 hitter. Mr. Clutch.
  10. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) Thank god.... Score some runs here... NO extra innings, I REALLY don't want this awful game to go on any longer.... As long as it takes for the Sox to win it.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:04 AM) No one up in the pen and they won't be needed, Boone will come through. He's throwing some sick looking slurves. The problem is no one is going to chase them when your down in the count. Good call.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) AJP has to be the worst defensive catcher in baseball. Bulls***.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:13 PM) I'd freaking throw up if the Sox acquired Adam Dunn. That guy is the reason why I think stat people are absolutely fools. People rave about his ability but I rave about how completely over-rated he is (not saying he's a bad player, but he isn't the god statisticians make him out to be). Cub fans can have them. IT would just mean they have a bit more offense to go with that awful rotation. Defensively, Dunn plays left field about as well as Ross Gload.
  14. QUOTE(GreenSox @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) The Mets' AAA team is the New Orleans Zephyrs and he's on that roster along with another aging old ML catcher whose name escapes me. My mistake. They must have been playing the Isotopes yesterday then. Anyway, as of yesterday he was playing for the Mets AAA affiliate, so I would doubt that it was Sandy who was in the Sox' dugout tonight.
  15. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:55 PM) How does that improve our team? Dye>Baldelli LOL! That is a head scratcher.
  16. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) oh yea, i'd take that. wonder what they would want for Rowand. Anderson and who else? Seeing that Rowand is a FA after this season and the Phillies had been shopping him, I wonder if they would take Anderson for him straight up. Supposedly Florida was very interested in BA, maybe the Phillies could flip him to the Marlins for pitching. I don't know how low Anderson's stock has fallen with other organizations.
  17. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) We'd have to get a major 'good vibe hometown' discount for Dye to be back here next year. I was talking about this year.
  18. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) If Rowand comes back, it's because KW thinks playing him everyday is better than a platoon of Mack and Ozuna in LF. Don't see it happening. An outfield of Erstad, Rowand and Dye sounds fine to me.
  19. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) The Cubs need someone who can come into the game in the later innings and play the OF and actually catch the ball. Maybe even play against lefties and give Pie a break. The Sox could use a right handed batter who actually can hit. Murton can't field but he can hit and has nowhere to play for the Cubs. Anderson for Murton could be a good deal. I think Anderson will be the better player in a couple of years, but I have a hard time believing he's going to be very successful with the Sox. I hear you, but the only problem is then we're back to Mack as our backup CF.
