  1. Budget allotment consists of what the expected expense is. It's a 4.2 mil contract. If it's true he won't be ready until May that's 1/6 of the season he will be missing. So even if stays on the roster for the rest if the year that's a max of 3.5. So the budgeted money starts there max. If they think he won't be there after Lynn returns they budget even less.
  2. It is. Enjoy sports for what they are, entertainment. Whether they win or lose you life is still there. Stop listening to the talking heads whose livelihood depends on sucking you into believing it really matters.
  3. He doesn't need to finish the season. He needs to start it. Lynn will will be back in June.
  4. Yes, but thunk of it without Graveman and eventually Kelly. You essentially have Hendriks and Bummer. That's a lot of late lost leads.
  5. I disagree as the bullpen need to be addressed as well. I still say the bullpen was the weakest link. The lineup was really good already. The pitching staff was good but not deep.
  6. I believe I was the only one to suggest that and was shouted down by the masses stating that RF was the priority.
  7. Yes, being limited by the CBT is a choice. But in reality we know they will stick to it. So we need to work with the budget for it. We can combine a out it all we want but we can't change it. If you want to switch the discussion to them sticki g to the CBT limitation, it's a different discussion.
  8. That would be my guess so that is the challenge now. Find an acceptable pitcher for that price and not trade an MLB important piece.
  9. Right and if you can find another pitcher for that price and not give up the farm for it, it would work. I'm just not sure if that exists. More likely a flier like Cueto. I just would have gone for the pitcher first with the best trade chip in Kimbrel.
  10. So then you are ok with not having any chance of trading for someone at the deadline?
  11. I believe it's 210 for the CBT. Which leaves them about 20. They need to save some for trade deadline acquisitions.
  12. Yes. But how to have a well rounded team and stay under the CBT is the trick. Just because they need it doesn't mean they have the resources to get it. They needed to prioritize.
  13. Wrong. That is just not realistic to think they would blow past the CBT.
  14. Sure.instead of RF. There wasn't room for everyone to like them all I said it should have been pitching instead of RF.
  15. Along with an acceptable RF and bullpen and 2B upgrades?
  16. And with the budget at record highs and near the CBT you thought they would just spend like LA?
  17. Wait. I thought some of the real needs were RF and backup catcher. People were screaming about how bad it was that he didn't get a RF. Now all of a sudden the real need is pitching?
  18. I replied before you edited but the point remains. Even if the others aren't as far behind, you are trying to set yourself up for disappointment.
  19. You mean very few pitchers who try throw hard all the time can avoid UCL reconstruction. We used to be able to avoid it for most pitchers.
  20. Really? You are declaring disappointment before the season starts?
  21. MLB has Moncada ranked as the #10, #1 prospect of all time. People expectation don't matter. Performance does.
  22. Not lucky. They knew how to mange that arm. He went to Boston and they let him do what he wanted.
  23. He had 101 Ks on 94 innings last year so he must have something.
