  1. You know they will save some for the trade deadline acquisitions.
  2. With trading Kimbrel for a hitter, they don't have much room under the CBT for a quality starter.
  3. Yes it would. A tendon repair is 8 weeks of healing and rehab minimum. A partial menicectomy would be a similar length to this. But they are both really just excision of tissue and healing.
  4. This one really doesn't have much to do with the weight. That's more a joint issue.
  5. Has to be that f'n plantaris and they are just going to excise it.
  6. No. If he did something and they decided on surgery the next day, it wasn't thus. Thus organization has a very good medical staff. I wouldn't lump them with "something this organization would do." Like I said before, you could see it was something caused by the impact during that pitch.
  7. This is really odd. Maybe the same a Grandal from last year. You don't normally see surgery to a tendon only taking 4 weeks. It's obviously not a reconstruction. Maybe more of a debridement.
  8. Interesting that he is having surgery for a slight tear in a tendon. That's odd.
  9. I don't think salaries are being depressed maybe acquisitions but not salaries.
  10. It's a reality when talking about the Sox acquisitions.
  11. That would fit. They only have about 20 under the tax and they need to save some for the trade deadline.
  12. Yeah, it's a complicated situation when they are trying to win now and extend the window to compete. Acquiring talent when the salary is as near to the tax as it is.
  13. They have a budget to adhere to. There was no way they could do both for high end acquisitions.
  14. Maybe they should have focused on acquiring pitching instead of say a .....RF? ?
  15. I think CBT wise it was kimbrel for 16 but Pollock for 7.5. Pollock has 10 this year and a 5 buyout next year so his is spread out over 2.
  16. That would be surprising. TLR impresses me as a guy whonwould want speedier guys at 9.
  17. Vaughn will move up. They are just working him back into the lineup.
  18. Is he even on the market? If he is in the same situation as Vaughn then teams don't like to trade young promising pitchers with 5 years of control.
  19. Tough when it's his right hip. But knowing the Sox luck recently a RHP will throw a weird screwball and circle around to hit him there.
  20. What's more likely. Someone on this board being an optimist, or you being a pessimist?
